In the novelisation, Jill says she tries to encourage the emotions and sadness each time she puts down a zombie because, if she starts to forget they were once people, she might lose a part of her own humanity. Powerful thoughts. That's why she says what she does to Mikhail.
Cops are trained to assume any human being, including children and old ladies, are dangerous threats for something as small as exiting the passenger seat of a car if a cop pulls a car over. Countless cases of cops shooting people, including children and teens, for playing with toy guns or even water guns. Yap. Just recently played through it to prove to myself that I still knew the location of them. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but RE3 is one of my favorite resident evils maybe it’s the nostalgia of the original Trilogy or maybe it was the feeling of impending doom it made me feel that was some how comforting but I love this game
I think Carlos loses hope at the clock tower because the last 2 of his men died in such quick succession that it demoralized him. Also, there’s a scene you can get where Nicholai blows up in the gas station and as a result, Carlos shows up at the pharmacy instead, it’s revealed that random merc Nicholai killed was actually carlos’ friend and that added to Nicholai and mikhails death makes that scene hit a lot harder.
I took Jill's line "you want STARS? I'll give you STARS" to be her seeing Nemesis as an embodiment of Umbrella itself and so, by finally defeating it, she was doing it for herself and her friends after everything the corporation had done to them.
This is a good video but I can't say I agree about the quality of the game. I can't really imagine caring about plot conveniences in a resident evil game.
Easily the scariest and most replayable ps1 resi game to date imo. Love Jill, love nemesis, love QOL movement mechanics, love different item and jump-scare placements on subsequent playthroughs as well as altered puzzles. Love having a hard mode since Re2 is just way too easy and forgiving, and getting Jill’s diary just made me want to keep replaying. 3D models look like humans and not action figures. Game starts out with a straight line to a zombie and a safe space to give you a false sense of security before you’re bombarded by the highest zombie count yet. Man, this game is excellent. Might not add as much lore as the others, but getting scared is why I play these games, and this game is exceptionally that to this day, scary as shit.
Hard mode is just normal mode, as easy mode gives you pretty much every gun and ammo for it from the start. RE2 had a hard mode on PC, I played it as Leon but I didn't like it. The only notable difference was that zombies dont get knocked back most of the time with the handgun, but it essentially felt the same once you get the shotgun and later the magnum. I think RE2 feels mostly easy because of the amount of ammo, and perhaps also because most bosses are usually slow and can be killed before they even touch you if you take a step back and unload your most powerful weapon on them like a mounted turret Edit: nevermind, the entire first part of my comment was already in the video
RE3 is definitely my favourite, specially since it has plenty of replayability with the Mercenaries rewards and the multiple route choices. Also Nemesis was an exquisite addition, it was *cheff kiss*
1:03:55 I think it would've been cool since this fight takes place in a graveyard if the grave digger's movements made human remains come out of the ground.
Ive _NEVER_ used ammo on the Nemesis at the rail cannon. Ive always kited him into the line of the cannons' fire. Honestly didn't even know you could hurt him enough for him to go back to munch on the tyrant. Craziness.
Also, on that end nitpick, seeing stars (to my understanding) is becoming concussed to the point that your vision fades into that static/fuzz that you see if you push on your eyes, which basically looks like tv static. Seeing that as a result of being concussed indicates a major brain injury - and i think the line therefore makes sense under this framework. In comparison to Leons "Game Over" or Claires "You lose big guy" i think Jills' further makes sense as this obviously (to me) doesnt kill Nemesis, only causing him to go into a regenerative state. The missile will atomize him, but making the 'lights go out' for Nemesis (a line i would argue is comparable here) is all she can really expect before fleeing and assuming the explosion will do the rest
Interesting thing about Dario he actually leaves his family to die in the comic he abandoned his wife & daughter covering his ears so he doesn’t hear them scream 😓
I still can’t believe this channel is this underrated, RUclips really puts 0 effort on giving people quality recommendations. Jesus, it’s been 3 years and I’ve never seen such unique and fun reviews of my favorite video game franchise ever. Bro keep up the work, it’s freaking fantastic.
