“Continuous advances to make the cars go faster” - every subsequent generation has been slower than the predecessor. Take the Ferrari F2002 and those v10 era cars who had to be put on groove tires to make them slower, then the 2014 cars who were initially slower than the v8 cars, then the 2022 era cars which are still 1-2 seconds a lap slower than the 2021 era cars. If you put a Ferrari F2002 on slicks it would decimate anything f1 could come up with today even the w11. F1 technically in terms of raw speed has been stagnant for a long time due to immense weight requirements and the cars being as large as ford f150 trucks.
