So happy to see you playing the strings again. Forget is my all time favorite album, can’t believe it’s almost 13 years old.
Legit record. There are 5 top chart singles here. This is the true follow up to his best album, Forget, topping it in writing prowess and pop sensibility. If Twin Shadow keeps going in this direction, the next independant record could very well become his magnum opus. He's a talented writer, without question, but he definitely makes his best stuff when he is independant. The last two major label albums were maybe 10% his true artistry, and 90% radio pop attempt misses. So glad to have him back!
First listen to this artist. Really innovative and atmospheric stuff. Love it.

Forget was a phenomenal, and I mean phenomenal album, and it means the world to me, but George had to evolve to keep things fresh and interesting, while also coming from his own artistic tastes and decisions, and that's exactly what my man did! Imagine if George was making the exact same music 11 years later? Let's be honest, you wouldn't want that, neither would he. We would all be tired - new wave is a precious genre and should be handled with deep artistic care; Forget is a supreme example of such care and is a masterpiece, one of my favourite albums of all time and yes, Twin Shadow's best. However, if George made that album more than let's day, twice, I think everyone would start to notice the exhaustion of sound. You don't have to like the direction he went in after Forget with albums like Confess - I personally enjoyed the direction even if it never matched my love for Forget - but that's your taste, and you can't apply it to Twin Shadow as if they made the wrong decision: it's their art, no one else's. George evolved like any good artist would, and showed us his talents beyond new wave. His core motif and sound is still there, though: romantic and dance. I mean just watch this music video, you can't deny the immense talents and musical prowess on display here. I for once adore his self-titled (2021) album and think it's his best work since Forget. I am completely and utterly grateful to be living in the age where Twin Shadow is on my radar, my playlists, and my speakers - he is one of my favourite artists of all time, and I couldn't be more happier to say that. As OP said, hit after hit. God bless Twin Shadow!
