    La goma laca y los aceites es lo que avía antes hoy tenemos mejores barnizes la goma laca amarilla la madera y los aceites igual, los barnizes al agua una vez secos son fáciles de lijar,el mate me gusta porque deja la madera en su color natural comentar que yo utilizo para pegar la madera la cola de conejo o buey, que es lo que los modelista de toda la vida utilizamos por si algún día tenemos que desarmar un modelo o alguna pieza la mojamos y se despega con facilidad, es la mejor cola ya que se utiliza en violines extra, yo barnizo las piezas por separado solo dejo las partes que van en coladas para no manchar los hilos . Pero cada maertro tiene su forma de trabajar. Mi enhorabuena por todo esos modelos que son auténticas obras de arte un gran saludo desde Santa Cruz de Tenerife

      ¡Acabas de describir que el pegamento tradicional funciona perfectamente! Lo mismo con los revestimientos de acabado. También utilizo aceites tradicionales y goma laca. Justo antes de aplicar barnices acrílicos, ¡primero imagina cómo restaurar el modelo más tarde! ¡Los barnices acrílicos no se pueden quitar!

      @@OlhaBatchvarov Hello Olha,
      I would like to ask you for some advice. I'm starting a new kit soon and wondering if the gaps between the bulkheads can be filled with pine which is much easier to carve than basswood? I would like to use the same technique as you for planking. Have you ever used pine or is basswood better in curves?
      Just to know, are you still missing material for your Confederacy?

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  2 года назад

      @@denisv4385 Pine can absolutely perfectly replace basswood. The bow on the carrack is filled with this wood... But it seems to me that basswood is easier to sand, although both af them are soft woods!
      I'm gradually buying wood for the CONFEDERCY. I found a great resource where I want to order castello boxwood sheets: modelerssawmill (dot) com. There is delivery in Canada as well - just in case if you need it too (Boxwood, Swiss Pear, Cherry, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Walnut)!
      P.S. I missed your comment - RUclips does not display it in the "unread", and the message was lost among hundreds of daily notifications. Write me a new comment every time - I then respond primarily with the filter "from sponsors"...

      @@OlhaBatchvarov Wow, thank you very much for the advice and the address for the wood, it's now in my bookmarks. Pear wood is hard to find in America and this will be my next crash building.

    When you say sailing ship, most people think of napoleonic frigates and ships of the line, or majestic sleek schooners with 5 masts and thousands of square feet of sail, or maybe a buccaneer/privateer vessel. It’s easy to forget that these ungainly little carracks are what led the way in early exploration and domination of the seas. Watching you build this ship gives an interesting insight to the engineering and it’s construction. Excellent work and thank you for taking the extra step by recording your progress, editing the video and sharing with the world.

    Preciosa carraca, y un excelente trabajo. Yo siempre utilizo para la protección barnices mate y acrílicos

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  20 дней назад

      ¡Los barnices no son una buena protección! ¡Este es el error más común de principiantes y entusiastas del modelismo, para quienes es solo un hobby!
      ¿Qué harás cuando dentro de 40 o 50 años el modelo necesite restauración? ¿Rascar todo el modelo? Utilizo aceites tradicionales y goma laca. Se utilizaron en modelos construidos en el siglo XVIII. La goma laca se elimina fácilmente con alcohol junto con una capa de suciedad que se acumula con el paso de los años. Y la capa de aceite se restaura con la misma facilidad, etc.

    What are your thoughts on plastic model ships?? I would love to see someone of your skill level build one, I'm doing the Nina and Santa Maria by heller right now and they're coming out honestly really well, but it is a completely different world of modeling, where the skill and craftsmanship of wooden ship modeling gives way to detail painting instead.
    You are a truly skilled modeller

    • @OlhaBatchvarov
      @OlhaBatchvarov  11 месяцев назад +1

      I have never tried plastic models. This is really a completely different world - a world of 100% imitation and painting skills to make the model look realistic.
      I have a different "religion" - I prefer wood, metal and textiles, taking into account the fact that everything that was wooden on the boat - must be wooden, and therefore all plastic parts in the kits - I change them to appropriate materials...

    Just looking at this type of ship made me wonder how they managed to stay afloat and not roll over in the sea. It looks very top heavy and tall and this is without sail. To live back then and to sail the oceans must have been an experience. Have you ever tried building your own ship? With your creativity and precision it would be interesting to see how you would envision a ship of your own imagination.
