This is so sad, bc no matter how close you were with someone, no matter how much time you’ve spent with them eventually we all have to go our separate ways and get on without each other. This ending explains that perfectly.
Very true. I went to a boarding school, and made some wonderful friends, but I haven't seen them sice graduation. I have reconnected with some of them on social media, but it's not the same.
I was on a mental hospital years ago, i remember the day i left the hospital, i cried like a baby cuz i made friends, people that i loved, at this day i don't know what's about them, hope they are fine.
I had a very similar experience when I was 16 in a psych hospital. There was a really young boy there who became like a little brother to me. I felt very protective over him, and I knew his life back at home was absolutely horrible and abusive. The night before my release, I wrote a letter for him to open after I'd left, telling him he was so much more, so much better than what his parents had made him feel like he was. I put my phone number in that letter and told him that if the day ever came that he needed help or to find me, I'd be there. The next morning, he gave me a poem he had written and two origami ninja stars he made. I broke down and cried the entire drive home. I didn't want to leave him behind. I wanted to go back, but I couldn't. That was 20 years ago. I never heard from him again. To this day, I have the same phone number. To this day, I have kept the poem and ninja stars. To this day, even though I know it's absurd, I answer calls from unknown numbers just in case. Wherever you are, Steven, I hope life turned out well for you, kiddo.

If you like the movie, you should also read the book. It has some great stories that aren't in the film, and it has deeper insight into the characters. Well worth checking out.
@@anantambisht4895 If I remember correctly, there was a part in the book where Susanna and Lisa run into each other after they had both gotten out. I liked that part. It was like extra closure to the ending. It's been over 10 years since I read it though...
😢 when you put your trust in the one and only through sickness and health to take care of you then end up here. But walk out stronger and finally ready to survive on your own that's freedom
@Jacques Cardinal umm...have u ever heard of the word RELAPSE. The time she spent before reusing it would be clinically classified as her recovery moments however then she relapsed.
Can you even be a recovered borderline? It’s a personality disorder. That’s you, forever. All you can really do is minimise the symptoms and take your medication I thought?
no,,it's not a "you're born with it that's it for life" thing, it develops, and it can be recovered from. You'd stop having the jarring changes in personality traits and and it smoothes into one, as well as other unstable traits, they can be managed and dealt with like anger problems or handling sex drive.
Recovering from a mental illness doesn’t mean you’re “cured”, it means you’ve learned how to live with your symptoms, manage them, and live a productive and fulfilling life despite the illness. With enough years of therapy and medication, people with borderline can recover too
John G. Schmidt, Jesus Christ dude chill. Reminder that this was based off of a true story and this actually happened to a real person, you shouldn't really laugh about it

Susel- well for me I believe in heaven so I believe we all get to be together forever

@@infinitysims7395do you understand that even 50y isn’t forever and in the end it means parting ways?

That’s crazy.

WINONAA MY LOVE
I kinda wish I read the book before watching the movie. I love this movie though, one of my favorites.
They are very different in some ways. Fun fact: the author of the book hated the movie because it dramatized everything.
Awesome movie
If you ever stole something, and enjoyed it....
So sad!
I always loved this scene! It's amazing!
Cry together 👌
And the hospital ended up getting a therapy cat. Who will hopefully help the girls when they are at their lowest. They already show that they love it.
who did she never see again? or do they not say?
she wrote a book and she said she saw lisa holding a baby in a bus stop and they smiled each other.
@Mona It's beautiful, 'cause it shows that Lisa got better.
setheurovision94 Lisa died in real life
@@Osceanix to clarify she had a son and yes she recovered however she sadly died from an heroin overdose

Why did the camera focus her looking at the cab drivers id?
Girl In London X that cab driver is the same cab driver that brought her to the institution in the beginning of the movie.
because that's what she did in the beginning of the movie and it was the same driver
What's the name of the song
Jorge Monjaraz Going Home by Mychael Danna. It's part of the score for the film.

That’s kinda the whole premise of the movie, though. Is she ‘crazy’ or is she just a girl in the 60s?

what's happend with Lisa?
emma Div she got out. She also had a son, but sadly she died a couple of years later due to a heroin overdose
