Amazon employees as you are out on your route and you see an ups driver doing the same thing you are doing and delivering the same package. Stop and just ask that person how much is there pay insurance cost union dues and how much of a pension are they looking to receive when retirement. Then ask yourself why did I not stand with my other workers for just that one day. That one day you missed in pay probably would’ve been made up for in one week under union pay. You can accrue 80hrs off Unpaid time off, 48hrs off PTO actual, and if I’m not mistaken up to 96hrs accrual off vacation time. Seasonal workers and new full time workers start at $20, day shift and receive a night shift premium. When COVID first hit, If you were positive, you received 2 weeks of pay. Aetna is the benefit provider one of thee best providers. No other warehouse industrial company has given the raises we’ve received. If you’re an FC AA and you joined in this strike, you’re misinformed and misled. If you drive for a DSP contractor, you stole those routes from Flex drivers who are making more than you back in 2018/19 to be hired by your independent contractor who doesn’t want to give you benefits and not micromanage you! Strike them.

Plenty of other companies treat their employees better while making far less money. Key word here "WORKING CONDITIONS" when you gotta pack or unload x amount of boxes per an hour, 12 hours a day. and scan something every 15 seconds or risk getting some kind of write up if you don't and you expect people to settle on that same amount of pay during the holidays when precious" peak seasons" come around and that work load is suddenly doubled? this usually results in some kind of "Gift card" reward straight up absurd. Luckily I work at a job where they at least KNOW peoples limits with the limited team they're given once temp hiring seasons are over.

Having worked in the business. You'd be surprised at how many can't. Highest turnover rate I've seen. Whether it comes to the hours, the driving, organizing, and being efficient. Many, many, many can't I witnessed way more quit, than stay.

Semi truck driver here, my company does not pull for Amazon but I talked to some O/O last night they said they were in a big hurry to get their loads into Amazon California Warehouse, they were afraid they wouldn't get unloaded because of the strike. 🚛
Warehouses? No. That’s a misconception. That would be delivery drivers while on route only. Many have reported having to use bottles because stopping somewhere would take too much time and put you behind schedule. But as far as the warehouses where orders are packed, shipped, and sorted this is not a thing. I have worked in 4 different Amazon FCs starting in 2020 and that has never happened

I was on a leave because of back spasms and when I was supposed to returned to work by the doctor note in December, Amazon HR didn't put me back in as Active and I'm still not in. They transferred me to Flex and I still haven't been able to get any hours because they are not showing any on the schedule and I really don't think they have put me back to Active in the system. My bills are behind and I don't want to be put out of my apartment nor lose any of my insurance policy because of their ignorance and neglect for an employee being hurt on the job.
They smart doing the strike, just before Xmas. Being that's one of the biggest times, for deliveries of the year. Hopefully they get what they're fighting for, but we know these corporations are greedy.

Amazon will resort to wait and see tactics and could stand to lose significant revenue. It can get really ugly and messy before it will concede to any resolution first, before negotiating.

I believe when anyone strikes their pay and benefits should be posted and made public knowledge. They never do this. To many unskilled laborers think they should own the companies. Just like the port strike come to find out they were already making great pay but wanted more. Sometimes it’s greed of the employees and not just the company. Is this the case here? There are no actual Amazon delivery drivers. Amazon designed the DSP (delivery service provider) system to try and prevent stuff like this. Amazon has cameras installed in our vans. Amazon controls our wages. Amazon can terminate us.

No. Roughly $22/hr plus minimal benefits. They deserve more. It’s a hard job. You never see a gray-haired person doing it.

@ I think you’re out of touch with reality and responsibility. Neither mopping nor toilet cleaning requires a college degree, that’s unskilled labor that anyone can do. How is $22 an hour not enough unless your super wasteful or super extravagant one. That’s $3520 a month gross at 8 hours a day 5 days a week. That’s 42,240 a year for unskilled labor. That’s pretty darn good. If you want more money find a skill set that everyone can’t do. Don’t even yell about taxes when most everyone gets a full refund or more back at this level. Or is the refund a wild wasteful spending spree?
@@benproffitt5957 Realistically, after health insurance, pension, SS tax, etc, it’s $2600. Yes, if you live with parents, that’s fine. A decent apartment $1300, utilities $300, food $400, car payment + gas/repairs/insurance $600. $2600 gone and that’s in a cheap area.

Chaos? A few protesters? The drivers bosses don’t control the money. They are contractors getting maybe 10% over what a driver gets paid. Multiply that by 50 drivers and the contractor does ok.

There are no actual Amazon delivery drivers. Amazon designed the DSP (delivery service provider) system to try and prevent stuff like this. Amazon has cameras installed in our vans. Amazon controls our wages. Amazon can terminate us.
