My 97 has a broke leaf spring so I bought some new ones that are 1750 lbs per side and got a extra leaf that hold 1000 lbs but the frame is rusty so I'm scaling the frame and putting rust converter and paint and undercoating and while I got the leafs off I'm going to the junkyard to get a 8.8 rearend out of a explorer or bronco and doing the 2 inch block and new leaf hangers with chevy silverado shackles and front end lift like your with new moog springs and getting rid of the factory 14 inch wheels and getting some universal fit 15 inch 70,s steel Corvette rally rims and new mudder tires and new exuast and shocks and most likely a few new front end parts.
Always look the job up on youtube before the attempt to do the job. Thanks for the vid. Im doing the same thing but I'm using the torsion keys on front . I do not think spacers under springs will help much.
What size tires are those...I did a 4 inch lift spindles front and 3 in blocks rear on my 2wd ranger...I put on some 17 inch dia 31s! Looks a little bigger than this tho
DANK Airsoft eBay lift blocks...eBay lift spindles...eBay wheels and my boss gave me the new set of 31s cuz they were off his new truck but changed to 33 mud tires immediately 😂
Really appreciate the video. Really made your truck look good and answered a lot od mine. But I have a few more questions: Did you have to change anything else like your fuel tank filler neck, speed odometer cable, etc. Also how much did your speed odometer change? Has the bigger tires changed the way your (automatic) transmission changes gears? I have a 2011 and am wondering if larger tires will effect the shift, Odometer, etc... Thanks in advance.
Thank you, I didn't have to extend the filler neck since this wasn't a body lift, the speed sensor is all electronic on my truck, if just need to adjust the tire size in the PCM. At 65 mph it's only 2 mph off, as far as your automatic transmission I would bet it might hold the gears a bit longer than usual but nothing dramatic
The springs are the same ones from the factory, the only thing I did to the front suspension is add the coil spacers under the springs. Thanks for watching
Everything is still running great, lots of compliments on the truck when I take it out. Ride quality did go down a bit due to the increased ply of the tires, I used to get 32 mpg before the lift, now I'm averaging 28 mpg. Truck still has plenty of power and wouldn't change anything about it. Thanks for watching!
I was going to put a suspension lift on my 02 ford ranger 2wd xlt. Idk if that would be dumb but I was also going to put bigger rims and tires. If I do I was going to install a turbo so my 3.0 wouldn't stress too much. I want it to sit higher, and have the advantage with the suspension
Get 2in wheel spacers. I bought mine off amazon and they were like $60 by supreme suspension. I have the same fitment that sticks out plus the rims and tires I’m putting in soon it’s gonna be wide as a big rig
That looks great man!! I have a 06 Ranger white XL and I'm going to put the 4" lift spindles kit on it and after seeing yours I can't wait. What did you do about correcting you speedo after installing the larger tires?
Did you have to buy camming alignment bolts for upper control arms? I had this same kit and had to purchase these bolts cause ford comes with a non-adjustable alignment bolt. just curious thanks.
I have an 04 ranger edge 2wd and I’ve been looking for a good lift kit and it’s really difficult to find nice ones so I’m trying to decide if I should just get bigger tires and rims
oh just saw the end of the vid where you said you don't know if you could do links.. any more info on parts would be appreciated so that I can find them.. thanks
nice ride man. I need to start doing some stuff to my 02. I did it all wrong. Did an exhaust and intake when I should have thrown that money towards suspension/sway bars. Oh well. Live and learn.
Bullshit. Im not a fan of customers standing by talking and in the way. But to pretend like they arent going to fuck up is ignorant. Most mechanics working on someone elses vehicle dont give a shit and are reckless Not to mention its a good time to learn when you spend money to have someone else do it.
My truck is a toyota taco 2005 2wd 4 cylinder 2.7li i was wanting to get a lift but since its not a pre runner or an all wheel drive suspension i was told i would run into some problems idk know if thats completly true
I just ordered (4) 31X10.50R15LT Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC (4) PCW97-5165F Pro Comp Series 97 15x10 -44mm 5x4.5 Flat Black for my 2004 2wd Ford Ranger Edge. The rear should fit fine,(I'm building a flat tilt bed. I may need to lift front.
shoulda gone 2" lift all around instead of 3" front and 4" rear. front cant be aligned right and spindles hit frame. and rear the u-joints are going out due to pinion angle.
