This was absolutely incredible. Despite not really knowing what was going on, I was absolutely mesmerized the entire time. The scoring definitely elevated this as well.
Thank you @Kit-E kat! I appreciate your supportive comments. Thanks for being kind on RUclips. This is one of my most beloved projects-scoring Melies’ classic silent films. Glad you enjoyed it!!
This is a much better score than the other version on RUclips. I thought the music went really badly with the film, which really sucked the magic from it. This score was so great that it was like watching it for the first time again.
Wow, thank you Caleb, I really appreciate your encouraging words--I tried very hard in my score to support the film and the beauty/magic that is already there. Thank you!
you prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf during the lockdown xD
These stories are always the same. Forget about all the female fairy-sailors who drowned and were not revived by the magical whatever-she-was. As long as the main characters are okay it's fine. I have to wonder if the fact the companions of the main male character did nothing to rescue the main female character was supposed to be a humorous part of the story? I mean he did all the hard things and they seemed to be just along for moral support. While the people who made this film obviously put in a lot of work on the backgrounds and the like, the part where they showed the ship in the storm was laughable, even for the times. I suppose slow motion would have helped a lot there had it been available, but still. Seems like they could have done better on that. Even painted cutouts of the ship with cutouts of waves would have been better than that. After all, everything else was painted cutouts.
Found this putting up our own Rock score of the same movie! This is a fantastic score!

@@stevejauncey3086 That's a great idea!!
12:10 First whale I've seen with 2 blowholes.
A bit embarrassing that the (modern) opening title MISSPELLS THE NAME OF THE MOVIE. Should be "des," not "de."
Also, "Kingdom of the Fairies" would be a more accurate translation than "Kingdom of Fairies." I suspect the two mistakes are related.
