hearing him talk about a pension and paint for his own pleasure makes it so sad that he got stabbed in his own home by a 19 year old kid wanting to borrow 100 bucks and he never was able to live out his old days the way he maybe envisioned them.
+EVIL9000 Even more sad is the fact that he said he didn't even start making money until the 1970's. That would have made him at least 40 at the time. 35 years separate that from 2005 when he died. He also said in this interview that he stopped exhibiting his work because he wasn't enjoying it, that he wasn't painting for himself and that he wanted to live a quiet life and just be happy painting. He only had another 8 years of happiness after this interview.
Now I know another big artist, very different from those I have met. An artist who does not like to exhibit their paintings. An artist who paints for love not for fame.
I absolutely adore the way this guy thinks. It makes me feel sad he died when I was 5, I would have loved to talk to him and I would have paid a good lot just to watch him paint.
JandJandJandJandJ 2005? You are so young still. Think outside the box. He was born in 1929. You still have so many years ahead of you. If you are indeed a genius, which I doubt, but still follow his path.
Chcialem podziekowac panu, panie Teszner za wrzucanie tych wszystkich filmow tutaj gdyz sam osobiscie nie mam zawiele czasu zeby szukac czegos nowego na stronie pana Dmochowskiego. Sam maluje obrazy a od czasu kiedy zapoznalem sie z tworczoscia Mistrza, moje prace nabraly wiecej barw pod katem wyrazania swoich mysli.
Great observation. Beksiński was very eloquent and super intelligent. Indeed, in translations I try to maintain that expression as much as I can. Thanks for watching.
There's some people that you can only stand in awe of, you can't reach them or hope to catch a clear glimpse of their magnitude, in their own way they transcend everything you have even imagined and redefine the limits of your world, and it's not even cringe to sound this melodramatic describing this man because you really need to at least say that much to do him justice.
+Jack Wyldeck He did, indeed. In his letters Beksinski always complainted about stupid jourinalists' questions and criticts "interpretations" of his works. Mr. Beksinski actually loathed all "interpretations", especially about "war", "communists", "auschwitz", "freedom", "loneliness" and other cliches his paintings were linked to.
A simple, humble person with an enormous sensibility and amazing artistic expression. Thanks very much for the upload and the translation of this interview.
Beautiful interview. The translations don't capture the beauty of what he's saying exactly, but that's to be expected. What an interesting man! Happy to be from Sanok, PL, like Mr. Beksinski.
Oh, how I respect this guy. Beksinski is like: I paint because it looks cool af, there's no any deep meaning behind it. I don't make exhibitins because I don't feel like it, and what you'd bout it?
+chet zar this is like food, for us many ,of Beksinski admirers. for the last two years or so, its been like waiting for a treat, each time, from another continent,,Cant wait for the next video to be uploaded and translated. My favorite youtube videos and a wealth of information. Love your work too also!!!
An amazing artist. I adore his outlook on art and 'interpretation' so so much. What does it mean? What does it all mean? Who the fuck cares... just enjoy it :)
That thing about how showy paints don't mean much, but so-called 'dirty' paints bring in more hues, is something I think that can be brought into other mediums. I'm thinking about writing particularly, since you can write with all this showy Latin and French and Greek and yet get sorely little across, but if you write in, you know, **English**, what you mean and what you wish to bring out from the writing stands out more.
Love his point of view. I hated gallery connections too. I quit them thirty years ago. I paint for me and my family. Occasionally I will donated to a charity auction. I’m happy they always make money for them. My favourite is for libraries.
Except his great artistic legacy Mr. Beksiński raised a son Tomasz, who was an accomplished, iconic and famous, musical radio presenter. Obviously, mostly a lover of gloomy, gothic rock ....An excellent Anglicist who has left behind congenial translations of Monty Python's films. He committed suicide being around 40 in 1999 with the message uttered in his last radio show he is tired and disgusted of the world that is moving towards computer-based secondary barbarization ... already then, long before the smart phones , Facebook and fake news....
I draw and paint for myself too, also being a self-centred egotist. Painting for client commissions or galleries means they have you by the balls... Who needs that when you are nearing the end of your life, and you have a small state pension... Not me, not Beksinski.
Nie on planował i nie on wykańczał obrazy.

