    Mine was in Final Fantasy X where Tidus and the bois went to save Yuna from marrying Seymour and they had to get out of the Airship, that was utterly badass

    Rinoa floating through space, her primary life support empties as she gives up on life, ultimately accepting her fate. The two rings on her necklace, both hers and Squalls griever ring, float in front of her, suspended by zero gravity, the sight of which renews her will to live and she activates her backup life support.
    Squall leaping from the safety of the escape pod in to the vast emptiness of space to save Rinoa, and against all odds finding and catching her. The pair reunite, sharing a brief moment of intimacy amidst the hopelessness. as the stream of monsters from the Lunar Cry hurtle towards the planet.
    This is the moment I will never forget, and why number 8 will always be my favourite.

    The one moment that comes to mind every time when ff blows my mind was the beginning of FFX. I played 7 before and 8 and 9 but then X just opens with a super nice calming place with a jock hero only TO HAVE EVERYTHING BLOWN UP, PEOPLE PANICKING, THINGS DISENTEGRATING, HEAVY ASS METAL MUSIC and a scene where I thought our hero just died 10 minutes in. Still gives me that jacked up feeling watching it

      The music used in the opening scene of FFX did a lot more than herald the arrival of Sir Auron and all the badassery he embodied. The up-tempo, crunchy, nu-metal also did more than just emphasize the ultra physicality and competitiveness of Blitzball.
      It was used to ram home and punctuate how much of a big deal the PS2 was and was going to be. The release of FFVII on the original PlayStation had a massive impact on the way people viewed the potential of what video games could be. The footage of Midgar shown in tv adverts certainly made my jaw drop, (of course it wasn't until I popped in FFVII disc 1 did I figure out Square Enix's cunning use of cut scenes and just how powerful they could be).
      That opening sequence in FFX kinda threw down the gauntlet and raised the bar of what players have come to expect out of new entries to the series.

    10 was my very first Final Fantasy game, and it will forever be my favorite.
    From the opening scene where Sin invades Zanarkand during the Blitz Ball tournament, to invading the wedding by skirting down the anchor ropes.
    But the one that gets me ever time is when Seymour first summons Anima. There's something about the immense power it holds that's really awe inspiring. Not to mention the look of sadness of it's face, that we later learn is from being created from the soul of Seymours mother.

  • @glennwelsh9784

    Final Fantasy is one of those franchises that has set its own bar so high with moments that blow you away that it seems forever stuck with trying to find more ways to keep doing that, and it's a feat it hasn't quite been able to achieve in its more recent outings. Like most American players, FFVII was my first experience with the series and with JRPG's in general, and the part that blew me away the most was when you leave Midgar for the first time and realize there was much more of the game still ahead to play and a much bigger world to explore.

    Vivi is my favorite character as well. He is such a tragic character. Here is a childlike black mage who is just trying to figure out his place in the world only to find out he is on borrowed time and one day he will just stop. He was so relatable that I have been unable to play FFIX again because it is just so sad when you know what his fate is. I just don't have this reaction with the other characters in any of the other games.

    Honestly so many sequences in FFVII experienced for the first time blew me away. I could never have imagined 60 hours of awesome back when this game came out. I don't think I'll ever forget the opening sequences for as long as I'll live. The Mako Reactor theme, that chord that strikes deep down. The breathtaking atmosphere and the eventual world-building with something eerie in the darkness and depression of Midgar. All of the music makes it sound like something's not right, dreamy. And indeed, you find out why.

    4:15 "Its actually possible to beat X80I2 during your escape, but why would you want to do that when you see Quistis do this?"
    The answer is for 50 AP.

    • @slobiden.2593
      @slobiden.2593 8 лет назад +5

      Actually you can glitch it and get 50AP every time, to do this you've got to kill it prior to the bridge, it can't be killed (you just need to deal that much damage) I got about 200AP and got a bunch of 50AP abilities unlocked mainly magic stat boosters like STR-J. Also the next boss drops 18 wizard stones, which makes 80 tier 3 spells (blizzaga) junction that to squall and he's a powerhouse till disc 2 when you just keep visiting shumi village for their ultimate point.
      Basically grind all spells in the first area to 100 so you can pull off the 50AP glitch and also get boost and summag for quezacotl,. And then you don't need to grind ever.