I preferred Jill's character in this RE3. R3make crippled her with generic 'badass girl-boss' syndrome. Despite the post-traumatic stress disorder intro cutscene, modern Jill had none of the humanity/self-doubt shown by original Jill. Nemesis was much more intimidating in original RE3 because he took advantage of the player's limitations within the rules of the game mechanics. RE3 Jill reacted appropriately to Nemesis: her terrified expression and option to flee the first encounter, hiding behind the counter in the restaurant. If she fired off Re3make one-liners like "Its my turn, b**h!" it would have been less scary.
I think you're misinterpreting the S.T.A.R.S line. Because when Jill says "You want S.T.A.R.S, I'll give you S.T.A.R.S" I think she's just referring to herself as S.T.A.R.S and not actual stars.
It has two meanings. One implies she is going to hurt Nemesis, ie “seeing stars”, and the other is that she is giving the beating herself as a STARS member. The two meanings is why I like it.
@@WitchTaunterI really doubt that. Because she specifically says “you WANT S.T.A.R.S.??” in reference to his one dialogue throughout the game. The ‘other’ meaning would suggest Nemesis has been expressing desire for the objects in space, lol
@@mywhychromosome Why would it have to be that? Nemesis expresses a desire for STARS, and in the end Jill gives it to him as both a beating that makes him see stars, and a retaliation as a member of STARS. Both are phrases that turn around the meaning and intention of "stars".
@@WitchTaunter Ok, I see what you’re getting at. As in, that’s not what Nemesis is asking for, but Jill’s gonna give it to him just the same. I still just personally feel like the concept of a monster like Nemesis “seeing stars” like a boxer (especially from being shot at close range by a .357) is a bit odd, but that’s just my perspective.
@@mywhychromosome Lol that's fair. I'd say that considering what Nemesis has survived before, it isn't impossible to assume that a magnum wouldn't kill him, but rather just knock him unconscious, which could be equated to seeing stars. I do however acknowledge several years after I made this vid that it might be a stretch.
Raccoon City is a company town where a single corporation control the politics and economics of a community, which is near total control. Too many people on Umbrella’s payroll especially the city’s officials and the infrastructure are funded by Umbrella.
This video is simply perfect. I discovered your channel on a RUclips recommendation because I love watching retrospective videos. I'm from Brazil and I was excited when your video was suggested. Now I'm going to watch the next ones. In fact, Resident Evil 3 is my favorite game in the saga and, even so, I managed to agree with all the problems you highlighted in your analysis. That's why I love these types of videos. Thank you very much for this work of art! If I could, I would help you by making a donation, but I only have money for rent and food. :( Congratulations one more time!
Watching this having never played OG RE3 (but have played RE3make) I was surprised to recognise Jill's voice actor as Catherine Disher AKA Jean Grey from X-Men.
Funny thing about the final Nemmy fight, All people I've seen never get to the point of doing enough damage to Nemesis so he retreats to eat the Tyrant. They simply lure Nemesis to the narrow path by standing in it for a moment.
The strain of the T-Virus that Nemesis produces can regenerate and reanimate corpses even if their brains has been destroyed. Brad coming back as a zombie isn't a plothole.
@@WitchTaunter no, not really since Brad was the only character to really sustain this kind of injury from Nemesis. this info has only really been divulged through developer interviews, I read about it on the Project Umbrella forums. It's kind of a half assed explanation, but official as we're going to get. Tbh the absurdity of it might be why Brad simply dies to zombies in the Remake, although I like his fate to Nemesis more.
@@WitchTaunter kudos to your retrospective series, I listen to them on my way to and from work every day, they've been keeping me entertained so far :)
@@gabrielhelms2040 Oh yeah, I read about that but if it isn't in the game itself, I don't consider it canon as it feels more like the devs trying to retroactively cover their mistake. I also prefer this death to Nemesis rather than the remake. And thank you so much for the kind comment! It means a lot that you like these videos, they mean a lot to me.
