The whole left side of the shop was these galaxy gas containers. I asked why there was whipped cream, making things in a smoke shop? She just grinned and said a lot of people are baking now. @@LoneWolfArtist You say it isn't addictive, but I witnessed him fill large garbage cans with whippet cartridges, while his lips were turning blue. Choosing a high over life is addiction.
@pfsmith007 So, the basic idea of a lush, is anyone who over indulges regularly in anything that gives pleasure. Wether it's chemical or action, they choose anything that makes them feel good and they will always overindulge if the option is available. If jumping off a bridge with a parachute is the best high available they will do it over and over and over ...until another "feel good" thing comes along. This does not mean base jumping is actually addictive, but rather some people are addicted to anything that makes them feel "pleasure" like an adrenaline rush in this example
Some of the most intelligent and accomplished humans in history had addiction/substance abuse issues. This is more of a cultural/social thing though. I used to be somewhat addicted to nitrous oxide about 10 years ago. But that was before I knew of the long term consequences.

Are people just learning whippets are legal? They’ve been selling those in smoke shops for years. Whippets are why NY banned kids from buying whipped cream. I have never understood why it isn’t banned to sell to minors, or why it’s allowed to be marketed like this
For a long time i only ever knew to get it at an adult toy store. I dont really go into smoke shops or whatever anymore but where im at it wasnt sold at places minors could go into. I tried it first when i was 19 or 20 and then probably not for a couple years after that. Who tf gets "addicted" and does this all the time? 🫠
I mean this is far from being the same thing as glue. There's absolutely no reason to use glue except to glue things. While Nitrous Oxide actually is used in medicine and dentistry and is fairly safe when used in these practices. So you're comparing apples and oranges here. That's like saying an asthma inhaler is like using glue
'This isn't supposed to be inhaled' then sells them in smoke and vape shops. Who is shopping for gas for their cartridges of whipped cream in a smoke shop?????
As someone who has a neurological condition (with similar symptoms to all those listed in this video, and no obvious or avoidable cause), the thought that already inaccessible healthcare might be made even more inaccessible, due to neurologists' time being taken by huffers, upsets me greatly.

I was at a smoke shop bout a month ago, there was a guy in his truck in the parking lot with one can of this in each hand, windows down and yelling to the guy in the store to come out. I went in and asked the guy in the store why the dude was yelling for him, he said “he did all his Wonka Gas and couldn’t walk and wanted him to bring out another can for him”!! He wouldn’t do it but someone else called the cops because of his behavior. He went to jail. There is NO WAY he could’ve drove safely anywhere!! It was CRAZY!!

Old person here, not buying this thing was made for home use. I make my husbands favorite dessert, which calls for a ton of whip cream. So the first time I made it, researching the best way, turns out for the amount a giant 2 tier cake, with cream inside, and covering the ENTIRE cake, the best way was with a regular mixer. I make this thing about every other month and it fills an entire LARGE 6 quart bowl full of whipped cream. Unless you're running a Starbuck's there's no need to have a tank like that.
Absolutely. And in some professions (like being a nail tech) you need to be a professional to buy the products. It should be the same with this, you should only be able to order it if you’re in the culinary industry
Pavlova? Baked whipped cream? Insanely delicious. My daughter's m ade it a couple times and it calls for a huge amount of whipped cream. Yes....we used a mixer, not nitrous oxide. Don't need it to make whipped cream, is all we are saying....
Used a can of the stuff to make whipcream to see if it could even hold up to kitchen standard, it dose not and it makes the cream taste terrible because of the added flavors to the gas

NO2 mostly works by reducing the oxygen in your blood. It takes x amount of time for the no2 the be gassed off and be replaced by normal air. In highschool we lost a classmate because he was huffing nitrous out of a plastic bag. He passed out and suffocated on the bag. 😢
no, its not the nitrous that does that, he reduced his own oxygen by forgetting to also breathe air. its a common mistake when huffing. i huffed a lot in the 90s and had no side effects at all. except empty wallet of course.
Making a comeback? It never went away. It was big in the 90s into the 2000s. Ok maybe it’s use dropped from around 2005 to 2020, I don’t know about that time period but it’s not forgotten just because young teens are just finding it now.
boomers were doing whippits in college, this goes WAY back. what's insane to me is that they're legally allowed to sell cans of nitrous OTC but i can't get it at the dentist when i'm having 14 teeth pulled because insurance doesn't cover it...
You need an ID to purchase cough syrup and spray-paint because they are commonly abused as drugs, they're also locked up almost anywhere you go. There was a while in my town where you couldn't even buy reddi-whip without a parent with you because so many kids were using them for whippits. Even though this is a kitchen product it should be locked up with the need of an ID to purchase. I can't blame the business for this though, this is definitely more of a regulation issue. You'd think the FDA would stop people from being able to sell such a well-known substance at such quantities as places like Walmart. It makes no sense to sell these sizes in store, if they truly wanted to get into the "home chef" demographic then releasing individual cartages and dispensers would have been the best way to do it. No home chef would go through that much nitrous oxide. The design of the package also throws me off, it looks more like a vape than anything. There are no pictures of whipped cream, no pictures of the flavor (save for the label that tells you what it is), and the font doesn't give the vibe of a "food item". If I went into the store and knew nothing about this product, I would not be able to tell you it's use. It's also sketchy that they were sold at smoke shops, why would you put a kitchen item in a smoke shop?
In medical uses, Nitrous is like xrays. Getting a few xrays a day might cause cancer pretty quick. But limited exposure, like a couple a year or every few years, usually isn't a problem. It's using it frequently over time that is an issue. Also dosing is important to. Culinary nitrous doesn't have dosing instructions because that's not its intended use.
One of my best friends died unexpectedly @ 55. He'd been doing whippets for 30+yrs. There was no autopsy done, but this was the 1st thing I thought of when I heard he passed away
From what I can tell, Walmart doesn't even sell this stuff outside of through third party sellers on their online marketplace. They *do* sell normal canned whipped cream and air duster cans, which people have been using for the exact same purpose for decades.