Michael Guzman it really depends on how high you're going to lift the truck, I would suggest staying with a 15" wheel because tires are easier/cheaper to find in a 15" wheel size
Ey man how it's your truck doing right now after the lifting kit, I have a ranger 2006 4 cil 2 wd , and I want to do the same thing what do you recommend? I have 265 tires rim 16inch.
I still have the stock shocks on the truck, they're not fully extended and the truck still has good suspension travel. I might upgrade to longer bilstiens later on.
No they suggested adding larger cams to push the upper control arms out farther but the truck still drives straight down the road and no uneven tire wear
Looks awesome man! I personally would have lifted the front and just leveled it like i did mine. But hay! Thats me! Haha im doing 3more inchs on mine next month but i love the truck man looks great
Can't explain how much your videos have been helping me I have 2011 ranger just did a 3inch body lift And I just bought those Dick Cepek rims thanks to your video I will probably getting 31inch tires since I have a 4.10 gear ratio My question to you how did you know you needed TPMS bands? Similar to you I bought the rims first now I'm just shopping around for tires so I'm just trying to get everything I need
TheEdwin071 yes I didn't think the 2" lift on my truck would do much, but taking into account the bigger tires, it lifted it a decent amount for not much money
Brandon how can a 235/75R15 NOT BE BOTH TALLER AND WIDER THAN 225/70R15 stock size shown around 2:30 5mm bump in section width and 5 plus percent aspect ratio (70% of 225mm VS. 75% of 235mm) why do you think the speedo changes? I learnt dis stuff off da innerwebz
This had potential to be a good teaching video but it's actually terrible. The camera moves way to much, there is absolutely no detail instruction at all, and you say " but ahh ". Too many freaking times.
shoulda gone 2" lift all around instead of 3" front and 4" rear. front cant be aligned right and spindles hit frame. and rear the u-joints are going out due to pinion angle.
can you post links to everything you bought? thanks.. great looking truck
i have an 01 2wd xlt and it sets so low and i think I'm gonna do this, nice vid!
Nice ranger dude, i have a 1995 ranger xlt, 2wd. runnin strong!
Nice! Thanks for watching
massey706 where did you order your wheels?
My 97 has a broke leaf spring so I bought some new ones that are 1750 lbs per side and got a extra leaf that hold 1000 lbs but the frame is rusty so I'm scaling the frame and putting rust converter and paint and undercoating and while I got the leafs off I'm going to the junkyard to get a 8.8 rearend out of a explorer or bronco and doing the 2 inch block and new leaf hangers with chevy silverado shackles and front end lift like your with new moog springs and getting rid of the factory 14 inch wheels and getting some universal fit 15 inch 70,s steel Corvette rally rims and new mudder tires and new exuast and shocks and most likely a few new front end parts.

whered you buy the parts

Wheels and on point. Nice 😊
Awesome video!! I've got the same truck, just waiting to install my kit. Looks great!!
Good looking truck! Quick question - did you have to do a lift to fit tire on the truck? Or would they fit ?
Did you get the front coils from real truck too? If not what are they called and where did you buy them from? Your ranger looks great!!!!!!!
The springs are the same ones from the factory, the only thing I did to the front suspension is add the coil spacers under the springs. Thanks for watching
Thanks for your help man!!! Quick question. How is it holding up since you got the lift? ride quality good? Anything you would change?
Everything is still running great, lots of compliments on the truck when I take it out. Ride quality did go down a bit due to the increased ply of the tires, I used to get 32 mpg before the lift, now I'm averaging 28 mpg. Top tip if your side view mirror can see the wheel it’s not looking in your blind spot kids
Move the mirror till the doors are just out of sight
Looks good. Maybe put those wheels on my 2011 . Where did you mount your C.B.?
I was going to put a suspension lift on my 02 ford ranger 2wd xlt. Idk if that would be dumb but I was also going to put bigger rims and tires. If I do I was going to install a turbo so my 3.0 wouldn't stress too much. I want it to sit higher, and have the advantage with the suspension
VowSwerve id go with the 15 inch rim, help from wearing out the bearings
I got my blocks from a 4x4 Ranger in a junk yard and spent $18 total for the blocks, nuts, and u bolts
Get 2in wheel spacers. I bought mine off amazon and they were like $60 by supreme suspension. I have the same fitment that sticks out plus the rims and tires I’m putting in soon it’s gonna be wide as a big rig
I just did a 9 inch lift in mine . I love it =) nice ranger
Nice Ranger!!! And Love that VW in the back!!!