In one of the Resident Evil comics, Dario panics so much in the street that he flees leaving his wife and daughter behind. The game is a bit different as you do return to the warehouse and you see the body of a little girl out front. It's implied that after being seperated, his daughter found her way to the warehouse (some have said its a warehouse that Dario owns), and he hears her being attacked, but because Jill left the door to the warehouse unlocked, the zombies broke in and Dario died before reaching his daughter. Kinda dark yeah? And kudos man for showing some love to RE3's save room theme. Many don't talk about it, and it's a shame. For years it was my all time favorite, but after hearing the save room theme's of Code Veronica & Resident Evil Dead Aim, RE3's for me personally got knocked down to third place. Also you touched on the enemies and them being in one area, then gone the next. I can see why this is a problem, but as someone who's been playing RE3 since its debut, I have something I think can clear this up. See, unlike RE2 and RE1, you are on the streets of Raccoon City, a city, which means, enemies are going to wander. That was one of the coolest things I loved about RE3, just standing in areas and hearing the moans of the zombies be carried by the winds, never knowing where an enemy was and then coming back to an area and finding them gone, or finding a hoard in an area you ran through before. Personally for me, I think this is a brilliant design as it shows how alive the city is (no pun intended) The SD Perry novel had the time skip but if I remember right they extended it to about a week. Jill was in and out of consciousness most of the time and wasn't really verbal, Carlos stayed with her while eating cans of fruit he found in the church (if it was the church). When she wakes up, like her, she tells Carlos she's been infected so since he wasn't there, and probably cleaned the wound after, he may not have understood that the nemesis could infect. Least that's what I always thought. If I remember right the novel talks about Carlos having either cracked or broken ribs from the fight with the nemesis too, which is why he didn't go to the hospital or venture too far as to not worse his state. The Novel also states that Jill believes she picked up some kind of immunity from the Spencer Mansion that at least stunts the rapid transformation. Or as I personally think, the Nemesis Virus is different than how the T & G virus works since every virus does seem to be unique. And yeah I gotta say Ive always been kinda critical of how they handled the vaccine in the hospital. Like, he just goes there and knows? I wish it had played out like Carlos realizing Jill wasnt getting better and needed supplies, runs into nicholai who says his usual words about being a supervisor but when he gets blown out the window, he drops a small metal case and inside is one part of the vaccine, instructions about it, and this prompts Carlos to explore the rest of the facility to make the virus to cure Jill. Also, Nicholai's death, that's the non canon event, i think they went with what they did because they just needed to wrap thing ups. Canon wise he lives as I believe he's mentioned only once after this game. Also THANK YOU!!!! Thank you for seeing the bubbles as where the Nemesis's body was. I don't think, other than me, I've heard ANYONE mention that before.
The thing with Nemesis, the more damage he takes, the more unstable the Nemesis parasite becomes so the programming becomes unstable so it'll attack anything
I think “You want S.T.A.R.S., I’ll give you S.T.A.R.S.!”, I think she means that she’ll show Nemesis what the group is all about, not actual stars. He hunts S.T.A.R.S. members, not actual stars. And I think it could make sense Nikolai getting killed by Nemesis, if he assumed he was Jill. I mean sounds kind of dumb, but he is a human turned into a monster, so it’s up to make mistakes. My thing is, how does Jill not flash us in a tube top. Her fashion is also very Japanese for that time and also caused a lot of her fans to be disappointed with her becoming a “sex symbol”. I don’t like they they gave her that outfit (the remake’s outfit was way more accurate to the time as well), but I also don’t think it changed my mind of her. I just thought many of the puzzles were unreasonably dumb and harder than they needed to be.
Why would any fans be disappointed by her "becoming a sex symbol"? I don't recall seeing any large group of RE fans decrying that. If there was a survey / poll of fan sentiment, i haven't seen it
@@josedorsaith5261 This was back in the 90’s, and I assume it’s more reviewers than the who fanbase, but it was more the fact they saw a strong female character that was covered up in the original game now in a tube top and skirt (which honestly is kind of silly to be running around a zombie infested city). So they basically were seeing her as any other female video game character that was over sexualized like other characters (example Lara Croft), but I’m sure it was women who dresses her that way, because Heather in SH3 was dressed by female employees, giving her the popular style of skirt and sleeves turtleneck, due to it being popular in Japan at the time (Heather in RE4 was also a parody of Heather, so that’s why they look like each other). I personally think Jill’s outfit was a silly choice, but not bad, since it’s a science fiction video game, and looks nice. I mostly read people not liking it on Wikipedia, so I assume it was reviewers.
