Our new property has a dozen and a half established apple trees all of which need a lot of love. Thanks for the video. We have so much to look forward to.
That's wonderful that you are starting with established trees. We only have the one older tree and the rest of ours are only 3 years old so haven't produced much fruit. We're hoping to get more next year. Enjoy your new property!!!
We pruned it so hard last year that there was hardly any fruit. We just gave it a tiny trim and we will hopefully have pics/videos of some apples on the tree by fall. Thanks for asking. :)
We did have a fair amount of apples last year and he just pruned it again. It's hard to get a tree like that under control.... We're still working on that.
Sorry about that. We've actually learned a LOT more about pruning since then and hope to do a video when we prune the trees this season. Thanks for watching.
I'm just about to prune my old apple trees and was looking forward to watching your video. So why, when you get to the actual pruning, which was what the video was introduced as, did you do it in time lapse ? This is what people are tuning in to see, not to see you, although you seem like very nice people, but what is the point ?
Good point. This was one of our early videos and frankly we were just learning the ropes of video making. We missed the mark on this one. This old tree was in terrible condition and it takes a few years to bring trees like this back. The other problem is that most Apple trees should have a central leader....this old tree was not properly pruned right from the start.
@@waardenburgfamilyfarm4764 This is the first video of yours that I have seen. It wont be the last .Have you done a follow up video showing how the tree looks since the pruning ?

Very interesting, I had no idea and the music was hilarious. Looking sharp in the carhartt vest, every farmer needs one.
Sure would like an update on that tree...

We have a tree just like this one, was wondering what to do with all the straight twigs.

Good job
Thanks
Next, he going to prune the old crab apple.😂😂
Show us the apple tree! What's the status?
We will be doing a video in the fall.....when we are picking apples. :) YUM!
👍
Wish the video had been a little closer in with more tips on what you were doing. Thumbs up anyway.

Potatura errata tagliato troppo l’anno precedente e anche in questa potatura tagliato su rami di 1 anno ci sarà un ennesimo riscoppio vegetativo
