Watching and appreciating in December 2023. 😬 Broke my trans when I shifted into reverse on accident today while moving forward. Removed Optidrive because something was wrong with it (wouldn't work with engine off even). Oh well. Mine seems to be doing the same thing though... feels like the brake is on until it gets moving better. Mine currently has to rev very high to shift... need to adjust it next run. Once it shifts into 2nd it hauls. 2.5 Revo with a 3.3 also. Looks like previous owner did the spring mod. 👍🏻Thanks ChefB!
Very cool if I can suggest one thing maybe put a drill on it and spin it up and set the second gear engagement idk if it will work but if the one way bearing bad you’ll know then 🤣PS idk I’ve never worked on one but that just my head thinking it loud lmao great video 👍👍💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@chefbeardsly I actually called Traxxas to ask exactly what changes were made, so I’d know for sure parts that I couldn’t use, and ones I could. I spoke to a guy named Chandler, who sounded about as sure of his answers as a guy who knows NOTHING about R/C. I’ll def have to call back and find out, that is unless you can tell me? My main query is the transmission parts. And what’s up with the center differential? Man, any help is appreciated! My transmission is sitting in parts now bc I couldn’t find. Decent video on putting in the fwd only swap.

I love the silver skid plate you added! I’ve only seen one even like that and the color was awful. It’s hard to find 2.5 parts anymore.
Yeah it is but most 3.3 stuff all works besides the chassis

@@jackdurden466 the transmissions are the same and there is no center diff the revo nitros have slipper clutches

In the very beginning of the video you have a big plate to cover over the underside of the transmission