3:41 Sorry to be a nerd, but wasn't the mission. They sent the Bravo to investigate said murders... when radio contact was lost, they sent Alpha team to find Bravo team. So Jill wasn't there to investigate the murders, but to find out what happened to Bravo team. In reality, Wesker wasn't working for Umbrella, he was working for himself and using Umbrella pretending to work for them same way he was using the Stars. He had his own personal agenda and was playing all sides.
That's all correct. I was just giving a very brief and slimmed down version of events. Since Bravo and Wesker wasn't really relevant to this game I sorta skimmed it. And by "works for umbrella" I more meant that he DID work for umbrella and knew what he was getting STARS into.
I used to know how to always solve the Clock Puzzle on my first try. The key is to see where the dial hand is at on the picture depicting the present, depening on how further back or further forward the clock hands are on that picture you can figure out the placements easily. The only issue is that I completely forgot to write it down, I use to solve it easily in one try by muscle memory, but due to me not playing RE3 as often as I used to I completely forgot how to solve it on one try. Whenever I am up to it I can post which crystal goes to which picture based on the dial hand as a helpful tip.
I really disagree with a lot of the things said here. First off the amount of ammo. Sorry but that was a problem in both 1 and 2. You can get to the end of both while killing everything in front of you and still having a lot to spare. Now I don't know if you just missed most ammo in those games but this happened to me in both games on my first playthrough. I've even seen people play RE1 while killing all the enemies (All as in every single one in the entire game and not just the ones you see). The dodge not working. While it is true that at times it can be inconsistent, it by no means "does not work". With a bit of practice you can get really good with the timing, and the problem of dodging into a wall can often be a byproduct of bad positioning on the players part. I'd much rather it be included rather then not, since it is a lot more helpful than harmful. The idea that RE3 doesn't really feel like it should be the next numerical game and that it didn't evolve much like 2 did from 1. As someone who only got into the series about 2 years ago, I could not disagree with this more. While 2 did increase the production values and things like the visuals, that's about all it did. In terms of gameplay what new addition did it add? Well you can change the grenade launcher ammo without having to waste it, that's cool. And the characters now visually showed how much health they had. But other then that, nothing was that different. RE3 on the other hand introduced a dodge mechanic, gunpowder (which brings a whole new level of decision making. Do you want to save it and combine it to get more ammo, or do you want to use it now if you really need it. But wait, if you just use normally without combining it, you can get enhanced ammo a lot quicker.), running on stairs manually, a 180 turn (thank god), and Nemesis (The most unique enemy so far in the series). Really feels like there's a lot bias for RE2 online. While I see why people like it over 1, I just can't say it's a "perfect sequel". For one, I think 1 had better pacing. 1 Mixed exploration and bosses a lot better than 2. In 2 there is no boss until you're done with the RPD, and the game turns really linear with all the bosses being in that part of the game. The RPD in general gives you less freedom then the mansion in 1. The gaming brit show showcases this really well in his RE 1 and 2 videos. Honestly in my opinion all 3 original RE games hover around a 9/10 for me, with small details separating them. 1 has my favorite location and atmosphere (the mansion isolated in the woods was always scarier personally then being in a middle of a city, and the increased action focus also reduced the fear factor) and the best pacing. However it has really bad voice acting (although I think the story is good) and the worst visuals of the series. 2 has amazing visuals and a better presentation in the cutscenes, the most replay value with 4 campaigns and a bunch of side content. But it has the worst pacing, and is overall a lot more linear. 3 is the best one gameplay wise, no question about that, and Nemesis is one of the greatest additions ever. But it has my least favorite setting. My personal ranking might be something like 3, 1, 2 (but this changes a lot, and once again I think they are all a 9/10 with each one being the best in something).
