That could be the difference between missing a school of fish vs. getting right in the middle of a school of fish. Great vid! Love that Phantom X!

These casting results are basically the same as mine. I also have a 7’11” St. Croix casting rod also with a Shimano Curado reel with 10 pound test Fluorocarbon line. I would cast a big bulky Strike King 10xd crank bait with hooks. An average, no effort, easy cast is 25 yards. If you really cast with effort, I could get to 35 yards. With some luck, I could reach the 38 yard distance on a cast. I would guess a 3/4 oz compact jig should be able to get past 40 yards. Often when you cast with big effort, a slight back lash can occur and decrease the cast length .
I find my average cast when fishing target oriented lures is less than 20 yards. I only need to cast the 35 plus yard casts when fishing grass flats, ledges, points, and carolina rigs.
I made my measurements using a large, builders tape measure that can be purchased at a Lowe’s or Home Depot.
I read comments by watchers on RUclips on other videos where they state can easily average casts of over 100 plus yards distant all day long with any lures. I shake my head with disbelief.
David Fritts, a bass fishing legend, a master of crank bait fishing, says 70 yard casts with his Lew’s BB1 reels are everyday easy. I really would like to witness one of these casts.
I have not used the special bearings yet, but will order some soon and try them out. Thanks for your video. Great results.

Usually these bearings are run with no oil that’s why there so fast. But still a improvement. Good video

Wonder how it would do with ceramic bearings? Might have to try out new bearings in my reels.

I dunno, maybe a side by side comparison would be neat.

Great video for sure. Thirty feet is a huge difference. I usually backlash every three casts, couldn't do this experiment accurately.

I bought the 30$ XCR ultra spool bearings and they’re total garbage lol. It dropped my casting distance by about 30-40 feet, the bearings chatter and vibrate and it kills the distance and smoothness of the cast. Do not recommend. I tried contacting support and I got ignored.

Compare just cleaning out factory bearings’ then hi speed bearings , factory are full of crud’