I think he went to hospital after I quit too. He is alive but his brain and personality changed completely.
It’s always been easy to access, however, when more people become aware of it, for example through social media then more markets are going to spring up out of nowhere to make it even easier to find it.
The oldest Gen Alpha age is 14, which is right in the middle of the 12-17 age group abusing this stuff. I’d say it’s a mix of some really young Gen Z and older Gen Alpha. Some of the kids in those video are definitely no older than 15, and Gen alpha is know to dress maturely too.
Wait, are smoke shops selling Galaxy Gas? Why is that allowed at all? If Walmart is selling it at least you can argue someone might buy it to use it right (unlikely, but at least possible). Literally no one is going to a smoke shop to buy it to use it for whipped cream.

@xeldinn86 Yup! When the dental assistant came out to call me back, they asked my husband if he was staying and if he was driving me home. The gas affects people differently, so it's good to have that precaution although it is annoying.
I think its use is wider now due to its glorification in social media. It is now marketed in large cool-looking cannisters that have been designed to attract kids and teens. Older nitrous gas use was done from smaller cannisters that were marketed for a legitimate use. In many cases, a kid would have had to work harder to get a large amount. That is why this is more troubling. I am no expert in this stuff, tho. Just my opinion.
@@Lyrichurns it's cute you think we'll have presidents in the future, icymi the fascists won and they already told their loyal followers "you won't have to vote ever again."

yeah or those tiny little canisters that were actually used for restaurants and not flavored, probably about like 6 cans of whipped cream. IDK but I get the impression that this new packaging delivers less at once so it's more like how it is administered for sedation. they need to be shut down.
You could buy the small canisters of nitrous or larger tanks. I don’t think this is anything different than what we had in the 90’s or the generations before that. This video is misleading because it is giving the impression that you can walk in Walmart and pick this up.
Culinary nitrous doesn't have dosing instructions because that's not its intended use.

must not have been that smart if he was willing to huff gas. the aggie reputation bears out again...
@@dietotakuLmao you actually believe this has anything to do with the intellectual abilities of people from a state or college? Have YOU been abusing nitrous??
What is aggie reputation
It's more concerning when you find out Gen Beta is in less than 3 weeks.
I love the direction you’ve turned in terms of content- great journalism that will impact lives for the better
Fun fact: you can use galaxy gas on small engines as a tiny nitrous blast for a horsepower boost. You can even use it on full sized engines, too.
Straight up Mad Max
Yeah my RX7 is showing signs of withdrawal.

If it’s being sold at vape shops, wtf does vapes have to do with wiping cream. Nothing. Don’t do this, not worth your health, it really isn’t.
I don't think it's being sold at vape shops specifically. I think it's being sold at regular shops but the manufacturer of them is a brand that was exclusively manufacturing vapes. Vape shops ID at the door, you're not even allowed to peruse the wares. Unless it's one of those gas stations that's named "discount vapes", but it's not really a vape store\head shop. They just happen to sell a bunch of bootleg escobars on top of the usual over priced convenience snacks and gas.
@@twitch136661Definitely depends where u live. I've never seen a vape shop ID at the door
@@twitch136661
What vape shops are you talking about 😂 Here in TN, you show your ID when you get ready to pay. A few shops have gotten in trouble for not IDing and been shut down.
And yes it IS being specifically sold at plenty of vape shops. I haven’t seen it anywhere else here, however the vape shops I go to stopped stocking it bc of how many kids have been dropping from it. Not to mention the state has already stepped in and it’ll be completely illegal to purchase here soon enough.
I remember huffing aerosol at a sleepover once injunior high at a sleepover. Nope. It sent me out and gave me asthma as a result. That was 23 years ago.
And as someone who suffers from trauma induced dissociation, it is NOT fun to feel disconnected fromyourself. It gets TERRIFYING. FAST.
Nitrous isn't the same as huffing some dirty aerosol lol nitrous is relatively safe
@@JohnSmith-fq7hj did you even watch the video