I'm mega late to this, but I've always thought that there should've been a 15 to 30 min long tutorial section that takes place in Jill's apartment complex to show the controls. Then out into the streets without the warehouse. OR. Start in the warehouse. Either one
Fantastic! If I could make a suggestion. Time stamps. I sometimes watch these long videos many times over the years. This way I can get to my favorite parts quicker. Keep up the great work.
I took Jill saying they in the opening cutscene to refer to people like cheif irons who knew about umbrella's evil experiments who then refused to stop them. They suffered from their refusal to fight. Also it is very likely that Jill knew Cheif Irons was working with umbrella, as in RE2 there is a note stating that the fbi had done an investigation on cheif irons where they then inform Chris about this connection. Chris and Jill are really close, to where she is the only one to know chris's hideout as shown in the re3 epiglogue so it's also likely Jill knew about iron's connection to umbrella.
I just want to say that your RE Retrospective videos have got me hooked and are well made, I hope one of your videos gets recommended by YT at some point as they are heavily underrated.
Thanks for making me laugh a lot. I feel identified. I really hate how awful dodge nemesis was, so I just ran from him. But sure, it was the most tense re game for having him. And yep, Claire, Rebecca, Billy, Cherry, and even Chris were more interesting characters.
I was always under the impression jill was contemplating suicide prior to the outbreak and mind u that was 12 yr old me- i guess i took influence from dawn of the dead how peter was going to commit suicide at the end but opted out at the last minute. of course i thought Racoon city actually fell within a few days rather weeks.
People mod this game and it takes work but it may add some replay. The mods add more Nemesis encounters and even clone Rocket Launcher Nemesii, which can be cool to see Jill dodging rockets so they hit each other. This game is one of the best games ever. And you can make it harder by saying, "hand gun only" or have very limited ammo. And then you'll see how hard the vanilla game can be. Just make your own rules like that, to make it harder; you might even die! I've died with no ammo before and it's dreadful
The first cutscene with the RPD's last stand used to scare the hell out of me as a kid. After seeing the cutscene, my 8 year old brain thought that every time I heard a large collection of sirens, it meant there was a bunch of police officers fighting a battle against a hoard of zombies 😂
Love this!! Never thought of any such holes in the game, really interesting!! Also, never thought I'd stick around for the whole video! You just earned a sub, well done! You deserve much more subs!
I’ve been playing RE3 for almost decades lol and I still don’t understand the stones and clocks puzzle in the clock tower. I just put the stones in random spots until it unlocks lol
To be honest, Resident Evil 3 was my absolute favourite back then, right after i've played Resident Evil 2 on the N64 (back then, you have to be lucky to get a copy on the N64 in germany, i had the luck of having a good friend who owned it), a year or two later, i've played RE3 on a Playstation at a friends home and i was hooked, just to be disappointed a couple of hours in, because his disk was scrached and we couldn't get past the clock tower. Later on, i've got my own copy (of the PS1 version, just to play it on an Emulator on PC, because i hadn't a PS1), just to finally finish this game and i had a lot of a fun with this game.
Jaysus man 6/10? Ill admit i spedran this video but i appreciate you made this an hour and a half. There are a ton of narrative flaws in 3, thats old news. So much that i wouldnt expect a resident evil game without it! Within 3 years they made this trilogy which is, insane. Stuff was always going to fall through the cracks tho they did try to patch this with the novels, who cares? I think what us diehards love about 3 is the fact you finally get to explore raccoon city. It was a huge payoff. Only those that have a big love for 1 and 2 know what im talking about. And i havent even played the hd version yet! The step up in action and battling it out on the street was a huge release after all the lonely wandering and conserving of the earlier games. This game was more a celebration of the apex of raccoon citys narrative. One thing i undoubtedly agree on is, hard mode is too fucking easy. There are stacks of ammo in this game, it is impossible to run out for long, incredibly easy to ground everything and move on. No matter what combinations of the gun powder i try (only magnum ammo, or freeze rounds) you will always have enough which i think definitely takes away from any kind of challenge. But still, its my favourite game ever, number 1 comfort game for nostalgic reasons i wont go into, and if you grew up in the 90s its a perfect snapshot of that time. Oh, and the music is pretty great too.