Nice ranger, I have a 84 ranger 2wd what would you suggest I should get for a lift kit
That looks great man!! I have a 06 Ranger white XL and I'm going to put the 4" lift spindles kit on it and after seeing yours I can't wait. What did you do about correcting you speedo after installing the larger tires?
Most mechanics have the computer tool to adjust it. It has to do with rim/wheel size. should be quick and cheap
Nice truck, I’m gonna lift my 97 2wd ranger but am still trying to decide on which kit
Did you have to buy camming alignment bolts for upper control arms? I had this same kit and had to purchase these bolts cause ford comes with a non-adjustable alignment bolt. just curious thanks.
Got another question. Have you had any rear-end shift or thump since you installed the rear 2" blocks? Say when you come to a stop.
I have an 04 ranger edge 2wd and I’ve been looking for a good lift kit and it’s really difficult to find nice ones so I’m trying to decide if I should just get bigger tires and rims
theirs a thing called a coil compressor if anyone didn't know already.
I was going to put a 2in lift on my 92 Ranger. Should it be roughly the same way as you step by step?
Massey, what size tires and rims are those?
oh just saw the end of the vid where you said you don't know if you could do links.. any more info on parts would be appreciated so that I can find them.. thanks
I have a 1993 XLT 2wd with only 70k miles I'm thinking about lifting, its fully stock but I want it to ride a bit higher
nice ride man. I need to start doing some stuff to my 02. I did it all wrong. Did an exhaust and intake when I should have thrown that money towards suspension/sway bars. Oh well. Live and learn.
Haha yea now I have an exhaust on my truck, good luck with your truck. Thanks for watching
I have a 2002 ranger and I was wondering were did you buy your lift? nice truck tho
alexandro martinez I bought everything through RealTruck.com, all Maxtrac components
How much was the kit and if u could do it again would u change anything.
I HATE when customers stand right in front of someone working on their vehicle. NOTHING is going to happen
Bullshit. Im not a fan of customers standing by talking and in the way. But to pretend like they arent going to fuck up is ignorant. Most mechanics working on someone elses vehicle dont give a shit and are reckless
Not to mention its a good time to learn when you spend money to have someone else do it.

I think I would have put bigger spacers on the tires
I got rid mine and got a 3500 2017 cummins on 12 lift on 40s nittos rides better then stock
Do you have traction control? Maxtrac told me I wouldn't be able to lift my 2010 v6 xlt 2wd without it messing with the traction conrol
Gustavo Colunga With lift spindles it will mess with your traction control. With lift springs, it shouldn't.
shoulda gone 2" lift all around instead of 3" front and 4" rear. front cant be aligned right and spindles hit frame. and rear the u-joints are going out due to pinion angle.
In the video when your truck was on the lift and the guy was cutting in the rear wheel well. What was he cutting?
The U bolts provided in the block kit were really long, he was just trimming them down
So what all is needed for a lift kit on a 97 ranger xlt. I'm having trouble figuring out everything about the wheels and tires.
Gilbert C I had 265 on 17s and didn't have to lift my ranger. I thought it looked good
and it look nice and different from the others, but i cant get enough lol, btw how much psi you have in your tires?
Judging from the wide angle I'm guessing this was shot with a session
Did you use stock ride hight shocks or lifted ones?
I still have the stock shocks on the truck, they're not fully extended and the truck still has good suspension travel. I might upgrade to longer bilstiens later on.
Does he say what year his ranger is ?
did they have to do anything to your front end to get the tires to be straight and not angel
No they suggested adding larger cams to push the upper control arms out farther but the truck still drives straight down the road and no uneven tire wear
Looks awesome man! I personally would have lifted the front and just leveled it like i did mine. But hay! Thats me! Haha im doing 3more inchs on mine next month but i love the truck man looks great
hey guys i have 1999 xlt ford ranger 2wd drive i want to do a lift but i dnt know the dffrns between all the lifts there out there help plz thnx.
when you measured the front coil spacers what did they measure? 2"
What’s a good 4 inch lift kit for a 04 ranger pls help (2wd)
Can't explain how much your videos have been helping me
I have 2011 ranger just did a 3inch body lift
And I just bought those Dick Cepek rims thanks to your video
I will probably getting 31inch tires since I have a 4.10 gear ratio
My question to you how did you know you needed TPMS bands?
