This is an excellent tutorial.. I see you are using a particular way to add the weld on.. I was surprised it was so liquid when I opened the can.. I like these acrylic pens too.. I think I might have asked you before which ones you use.
I keep them in a little box. You can get one of those plastic pencil holder boxes from dollar tree or your local discount store. I make sure to have them facing up to not get ink inside of the box. 😊
Do you mean that instead of stamping with rubber, you’d be stamping with acrylic?? That actually sounds interesting, would be interesting to see how that would turn out. I don’t think it would work as good as the rubber, but you may still get a similar shape (stamp) when pressed. Also, the acrylic may not hold the ink as good as the rubber does because acrylic has a slight shine to it which causes ink/paint to not completely cover it … I’m actually going to try that! You may be on to something! 😂😆
@@TheFreckledCraftsStudio it didn’t engrave properly but i now believe i had the material thickness wrong maybe. it’s a lovely tutorial. i’m excited to watch and try the rest.
Same here….. when the box turns black is where the issue is… i dont have premium. I cant get it to just engrave the dead space. Maybe i have to do sort of like a knockout design🤷🏾♀️. Good tutorial but they all lose me at this one step.
@@ThingsSheMakesShop for the material thickness, put 0.09 inches. Don’t forget to thicken your letters by offsetting it as well- thin letters might ruin the whole stamp. I’ve done it plenty of times, & it works.
@@alicianelson8189 it may be hard to do the stamps without the premium glowforge- but it’s not impossible. 1. Maybe create a box & fill it in with color (in your silhouette/cricut application) 2. Add your design (inside the box) 3. Invert the whole thing. I hope it works out for you.
Are you doing two passes? - as I show on the video. As you mentioned, you don’t have the premium for the glowforge stamp maker, (which was free once upon a time) you may have to do it manually, & I’m not too sure on how to make a stamp that way.
@@TheFreckledCraftsStudio hey doll the stamp is literally made the same way you just make sure the letters are black for the engraving and you have to mirror it. I made stamps before premium was a thing..

Can this be replaced with acrylic instead of rubber?

i tried to do this, i followed step by step, i even bought silhouette business edition and used the same font and it didn’t work 😭
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. What was the result? Did it not cut? Not engrave properly? 😕

Can this same concept be used to make a wooden coin? Cutting away around the words..
Yes, definitely can! When cutting, make sure to invert your image so that it engraves the outside! Similar to the stamping technique!
I must be missing a step because either mine engraves the words🤦🏽♀️ or just a flat engrave of the rectangle🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