I love this content and conversation, the beginning dialogue, I feel, is to present the feelings of guilt for STARS not being able to stop the outbreak, rather than blaming the citizens of Racoon City themselves. Perhaps a loss in translation and script reading by direction could be the issue. Idk really. As for the disagreement, I too enjoy this game emensly and have played it most of the classic trilogy. So my opinion is biased.
Wew lad Very nice The script felt much very focused in the video, and it stays on a very fine track for the whole video. And an hour long you mad lad. Very few distractions, but they were run observations that added to the whole, so bless. Great stuff
For me, RE3 represents the explosion of the franchise. 1 was well received, 2 was phenomenal. By the time 3 was nearing completion snd release, we also had a port of re2 coming to the n64, we had the (layer canceled) gbc port of re1, code Veronica was nearing completion on the dreamcast which most of us kids would not soon be lucky to get between the price(kids not working adults) and the fact the console sold out so soon. We also had the "Romero resident evil movie" in pre production. And yet here, on the ps1 we alrrady had, we were getting another game assuring Jill Valentine, s game woth reworked mechanics, randomization, choices, and a stalker enemy, while also having a finality feeling to it in the promo arts. This game was ay the center of the explosion of RE as a franchise, and I really miss that time period in this series
Not sure about your complaint regarding the amo amount. You’d have like 30+ grenade rounds of each kind at the end of RE2, but in that game, you didn’t have a constant pursuer like Nemesis (Mr X is a joke compared to him). So yeah, both games gives you tons of amo, especially at the end, but it’s at least justifiable in this game
@@WitchTaunter i feel like it’s a staple for most RE titles. You start off weak, trying your best to survive and gather resources. But at the end of your journey, you see your character annihilate everything that’s on their way, clearly indicating theirs and yours progression
I love absolutely everything about the mainline resident evil entries! Everything from the first resident evil to resident evil code Veronica! When resident evil three came out in 1999 it was one of the first games I got for Christmas and I was so happy to get it that I enjoyed every single moment of it and never even thought about questioning all the reused content etc.?!? With all that said I think resident evil goes down in history as one of my favorite game franchises ever and I still play one through three and code Veronica to this very day!
Great vid my man you earned a new subscriber. One thing that bothers me is the amount of ammo the game gives you being regarded as a negative when every Silent Hill 2 review/retrospective/critique I've watched doesn't mention the amount of ammo you can find but criticize this game for the same thing. They're both survival horror games where you aren't meant to kill every enemy but I played SH2 recently and finished the game on hard action mode and I had over 300 pistol bullets, 150 shotgun shells and around 60 rifle shots before going to the final boss and it drops so much healing compared to this game. Maybe it's because of SH2's story because in SH3 that game is way more stingy with ammo and health drops on normal than SH2 on hard. I understand that some people like more ammo in their games than others but I've always thought that this particular criticism at least for me isn't true. Maybe it's just the differences between Silent Hill type survival horror and classic RE survival horror where RE is more about item/inventory management where as SH is more about psychological horror and throws the item/inventory management out the window.
You may say I'm just bad at the game but I hated the nemesis boss fights. You have to keep moving which means the camera angle keeps changing whilst you're fighting. Half the time I was fighting him I couldn't even see nemesis and the other half he was knocking me down then hitting me again before Jill had a chance to get back to her feet. I basically just won eventually out of luck rather than mastering the fight but it took me hours. Also sometimes he just doesn't go where you want him to, his movements is unpredictable. That fight at the end with the valves was a nightmare too because he just moves out of the way of the spray unless you get him right in front of the valves. Sometimes I would aim directly at the valves and shoot and they wouldn't work because I was aiming at the wrong angle by 5°

Definitely not a 6/10, but hey, that’s his opinion!
I think RE2 feels mostly easy because of the amount of ammo, and perhaps also because most bosses are usually slow and can be killed before they even touch you if you take a step back and unload your most powerful weapon on them like a mounted turret
Edit: nevermind, the entire first part of my comment was already in the video
i cant believe you had me captivated in a retrospective for an hour and a half. good job!