He had a very troubled life. His wife died young and his son committed suicide
I didn't know any of this, man what a rough life.
It's tragic that in the period of two years after this interview, both his wife and son died.
@Amir Seth why? Are you a psychopat?
He is my favorite artist of all time and everything he said in this interview warmed my heart
Simply the greatest. God rest his soul.
I didn’t know about him, and now that I do. God has spoken to me.
I love that he looks like the men in my family. He didn't dress or alter himself to make a persona. He was simply Beksinski.
He is a god amongst men.
Thoughts on Poumeyrol?
Now I know another big artist, very different from those I have met. An artist who does not like to exhibit their paintings. An artist who paints for love not for fame.
Skromnosc, minimalizm, spokoj Beksinskiego jest wprost ujmujacy. Wspanialy czlowiek.
Man, what an amazing human. You wouldn't suspect such a dark mind to belong to such a calm and genuine person
Zdzislaw Beksinski is the most fascinating artist ever to be born.
I learned so much from this 7-minute video.
Me too! I think from now on I'll just let the old images evolve into the new ones rather than completely covering them
I have become a new human being on account of this man. I believe we are living in times reflecting his art. I now have to determine what to do....
Exactly, me too, only discovered him not long ago. So modest, honest and amiable. Thanks for translating Andy.❤
Such a humble genius
Genius is literally an understatement. This being was a god.
What an incredible person. He lives and breathes his art in a way that makes it clear that he could not live any other way.
I absolutely adore the way this guy thinks. It makes me feel sad he died when I was 5, I would have loved to talk to him and I would have paid a good lot just to watch him paint.

Juan Ramirez m8 I don’t think he said he is a genius he just wants to talk to beksinski
The Master's voice!
He's exactly how I imagined him.
Thanks for the upload.
Thank you for this upload! I admire his work and technique very much. One of the greatest modern painters.
+Internetter Hey You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoy these videos.
Wow....he is so humble...the way he speaks Polish is so ...unpretentious (I'm a fluent speaker )...I can't get enough.
Genialnie mówi o swojej technice, zero pychy
As an artist, I've also found that previous layers enrich my work. Love Beksinski's work. His attitude is awesome!!
This man is a fucking total genius. To not title his art, because there is no way to describe what’s exactly in his soul. Speaks to my soul.

Chciałbyś pokazać swoje obrazy ?
Zdzisław Beksiński is the father of dystopian surrealism. RIP
It may very well be from the translators skills but I am so impressed with the way he communicates.
Great observation. Beksiński was very eloquent and super intelligent. Indeed, in translations I try to maintain that expression as much as I can. Thanks for watching.

i bet he hated doing interviews too

Cały Beksiński...najlepszy!
A simple, humble person with an enormous sensibility and amazing artistic expression. Thanks very much for the upload and the translation of this interview.
Untouchable with subject matter , talent !!!!!!!! Stunning artist , amazing xx🤔
I love his work.. he became inmortal
Beautiful interview. The translations don't capture the beauty of what he's saying exactly, but that's to be expected. What an interesting man! Happy to be from Sanok, PL, like Mr. Beksinski.
Nah
Genialne. Dziękuję za wszystkie materiały
Only seeing this man's work for the first time today, just amazing.
Wspanialy, skromny czlowiek ❤
My favorite artist! I wish I could have met him.
Real master and genius...
I love this guy. RIP.
I can't imagine what he was thinking about when he was about to die on the ground of his home.
damn, you're right
a pleasure. thank you for this.

hey thanks for translating this man i appreciate it
Thanks for posting this, and for your other vids. Just discovering and learning about Beksiński now.
An amazing artist. I adore his outlook on art and 'interpretation' so so much. What does it mean? What does it all mean? Who the fuck cares... just enjoy it :)
He is awesome .
Amore Beksiński!
thank you andy teszner for sharing and subbing!

Imagine if HR GIGER and Beksinski did a collaborative piece
The best
Very interesting!

suhca fascinating perspective
Lol I fucking love this guy
Pozdrawiam POLSKĘ... yeah and good day everyone
Does anyone know any videos or articles where Beksinski talks about his influences or inspirations for painting?
jawdropping lol I felt dumb !

Geniusz.
WOW
Weirdest thing is he seems like a normal grampa. Giger has more of a Frankenstein´s sidekick vibe.
✔️👌👌🍁
Honesty.
I recognize "Chenqui" from a Borat.
wow wow wee wah!

i hope the one who killed him still rots in prison
I can translate it for you into Spanish if you want 😊

Truly larger than life. A creative genius. It really hurts to learn about his life and death.

funny fact he never believe himself and also he said noone will be like his paintings...

It is such a shame his life ended so soon. Most people are dispensable, but not him.
kinki gruvi this is a bit of a sick comment
Alrighty, that's a little creepy
