The great Dan Wheldon, with that livery, red white and black with Klein Tools and Jim Beam, that car was awesome, I hope the good lord keep him where he deserves, with greatest, I miss you man
the final nail in the CART coffin was laid on that day.
This is IRL's first ever road/street course race right?
I don't know. But I suggestion my videos about Project cars if u like the motorsports like me, it is such a beautiful sport than not everyone follows today...
Yup, first road course run in the IRL
Yes
yes
yep, and still one of the best.
first ever road race in IRL History! it was season 10,
How does Jamie Little basically look the same here as now lol
when the irl realized that cart was right all along.
Yeah than they loose 90% of their fan in the next few years
they didn't lose fans, you've got to have fans to lose em.
champ car could get 100000 plus fans at street corses. the irl could get good crouds at places like texas, but generally struggled. they realized street corses were where people flock to and jumped on the bandwagon. sorry to disapoint your flawed view.
let me ask. did you learn statistics from the same people you learnt to spell? i remember irl races, oter than texas and a few others, it was a ghost town, ratings suffered, and no one cared apart from indy. princess at indy in 05 put indycars back into the mainstream, but for the wrong reasons.
lol they also sorta took this race from them
thank you guys for the upload!!
Rest in Peace Gil Deferran, Scot Weldon, and Justin Wilson:(
Today 15 years ago
Cars look awesome back then
.....😮
There's no accounting for taste 😆
best looking open wheel racing cars ever made, these things were.
Great upload. Thanks Indycar.
And F1 doesn’t upload old races, WHY?!?!?!
$$$
Tv contracts dont allow it
Well they did post 2008 Brazil but they delete it within a week
Tony George says "START YOUR ENGINES" 2:37
When the ideology of CART won the american open wheel war.
Unfortunately.
Part of the race is missing around the 50 minute mark.
laps 36-49 missing, apparently?
Wow, no post race interviews? Thanks ESPN.
Makes St. Pete's coverage from this year seem classy by comparison.
No Paul Page, either. They dumped him in favour of a pretty boy who knows as much about racing as the garbageman.
@@NotSteveCook i forgot his name but he was so bad
@@toxy3580 Todd Harris
@@NotSteveCook need to try forget it again
The days when bugets weren't a problem
Is that the reason, why there were only 21 cars entered?
@@lpforever1854 because champ car was still in business despite being near bankruptcy and should've went out of business 2 years prior.
Where irl naturally aspirated
The Lap-by-lap for 2005 IndyCar Series was from Proffessional Fighters League on NBC
no primeiro circuito misto/rua a andretti/green fez primeiro, segundo, terceiro e quarto lugar

????? Offical Pace Truck?!? A SSR?
that is correct: The SSR's first year's involvement included a fleet of twenty-five vehicles, and then last year, it served as the 2005 "Official" Pace Vehicle for the Brickyard 400. It was also used as the "Official Pace Vehicle" for the Indy Racing League and the IRL Green Light tour as well as many others.
Nascar should try a street race. Just to see.
Hahahahahahaha
whelp, here we are now, and it's coming up in early july of this year.
Enge ever injured at this track

Briscoe was really bad lol
2005 wasn't a great year for briscoe. 2008 onwards he was pretty good, though.