I think that RE3 has the best soundtrack of all RE. I love the heavy melancholy that comes with most of the themes.
Didn’t think there existed someone who loved Nemesis as much as I do! But, I’m glad there is: he’s the best boi.
My favorite game in the franchise ❤️
In the late 90s, if you haven't played RE1 or RE2 and you start with 3... Expect confusion.
The original trilogy is what I grew up playing and absolutely still love this series still now.
For real
I preferred Jill's character in this RE3. R3make crippled her with generic 'badass girl-boss' syndrome. Despite the post-traumatic stress disorder intro cutscene, modern Jill had none of the humanity/self-doubt shown by original Jill.
Nemesis was much more intimidating in original RE3 because he took advantage of the player's limitations within the rules of the game mechanics.
RE3 Jill reacted appropriately to Nemesis: her terrified expression and option to flee the first encounter, hiding behind the counter in the restaurant. If she fired off Re3make one-liners like
"Its my turn, b**h!" it would have been less scary.
My favorite OG PS1 resident evil game. Awesome time in life, awesome game
I do however acknowledge several years after I made this vid that it might be a stretch.
best music ambiance and just the feeling of the game is CRAZY good
no evidence but a dead captain to sell your case - line got me cracking up
Raccoon City is a company town where a single corporation control the politics and economics of a community, which is near total control.
Congratulations one more time!
Watching this having never played OG RE3 (but have played RE3make) I was surprised to recognise Jill's voice actor as Catherine Disher AKA Jean Grey from X-Men.
Give the original a try! It has a lot of content that the remake missed and it nails the atmosphere
Great video, can't wait until the next one. I think, never heard about that one before.
1:09:43 My guy he was trying to kill Jill and Nemesis does not was his kill to be stolen, I think that would be obvious.
Good quality my guy and I love the animations!
LOL @18:40 ... "You hear Nemesis theme music blaring and you turn around just to see...." (Grooooowwwwlllll)
Tom and Jerry lmfao
Funny thing about the final Nemmy fight, All people I've seen never get to the point of doing enough damage to Nemesis so he retreats to eat the Tyrant. They simply lure Nemesis to the narrow path by standing in it for a moment.
God this game amazes me even after all these years
The strain of the T-Virus that Nemesis produces can regenerate and reanimate corpses even if their brains has been destroyed. Brad coming back as a zombie isn't a plothole.
Is there any evidence of this happening at any other point besides Brad?
@@WitchTaunter
In the cut scene with Brad and Jill in the bar. A zombie chomped on him. So game logic Brad is infected
I just can't get enough of Resident Evil. This 1h 30min video was super fun. Subscribed!
Personally for me, I think this is a brilliant design as it shows how alive the city is (no pun intended)
The SD Perry novel had the time skip but if I remember right they extended it to about a week.
Regarding Dario, that’s a Chinese Manhua of the game’s plot. I don’t believe that’s part of the official canon for RE3.
Nemesis lost its head (his own brain) before the last fight. And the parasite in him takes him completly over
This brought back so many memories. Thanks for the hard work and great presentation.
The thing with Nemesis, the more damage he takes, the more unstable the Nemesis parasite becomes so the programming becomes unstable so it'll attack anything
Yeah, previous comment rescinded. Wonderful work, man, I'mma check out more of your videos
Agreed
And by "works for umbrella" I more meant that he DID work for umbrella and knew what he was getting STARS into.
i see videogame essay video, i subscribe.

You did a great job 💯by far the best Resident Evil Retrospective Series. Genuinely Appreciate you dude seriously 😎💪
Always great to share a common love for the icon of manliness, the seven feet of meat and leather, the legend himself, Nemesis.
For a second I thought you were talking about Carlos
1:27:30 the music bro ....
Carlos want some of that Jill sandwich
I like to think that she thought of the line when she was ill and was just waiting for nemesis to die to use it
Great series mate! Dont worry, I'm impressed that you beat it with Nicholai!

Obsidian- past, amber - present, crystal - future
Fantastic video!