Similar to you I bought the rims first now I'm just shopping around for tires so I'm just trying to get everything I need
Was yours a 4x4?
I like the back ground noise!
After lifting .need alignment ??
For my first vehicle, I have around 10k to work with, what should I buy and have money left over for upgrades/mods.
an old jeep cherokee build an xj
Nice truck!
Only thing I can say about this is I have a 99 ford ranger I'm running 31x10.50 15s with no lift at all with no problems at all.
$1400 i bought my ranger for $350 there is no way I'm going to put that much into it thanks for the info.
Donnie Weiss bought mine for $3800 about to put $2500 in it. Just have to full send it
just changed tire .I thing you will up level suspension...
Cute puppy.
the video i have been waiting on!
Is it a suspension lift kit or a body lift kit?
Suspension Lift
thy can only offer me a 2 inch suspention lift for my truck would that give my truck a Diffrent look
TheEdwin071 yes I didn't think the 2" lift on my truck would do much, but taking into account the bigger tires, it lifted it a decent amount for not much money
Hey I got a 97 ford ranger I've been wanting to lift and get new rims and tires what all did you need and actually have to do??
yes lift a 2wd what a great idea
did you have to readjust your tie rods?
Nick the kid yes, as well as adjusting the caster/camber
How do you put rear blocks on?
how much was cut off
I have only 32 inch tires on the truck. my lift made them look like baby tires
What was he cutting int the rear wheel well
how many inches were the coil spacers and blocks?
joe po 1.5" coil spacers, 2" blocks
Any idea were i can find a 2wd front leveling kit?
Ebay
Wulf suspensions
"Today is New Year's Eve; yesterday was the 23rd." 15:34
do you live in Chatsworth, Ga
I have a 2003 ford ranger xlt 2wd and I have 31x10.5 all terrain tires on it. I'm planning on lifting mine like this.
Considering this was posted in 2014 and the first GoPro Session wasn't released until July of 2015, I'm gonna say not. Probably just a normal GoPro.
Cody Lewis Do your wheels rub at all?
looks great!
Where are the links?
You realize that getting “235/75/r15 your only getting a wider tire not a taller one
I learnt dis stuff off da innerwebz
hey man what geared rear end do you have?
tyler gentry prolly the stock 3.73 7.5 rear end
I can't seem to find the coil spacers can you help me
Here's a link to Maxtrac's site:
www.maxtracsuspension.com/2-aluminum-coil-spacers.html
Where did you vet those tires and rims at
amazon
Whats your size of tires
Tires are too skinny for the wheels
What year is your truck?
Nick Allison 2007
dude, you could have run the 235 without any rubbing what so ever. I'm running good year wrangler AT'S on my 2000 ranger. 235/75/15's
Dakota Ewing did they rub?
you can fit 31's stock and at the most have to crank the keys.
30's are metric to ur 235 ur standard
@Dakota Ewing ya, did they rub?
nice job canada thank
This had potential to be a good teaching video but it's actually terrible. The camera moves way to much, there is absolutely no detail instruction at all, and you say " but ahh ". Too many freaking times.
qnsskywalker no one asked
We got a professional youtuber her guys watch out.
Why hide the state but tell everyone Chatsworth California
look good
first its pretty tires, then pretty guns, then next thing you know you're shaving your beard and wearing capri pants.
Nice lookin ranger tho👌🏻
okay thanks
Nice.
That whistling and music really sucked
Looks stock still but it’s cool
235/75/15
About how bad did they throw off your speedo?
massey706
massey706 did u have to upgrade your shocks later on or did u stay with the stock ones. thanks for the vid
i like your taste
"And um" hahahahahahhaha lmao
its pointless to lift a 2wd
Ok...... Lol
Damn that's pure stupidity
not necessarily it depends on you're needs some people like it for looks or if it floods where you live.
+bunker busta I lifted it for looks but also for extra ground clearance when I go off roading in Idaho
massey706 It floods where I live and I don't like to be low.
But um , but um but um,
. ,
shoulda gone 2" lift all around instead of 3" front and 4" rear. front cant be aligned right and spindles hit frame. and rear the u-joints are going out due to pinion angle.
