my friend didnt believe me when i said i listened to this fully so i listened to it again and recorded myself with running commentary about how good this song is... my phone is now out of storage
I liked to play without seeing the next piece. At the time I felt like it was cheating. Looking back now, I suppose it could be seen as more challenging having to think ahead. Either way, this is still one of my favorite games (and Tetris theme) of all time. The other music themes just feel differently.
I never looked at the next piece because I was always looking at where the current piece would go best and I didn't have the time to check both , that being said I was still pretty good at Tetris because I just never left spaces if I could help it

The only portable electronic games were simple, like moving dots across a screen for sports, Merlin, and the Pac-Man watch that made my little brother instantly popular in fourth grade. Then in 1989, the Game Boy comes out (Tetris included, like SMB for the NES) with all the action and hidden tricks of NES games that we loved, and who cared that it was just monochrome?