      +jake brassington I am 21 and I have never played a final fantasy game I have just played KH 1 and KH 2 so I know a little about final Fantasy but not much. I bought final fantasy X/X2 on ps4 because I tried the free platinum demo on psn and loves it so I am starting with that

      +jake brassington What Max Lopez said. It isn't bad. St least I can't think of any reason having played it. The input lag from using a wireless controller makes the "dodging 200 lightning strikes" bit a bigger pain in the butt than it was back on the ps2, but it's still doable. Now if I can just get past 170 :(

    FFX right before the fight with Yunalesca, that Auron's speech.
    FFV Galuf's death, they actually tried to revive him lol xD
    FFIV when the twins turn into stone
    FFVI, uncovering Shadow's past
    FFIX the fight between Bahamut and Alexander, and when you meet Kuja for the first time
    FFVII, always liked Vincent's backstory, but I'd go with the moment you enter Shinra manor and Cloud remembers Zack
    FFVIII when Squall leaves with an unconscious Rinoa walking all the way to Esthar, and those Laguna and company flashbacks were amazing too

    In Crisis Core when Zack meets Cloud it put an enormous smile on my face. The scene is just two guys laughing at where they have come from, but you can clearly see their chemistry right in that moment. A small moment of courtesy between two heroes that sticks with me even now.

  • @the1stJZ
    @the1stJZ 7 лет назад +49

    Three from FFX. The lake scene with Tidus and Yuna and that beautifulsong,, the fight against Lady Yunalesca where Yuna basically tells her to go f**k herself then the party lays waste to all three of her forms and the devasting scene when Tidus learns of Yuna's fate. Two of the most satisfying moments from FFX. You FINALLY learn the Jecht shot ( I've yet to learn Jecht 2 ) and you realize you can win the 1st blitzball tournament and take the cup...which is actually an 8 foot tall trophy!!!

      Here speaks a child who arrived to Eorzea after the Calamity. The realm lives on. It's almost as a second life to me. The feeling of adventure is there, physically present.
      The magic is real, as I can tell you firsthand.
      A westerly wind blows through the grassy plains of La Noscea. The rhytm of two feet running along the road, the sharp breaths of a fledgling mage holding onto her pointy hat, clutching a weathered tome with her other hand. And the groans of the enormous creature trudging after this adventurer, who was reckless enough to cast a spell through its thick grey skin.
      The girl behind her screen wasn't completely new to gaming, but this was her first step in the Final Fantasy universe. I, the level 5 arcanist, had attacked something completely out of my league.
      I kept running a long after the goobbue stopped the chase, but there was a new feeling of excitement.
      I've soon played for a year, and my love for the vast realm of Light hasn't ceased. I doubt it will anytime soon.

    I say my top is Crisis Core I was shocked at the feels it sent me. The entire game. Literally the entire game is a tragic story about Zack Fair. Betrayed by his comrades and eventually Shinra. Angeal, Sephiroth, and Genesis. All his heroes (and two friends) betrayed him. Even the Turks at one point were assigned to kill him. Zack in the end fought hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers eventually giving in and falling. His story had ended when Cloud's began.
    The last line from Zack (depending on language)
    "Hey, I've become a hero, right?"
    "Hey, would you say I became a Hero?"

      top moment for me as well, knew the outcome of the final fight before going in, and still... tried and tried to keep him alive.
      then the modulating phases started, and that moment of dread, that trivial knowledge you picked up in shinra mansion in ff7's nibel becomes more haunting. and you slowly accept what's about to happen so cloud can live and for zack to remain true to his dream.
      a moment that left me speechless. the ending wasn't surprising, but personally how hard it hit the player was. a very well told story.

      -Another one was when Zidane went through his emo stage and his friends stayed by his side, really hit me.
      -When Vivi and the others arrive at the Black Mage Village for the first time and Vivi learns about his short life and the concepts of life, death and a place to call home.

      "BB"? Bloodborne? If so, I've yet to play that, unfortunately, even though I've been with the Souls series since its beginning, with Demon's Souls. For me, Metal Gear Solid 3 came _really_ close to giving me the feeling I got with Final Fantasy X, so, there's that. Metal Gear has become one of my favorite series, actually.

      Chocomunchie Yea I was referring to bloodborne. I've played all the souls games (pre ordered ds3), but bloodborne stuck with me the most. I never got into the metal gear series. I bought 5 but just didn't enjoy it.

      TheTinyTimmyTimTim MGSV's good gameplay-wise, but in terms of story, it was one of the worst in the series, sadly. Especially for Metal Gear fans, like myself. The ending was a massive disappointment. I suggest playing MGS3, if you want to see the real depth of quality in the Metal Gear series. It's also the prequel story to the whole series, so, you won't be lost in terms of story, as you probably were with MGSV. It's a really engaging anti-war narrative with compelling characters left and right. Even the bosses are unique, and once you learn their backstories, you regret killing them most of the time.

Some stuff that wasn't mentioned in the video that i loved were: the train mission in VIII, The opera in VI, the battles in IX where you had to do tasks (perform at a play/save garnet from that plant thing), killing of your own aeons in X. Whoever thought of the camera for XV though should get praised. Taking photos of your friends and your adventures and then seeing it on the credits was really emotional and made you feel like you were really part of it.