I'm mega late to this, but I've always thought that there should've been a 15 to 30 min long tutorial section that takes place in Jill's apartment complex to show the controls. Then out into the streets without the warehouse. OR. Start in the warehouse. Either one
Great work! These Resident Evil videos should have more views 👍

great. I enyjoy your Resi retrospectives very much :)
when I played the og resident evil 3 it took me 3h 00m and 01second :D
Been waiting on this one! Thanks for a solid retrospective once again!
Fantastic! If I could make a suggestion. Time stamps. I sometimes watch these long videos many times over the years. This way I can get to my favorite parts quicker. Keep up the great work.
I have now added timestamps/chapters, thank you for the request.
This video was fucking amazing
At 8:09, when Dario speaks, is that Wayne Knight??? And at 14:56 Brad's VA shouting reminds me so much of Jonny Yong Bosch haha
This is quality content. I really hope the algorithm picks up your channel, cause your criminally undersubbed for this level of quality. Subbed!
Thanks for making me laugh a lot. I feel identified. I really hate how awful dodge nemesis was, so I just ran from him. But sure, it was the most tense re game for having him. And yep, Claire, Rebecca, Billy, Cherry, and even Chris were more interesting characters.
Noice video, watched the whole thang.
The game that solidified RE’s system “Big Unstoppable Chase You Monster” and exploring fking R.C.P.D. AGAIN
Is this the pc version? I've never seen this game look this clean!
Love this!! Never thought of any such holes in the game, really interesting!!
Also, never thought I'd stick around for the whole video! You just earned a sub, well done!
You deserve much more subs!
It's the best of the series
Eh. It's my personal favorite, but I'd be lying if I said it was better than RE2.
Views should have been larger, this is quality work
I had a great time watching this video! Are you doing them for the remakes?! would love your full take!
Yeah Im going to do it on every game as I come to them in order of release. So unfortunately the remakes are kinda far away for now
Great video even though it sounds like a cross between kripke from big bang theory and shelley from south park
Dario's lines were really well delivered, honestly. Ive always enjoyed the voice work of 3.
re 2 and re 3 are my favs
Nemesis dying from embarrassment is kinda funny.
In my opinion, seeing stars can vary depending on context.
For what it’s worth, that A ranking with Nikolai is super impressive.
I’ve been playing RE3 for almost decades lol and I still don’t understand the stones and clocks puzzle in the clock tower. I just put the stones in random spots until it unlocks lol
You are the boss.your explication is exquisite.nemesis is also mi favourite mounster and I think he really make scare
I love those things too btw, I just try to be a bit more objective in reviews like this. And don’t forget a 6/10 is still positive, I’m not IGN
Great video, even though i disagree, cause it's my favorite RE game haha!
Feel free to explain why you disagree, I'm all for hearing other opinions.
Wew lad
Very nice
The script felt much very focused in the video, and it stays on a very fine track for the whole video.
I do wish I went harder on 2 for how easy it was, among other things
@@WitchTaunter i feel like it’s a staple for most RE titles. You start off weak, trying your best to survive and gather resources. But at the end of your journey, you see your character annihilate everything that’s on their way, clearly indicating theirs and yours progression
I love absolutely everything about the mainline resident evil entries! Everything from the first resident evil to resident evil code Veronica! When resident evil three came out in 1999 it was one of the first games I got for Christmas and I was so happy to get it that I enjoyed every single moment of it and never even thought about questioning all the reused content etc.?!?
With all that said I think resident evil goes down in history as one of my favorite game franchises ever and I still play one through three and code Veronica to this very day!
this was grate. you have my sub!
I completely agree with you. Resident Evil 3 has fantastic music, especially the Save Room tune❤
Now that I've gotten through the vid. I wanted to mention i didn't have the issue with the dodge mechanics that you spoke of.
Best RE, best soundtrack, best protagonist, best antagonist, best best.
You better check your opinion again.
"Check your opinion" lol

I like to see nemesis killing Nikolai as, "HEY, THAT IS MY PREY!!!"
Sometimes I would aim directly at the valves and shoot and they wouldn't work because I was aiming at the wrong angle by 5°
Hey look, the audio isn't weird anymore!
