I know you have heard this a lot, but we have to credit you for your knowledge of the history of the great railroading history this state once had. It's always a pleasure to read your captions and to listen to your commentary. Truly enjoyable.
Just for general knowledge; if you went west of A-town to Pa Rt 100 and went South into Macungie Pa just as you cross the tracks on your left side is Railfan Park for your viewing pleasure
Nive video! We like to walk on the rail trail next to the river and enjoy the building of trains and the pass thrus at canal Park and sand island nice catching (oscar) 63v also
If you haven't done it yet. I invite you to come down and visit Macungie or CP Alburtis. Both places offer great views for railfanning. I film at both these places for my videos for my channel. In Alburtis you can catch the H11 working the old Catasauqua and Fogelsville line.
The Portland Secondary is still used, there are several customers on the line( Ardent Mills is the biggest customer), the interchange with the Delaware and Lackawanna at Slateford is currently not used, the interchange is done at Taylor yard now.
@trains21 Just wanted to let you know that the Merchants Square Train Exhibit is actually closing. They are tearing down the layouts and selling all the model trains, buildings, etc.
Just like Roadside America. I never got to the Merchants Square one when it was open. I did go to Roadside America a few times in the 80's, as well as Choo Choo Barn in Strasburg and Northlandz in Flemington, NJ which was sold and reopened. The original owners retired. I was also at one in Lehighton called Pocono Unlimited which is no more. The Merchants Square Mall is actually being razed. And they left the Roadside America signs up along old 22 despite that it closed permanently and the buildings and stuff from the layout were auctioned off.

Nice video!

Hey there AC!! Good to see you're posting again!!
Speaking of Enola shopsc alot of masterpieces came out of those craftmans ffrom electrical to welding& fabricating to their original paint
Some GE Hammerheads pulling some container freight or intermodal
Me being a very big Upper Lehigh Railfan, I really enjoyed the start of the video. Great video!!
Nive video! We like to walk on the rail trail next to the river and enjoy the building of trains and the pass thrus at canal Park and sand island nice catching (oscar) 63v also

Good ole Lehigh valley. South bedlam baby
The old Union Pacific doesn't come by here much anymore.
those lower tracks at 6:00 are those narrow gauge or is that an optical illusion?
Nice!
What happened to the line to Portland?
The Portland Secondary is still used, there are several customers on the line( Ardent Mills is the biggest customer), the interchange with the Delaware and Lackawanna at Slateford is currently not used, the interchange is done at Taylor yard now.
From 3:46 to 6:21 - is that a live steam railway or miniature trains?
Never mind, check at 13:00
At 5.24 the track in the foreground - is that a narrow gauge tramway or a distorted view?
At 1:20 their would’ve been a roundhouse right about where your standing.

Be careful...its Norfolk "the derail king" Southern on the move.
Just had the big 1 in east palinstine ohio, made nationwide news,
Good stuff! I’m really enjoying your videos! But , seriously are you the Alcoguy? 😉
Hey not from the area of pa do you know where the Lehigh meets the reading line supposedly the reading sees around 65 trains a day
Nothing in my life could have prepared me for witnessing a train being humped. 21:09
Didn’t think Allentown wasn’t railfan friendly well may be better off sticking to the New Jersey part of the Lehigh valley line then
hay AC Fix the Video it Stop at 50.47
Seems OK for me 🤔
ChainsawN&W1218, alot of Railroad history in PA,Bethlehem is definitely the birthplace of steel, alot of IM,auto rack and manifest action!👍🛤

Engineers run trains, not conductors.
Engineer drives it. Conductor runs it