@RayvenLunaNite I understand about disassociation. I suffer from DID (multiple personality disorder). I truly feel for you. No one will ever fully understand unless you suffer from an illness with disassociation, not even the mental health field. I wish you all the best!
When you go into the K Hole.
I used to work at a vape shop and I honestly feel so guilty every time I sold whippets
But did you sell Glass Roses?
If it's not meant to use to get high, then why is it at smoke/depending shops? Thought it was only for "culinary use". Then why is it at SMOKE shops?
I had a friend 20 yrs ago that was manager of starbucks but was fired when he took home all the nitrous & that starbucks was without whipped cream for weeks. He took several months of supply

Gen alpha is so cooked. I CANT be the only one agreeing 💀🙏
FRRR
I'm never doing this

None of those kids look like Gen Alpha. They’re all young gen z
Only American Gen Alphas kids 😂😂
Every single generation that ever existed across history has always said this about the generations which came directly after their own for as long as writing have been a tging. This is not new and every generation eventually grows out of their version of "brain-rot" and immediately proceed to belittle the generation after themselves instead...
One of my best friends from back in high school died of the effects of nitrous(mixed with other substances,) and his mom found him dead with the duster can held in his arm. Rip Matt Berry.
Duster isn't nitrous.
Is this why I need a ID for a can of air now??? Bruh.
Yes smh

My dentist won’t let me leave if I get laughing gas without someone literally waiting for me in the waiting room. So how is this being sold at stores? That is crazy!!
Really? My dentist just shuts off the nitrogen and I inhale pure oxygen for a few minutes and I'm good to go home
@xeldinn86 Yup! When the dental assistant came out to call me back, they asked my husband if he was staying and if he was driving me home. The gas affects people differently, so it's good to have that precaution although it is annoying.
One of the things I've learned throughout my life is that trying to save people from themselves is a losing battle...
Whippits arent new. People have been hitting no2 for decades.
Best w/ Larry
We all know it's not new but it's new for this generation
I was doing "poppers" and "whippets" in the 80s.
@cherfromtn8225 we bought whipits by the case in the 90s. I agree with your first statement though.
Why are they selling it in vape shops? Whos buying whipped cream and E cigs 🤣🤣🤣

@Ultamami no it's who is not who has so it's who's. Nice try tho

This is our future generation btw
The fact that some of these kids could possibly become president in the future is terrifying
@@Lyrichurnsnot with how jacked up their brains are.
It's cute you think none of your past presidents used drugs.
@@Lyrichurns it's cute you think we'll have presidents in the future, icymi the fascists won and they already told their loyal followers "you won't have to vote ever again."
If only the other generations raised them right huh?
I like how you purposely labeled Gen Z and Gen Alpha for purposes of engagement 😂
It’s brilliant 🤣
guys…this isn’t safe. it’s supposed to be used to numb pain, not for fun.
fun is no pain
nitrous doesn't actually numb anything, it's not a proper anesthetic. it's a mild sedative, and it works by literally starving your brain of oxygen.
Depressed people: "Continues using it forever until death" pain finally gone bro.
The reason no one cared about whippets back in the day is because you had to buy an entire can of whipped cream to get nitrous, you also had to eat the whipped cream to empty the can to get more gas, I guess that's too much work for kids nowadays but there was so little gas in that original can that's probably why it wasn't an issue second and a half is different than the time that these kids are using this, I love watching self deletions
yeah or those tiny little canisters that were actually used for restaurants and not flavored, probably about like 6 cans of whipped cream.
Maybe it’s different in some states but I am in NY and have never seen this for sale in store at Walmart. I do see it for sale on Walmarts website but it’s sold through a third party seller and it has shipping restrictions.
wouldn't this be gen z? the oldest gen alpha is like 14 these look like 16-17 year olds
yeah, my literal son is gen alpha, they always mess that up.
ALWAYS blaming Alpha even though they are still little kids.
I consider them late gen z because like early gen z is in their 20s and probably NOT doing this
@@payelizabethh but the older gen z's have drugged themselves with technology, causing all of us to need to use it for everything, therefore giving our wonderful government the easier ability to take FULL control.
I'm 13 (gen alpha) I've never seen one of these at my school before.
Keep in mind this is the same era that thought taking a ton of anti-diarrhea medication would get them high. Can you imagine the nuclear level constipation they had to deal with after trying that? 😂 I'm thinking that problem probably solved itself.
They have no math skills or reading skills to start with. What are we losing again?
I can't imagine anyone wanting to get addicted to that. I live with persistant low oxygen levels and experience this all day every day, but it's not a "fun and happy feeling".
(no I've never touched that stuff, I have a physical health issue)
It's debilitating to feel low on oxygen, it's like being high all day every day and darn near can barely function.
I used to have seizures in my sleep when my oxygen levels were too low.
It's not a good thing, I have confusion and memory loss every day. After six years of living with something my doctors still can't figure out, I've lost a lot of brain cells!
I'm terribly sorry for your suffering. I wish you all the best! ❤

That is the dumbest funking question. When you were a teenager, did you spend every moment with your parents? Did your parents know what you were doing every second? JFC
