That group of zealots (dark pink/red) is called The Devoted Sentries, and they have a mission to Locate and recover forerunner relics. They never engage you in direct combat. Thats the reason why u only see them in the first mission (using the repeater for information). In the 4th mission because one of them is the commander of an outpost. And finally in the pillar of autumm because u have cortana (and she is a IA based in forerunner tech) and they should not let you go off the planet Sorry if my English is trash
What annoys me is that the Reach art style makes it harder to tell enemies apart in the heat of the moment, Halo CE, 2, and 3 had the right idea with the relatively clean and simplistic designs for characters.
AI may not have the same level of difficulty, because in halo 1 elites vs halo reach elites the fights were more fierce. the AI of the Halo 1 elites is superb, the elites avoid friendly fire, dodge the impacts as best they can, only if necessary or while dying they attack melee
I don't think anyone realized that the elites have inverted plasma rifles, I mean, that those of Halo 1 have those of Reach and those of Reach those of Halo 1
