  • This is the Quickview of the 1.9" Axial Falken Wildpeak MT, a scale Class 2 tire in R35 compound. I assume it's the OE tire off of something.

    These came on the SCX10 III early bronco which weighs a couple pounds more than a enduro SE if I'm remembering my general weights correctly. That bronco body is around the same weight as the CJ7 body

    I would like to humbly request an addition to tire testing or an idea for a follow-up video. it would be informative to the community if you install the tires on the Canyon Crawler Resident Vehicle (CCRV) you believe the tire is best suited to. the wrap-up would have a background of Wet Slick-rock and the side-hill, the idea being to showing the tire performance on the "Proper" rig, on the Most challenging obstacle, and worst case traction. maybe a wet gate section. i understand that this could add a significant amount of time and headache and that it would still have limited value for some viewers, i also believe the final product would include useful information that is not available anywhere >i have found< on the web, and as you say "It's all Content". thank you for your time and commitment, i wish i lived close enough to volunteer labor to the canyon.
    I envision you grabbing the CCRV you know will work, running wet-rocks wet and a couple lines to show sidewall performance - while the summary is given, no camera moves, quick walk to the shed, swap wheels, head out and be done. i would not ask or expect you to try a bunch of different weighted vehicles. unless, Possibly a second video with the tires 9.0 and up where the tire has an optimized insert (Canyon or Injora or etc.) and is installed on the "perfect" CCRV for the tire as opposed to a few different rigs that have 1 or 2lb differences in weight, where you look to finetune your suggested weight for the tire. I watch all your videos, the content is excellent and suggest others watch when i post places. thank you for you commitment to quality information, my hobby has never been more fun, the tuning tips and builds have made me a better participant in this wonderful pass-time.

    They get 22nd place, tied with the Poline BFG KM3. IMO, I would buy the BFGs before the Axial Wildpeaks, but none of them are really that good for 60-66 bucks a set

The ones before that you are testimg different mold but r35 early bronco scx10iii and the OG scx10i wildpeak falcon jeep wrangler jk blue and green that’s G6 Certified 😂 I’ve had all their rtr’s. Plus the check mark looking lugs that are split/sipped instead of being a solid lug maybe be the ticket. The worst IMO r35 rtr was the maxxis trepadors.

    All I can think for r35’s the r35 nittos vented on there million screw bead-lock wheels with dual stage red injora foams on my trx6 are absolutely BA. They love the wieght and scrubbed in very nicely with rounded corners. eBay take off new on wheels $40

    I don't find performance tires to wear out all that fast when trailing. I have a set of Vanquish Falken Wildpeaks and a set of PL Krawlers in Predator, each with well over 150 miles of trailing on them (at least that much recorded on GPS).
    Both sets also regularly get wedged and pushed hard through grippy granite and sandstone rocks. The average run is a 4 mile (round trip) hike on dirt and rocks to a craggy clifftop area where the real crawling happens, but with some hard lines and hooning along the way as well.
    They're also 1.5 and 2 years running with no discernable breakdown of the matetial. The Krawlers are in great shape aside from a heavily featherd lug. The Wildpeaks have some sidewall cuts and the tread is kindof worn from underneath, and lugs are nearly torn off.
    Both are on SL3D squids now and run pretty darn squished. No idea how this affects the wear.
    They're both on roughly 8 pound rigs.
    My thinking is that the trail miles hardly contribute to wear, unlike spinning on rock.
    I cannot imagine how long a tire like this would last trailing!

    • @FaithSaraG
      @FaithSaraG 3 месяца назад +1

      That jibes with my experience as well. I'm not willing to compromise grip on the rocks. Tire life while trailing just hasn't been a concern, even with aggressive overdrive. Trails aren't a high traction abrasive surface.

  • @mfnJOSH
    @mfnJOSH 3 месяца назад +1

    I run these on my cab over rig on injora greens, and love them for overall wheeling. Bit of mud, trees, dirty rocks, clean high grip. Not the best in one area, but very solid in all areas.

      @mfnJOSH 3 месяца назад +1

      Full disclosure, i was given the tires. They came off an early bronco. And hinestly, for a truck like that i see no reason to take them off.

  • @MidwestRCcrawler

    I have a set of these axial falkens. Mainly got them for the scale look. Of course they do great for trailing and look great doing it. Not the worst tires I’ve had when actual crawling either. I also run the green Injora inserts and brass clamp rings in them on my 10.18lb cj7 and they do well. The set of AliExpress Pit Bull Rock Beast XL, were, are and still is, the shittiest tire I’ve ever wasted money and time on. Everything you said about them on one of your previous tire tests, is so accurate and I experienced it all for myself. I could literally remove them off any beadlock wheel I put them on without removing a single screw.

    So there is another set of axial falken tires haha the trail grappler! I have them from the 10.3 and to be honest i never used them but ive heard people like them!

  • @CasperRc81
    @CasperRc81 3 месяца назад

    These axial wildpeaks are different between the r35’s ones that came on my scx10iii early bronco rtr. They probably work the same idk. They definitely are far more squared off compared to the ones I just mentioned.
    For Az these sit on my bronco weighing in at almost 9Lbs. On blue injora silicone. They work great on edgy granite and side wall pressure pinched climbs and side hill. Forward drive ah just an rtr. But these are just scale driving for me. I’m not expecting truggy comp performance, anymore I expect long term health on skittles and French fries diet. But for some odd reasons I find the 1.9 r35 ripsaws to be better maybe cuz there a bit shorter idk.
    They’ll be around after I’m dead. They feel the same as the kit version axial yeti 380. That are idk 5.5” tall

    My experience is that the best you can hope for from a set of Axial tires is "ok." These certainly look good, performance isn't at all bad and I think they'd be fine on a scaler trail truck, but I wouldn't seek them out. I may be too critical.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  3 месяца назад +1

      No, I mostly agree. I just think that a bunch of people might already have them, and they can be made to perform "solidly okay." I wouldn't buy them over another tire. JConcepts exists.
