I just purchased a 10ft 2021 with Bimini top + other accessories, that Bimini top looks like a Dreadful nightmare although once the Bimini is assembled mounting/dismounting don't seem to be too much of a task, so thank you for this how to video which is very detailed by the way & much needed & appreciated.
@@Colorado1derful It's unbelievable that my boat has been in the shipping state of wrapping since purchase but in 2023 it will have it's maiden voyage, finally. Do you both still have the boat or did you sell it and if you did so, why? Oh by the way this is"Gonzo Bongo" had to change my avatar.
@@bayside6207 Nothing wrong with the boat, but we decided we needed a center console fishing boat with motor to get around faster. We sold it to a guy using it in his business to maneuver around in canals in Texas.
Great video, great instructions on how you assembled your boat. Please post some videos on how you find the boat on the water. It would be good to see how the boat does in the water and running with a motor attached, etc. Nice work guys.
A very unique Boat! I enjoyed watching how this was assembled and presentation which made listening and learning about a how to video easily understandable experience. 👍👍👍❣️
Love the video. You are so calm and describe the process so well - especially for an excitable guy like me! Lol. I'll pass on the Bimini- even your calm demeanor couldn't suppress the angst I felt watching that process. Hope to have my PB delivered by the end of July. Thanks again.
Great Set-Up video- best on the Web that I've seen! It's all straightforward and simple, excepting the Bimini part which is nearly a quarter of the video- that tells you things about the issues of that item 😉
A few additional tricks When first opening the bote, kneel with 1 knee on the lower edge of the bote, push upper side away. Use spreader bar to open rest of way. Start spreader bar near the stern so the stern flexes open the maximum distance. This makes hole alignment in transom easier. The hole alignment is the most trying part. Be sure the spreader bar square cut out is positioned so it can catch the near (bottom) edge when the bote is half open; this gives you a chance to rest. I lost some of the hardware; I replaced with clevis pins or long nuts and bolts. Try to get bolts with a round loop as the head, much easier to tighten by hand. Seats go in easier if the middle bracket is canted off to the side; use the spreader bar to push it in place after slotted side holes are bolted. Install the cart wheels near the rear at first as the sides are near vertical; then slide them forward as needed for balance. The further forward you move the wheels, the lighter the front end is to pick up
;) It's actually a polypropylene resin engineered by the US space industry - very rigid & tough. But now you have me worried about fishing in my rubber Sea Eagle!
This is by far the best video on PB assembly.
Thank you for your kind words :)

Thank you for the video. You did a good job demonstrating and explaining. Enjoy your time on the water!
Love to see more videos of the Porta-Bote and your soothing voice describing it!
Very detailed...thank you! Now to open our boxes and begin!

@Colorado1derful I recently received a 10ft white- Will be following your video when I finally assemble it!! Best of Luck!!
@@GaryEtheridge-d5n Thanks for your confidence! Hope your assembly goes well.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking a 12ft model, and your video answered alot of questions I had pertaining to use and function.
:) Thanks for comment!
Well explained. Does the 10 ft version offer enough space for 4 adults or did you ever used it with 4 adults?
I as well ordered the Bimini top, is it useful ? Is the Bimini top flimsy/finicky or does it function as intended ? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the great suggestions Michael. I wish I knew your opening idea five years ago when I bought my PB.
Well explained.
Thank you for your kind words :)
Great vid, can you please tell me the measurements of the assembly stick and the notches? Mine broke and I need to build a new one.
I would but we sold it. Sorry. Be sure to ask others with videos.
@@Colorado1derful Why the decision to sell?
@@gonzobongo6669 Had nothing to do with this boat. We got a small center console fishing boat, so didn't need it anymore :)
I can when buy portaboat ?? Thanks for yuo answer.
We bought it online from porta-boat.com
does it float?
Dónde puedo comprar uno de esos. Soy de Argentina
Nice fish!
How much did it cost?
In 2016 we paid $2000 for the boat. Sunshade, dolly, 2 swivel chairs were $800 extra.
What size of boat is that?
Sorry took so long. It is the 10-Ft Porta-Bote model but is actually 10-feet 8-inches long and 5-feet wide.
Very helpful video. Thank you so much!
The bimini seems so NOT worth the effort ha ha.
@@Colorado1derful geez, wish i wouldn't have bought a motor so heavy @ 87lbs.
@@schoc13 Yeah, limit is supposed to be 56 lbs.
@@Colorado1derful thanks I've since moved on to a real 19' well craft w/cuddy
Hope that Shark isn't smart enough to figure out your boat is made of a piece of Vinyl??