    Ff8 opening. It was my first final fantasy and I was addicted as soon as that wave lapped the beach. The song and the cinematic will forever be in my mind.
    Ffx opening. Pretty, calm and A jock guy a bit nervous over his game, a cool as hell older dude looking over a city, a giant wave, metal music, people screaming, it made me in love before I even played it. Then that ending which made me bawl like a baby
    Ffxv. Leviathan battle, sure it was easy but omg it was utterly mesmerising.

    As a kid I knew it as final fantasy 2. That was the first time I ever flew an airship. The music is imprinted in my brain. Back in the early 90s it was overwhelming as a child to grasp such a serious story line.

    FF IX is the most under rated FF game in the series i believe.. I loved that game, would love to see a remastered of it.

    Lmao I was the same during all the interactive cut scenes in FF VIII except you'd be seeing my character running around in circles being controlled by a 11 yr old saying "Holy fuck most amazing graphics. Ever."

    The chocobo side quests on 9... honestly spent soooooo many hours finding and digging up all those chests. Also loved the moogles in 9, they were everywhere, still remember the one falling on vivi in a bell tower and then being forced to deliver a letter for kupo.

      Indeed Zidane is original and unique as a protagonist and Vivi, Quena and even Eiko defy expected behavioral paradigms and establish a new and delicious character development and exposè arcs! Final Fantasy IX feels like a real fairy tale that draws you in and allows you to get to know and understand it's intricate and well drawn characters and expertly paced and exemplary plot. It starts off by juxtaposing 4 very different types of people suddenly finding themselves in a party fighting for a new goal while barely able to stand each other... It drops the flawed junction system and magic drawing of FF VIII in favor of a slower and more meticulous fighting progression and a much more effective and classic battle system. It reestablished the importance of items, weapons and magic has once more strength and usefulness. It's graphics style speak of warm childhood fantasies wrapped in fields of fragrant flowers and it's symphonic sweetness reminds one of cotton candy at the Carnival Parade! It plucks heart strings and enchants minds. A story magnificently told and masterfully executed in a passionate and supremely engaging flair! FF IX is my favorite Final Fantasy!

    idk about "blew us away" But what about poor Palom and Porom in FF5.... They were our friends.... through the whole game they kept me alive and happy and healed and I loved those two. I protected them from certain death and when the time came they gave everything and no magic in the world could save them, or fix that feeling of loss. They were gone... just... turned to stone. I had magic that could normally fix that, but not this time.
    No scene in any game, movie, book, or news cast has made me cry that much.

    The real story of Cloud in FF7, when he and Tifa fell in the Liefstream, and explored the memories of Cloud.
    When I realised Cloud wasn't that cool Soldier 1st Class guy, just a little douche.
    And moments later, when the game smashed right in my face what really happened to Zak, Cloud and Sephiroth at Nibel Reactor.
    I couldn't gahter my jaw from the floor for minutes.

      When i was a kid i couldn't fully understand that part... I was confused. I very much enjoyed the part of the story when Cloud sits with the others and unfolds his backstory in Nibelheim, especially the few moments when you get to play as Sephiroth :)

    I would have to say my favorite scene that blew me away is in the very beginning of FFX when you're given a close-up of Tidus' face, and then his eye snaps open at the exact time that Otherworld starts playing, continuing on through to the end of the song

    This is why I cannot understand people refusing to play FFXV because it's not turn based. There's so much more to FF than taking turns in combat.

    • @Kaytenorg
      @Kaytenorg 8 лет назад +2

      +nextpkfr yeah, but they've stripped away so much more than just the turnbased combat. Like a good story or relatable, likable characters. Just take a look at 13...

    • @Damacius13
      @Damacius13 8 лет назад

      Well, there's a reason FF7, 8 & 9 are the most loved games of the saga, it's both their storyline and the turn based gameplay, most fans still prefer this system. FF is one of my favorite franchise, but I see ffxv and I just don't feel like playing it, the ff concept is just gone.

    • @telltellyn
      @telltellyn 8 лет назад

      FF combat is about strategy, and developing your characters. It's totally arbitrary to say combat is only true to FF if characters wait turns. that by itself means nothing. It's strategy that's important.
      Combat being action based doesn't preclude having strategy. If bosses require strategic thinking, XV's battles are as true to FF as any turned based entry. And I don't think there's any doubt FFXV will have mechanics to develop your party.
      There are at least four teams at Square making FF games. XIII made a lot of mistakes, but you shouldn't judge the entire company off it. A lot of the team behind XV haven't had the opportunity to finish a game since KH2.

    The battle between Seifer and Squall in the very beginning of FFVIII. It was my first FF, and I didn't knew what it was about.. I've been shocked and I fall in love of FF that day :p (I bought FFVII that day too because it was in platinium and very cheap, I was not very sure that it was a good idea :p)
    God bless that holly day.... :)
