Kraken here… I just want to say that I seriously appreciate all of the love and support this project has gotten since it released. A little backstory, I originally did not mean for this mod to overhaul everything, but instead just play with the traffic guard count. A month later, I decided it wasn’t game-changing enough, seemed more like a proof of concept to me. So I implemented little things here and there, later added gun mods and modifiers to spice up the gameplay, to add some replay-ability, and new never-before-seen mechanics considering i was on the frontier of the modding community for jak2. 6 months later, Jak 2 releases and I added the final touches before releasing. I’m really happy everyone received the mod so well and I hope it inspires more modders to come and join in on the frontier of OpenGOAL modding!
Question about the mod. In hero mode, skull gems spawn every time you kill a metalhead and the secrets menu showing the ability to unlock hero mode leads me to belive that this is a modded version of regular mode. My question: was this intentional or was that simply an oversight? Time as of writing 36:54

Was really hoping that during the war part ofthe game we'd see more types of MetalHeads roaming the streets and battling the guards. I REALLY hope someone leanrs how to do that for this game, I love those enemies.

J&D was honestly one of my childhood games (Jak 2 probably being my fave despite difficulty), but watching you speed run these games and at the same time not realizing basic run stuff has truly been entertaining for me, just like this mod (shoutout to Kraken, btw). This video showed up in my recommended feed a couple days ago. I decided to play this mod for myself before I watched you do so. I just finished and had fun with the surprises the mod gave. Admittedly, I probably should have played with the modifiers. Reading the warning translated to me as "This is a difficulty mod. You can enable gun mods that, despite downsides, will make this challenge mod easier." Since I wanted to try the full challenge, I left them disabled. I'll probably try them in another playthrough later. In the meantime, this gives me a showcase of some.
Is it possible to make the guards shoot grenades like in the drill cable mission during normal missions/city free roam? would definitely be interesting to see that.
This mod was fun as hell, but I wish I knew how to unlock all the gun mods and shit. There’s no readme or anything and i only unlocked like maybe half the mods by the end of the game. My favorite combo was guard shot + double shot + rapid fire + mag bag on the blue gun. That combo absolutely melts every enemy in the game

Kraken here… Lots of things are changed, like the base game of Jak 2, that being traffic is littered with guards, gun turrets shoot faster, fort tank shoots faster, certain timed missions are shorter, and certain enemies have ai changed and have more health. Then you have modifiers and gun mods, that spice up the gameplay to be good in certain missions, but harder in some. Then there’s hell mode, which if you select a HeroMode save, it enables all modifiers to be active at all times. Gun mods cannot be disabled in hell mode. Normal casual playthroughs are meant for players who are looking for a challenge, where as Hell Mode is meant for only the worthy.
hey, this is useless knowledge but you can smuggle the jetboard out from the training. once you're finished, instead of walking to the glowie, just hover out and go to keira. you'll still have the hoverboard even after the cutscene.

I definitely expected all the guards to be the yellow ones you see late game that take 4 hits and for all the early metal heads to be replaced by late game variants. Or for the insta kill turret to show up when you fell in the water in the city during a guard chase like in the seal mission. I am glad the mod creator didn't take the easy route of just make everything one shot you. That's a cheap way of adding difficulty. And I like the pseudo randomiser aspect of the optional mods. Although this mod gave me a cool idea on what a realistic Jak 2 mod could look like. Where you have to obey the law or the guards aggro. Drive the right speed, don't carjack etc. Doesn't sound too fun but could make for a difficult challenge.
im not a programer but we need mods that make the game more fun to play like -less eco needed for dark jak -faster zoomer and fast travel points -Less shots needed for turret missions -Glow and map points for orbs -Purchase Dark Jak upgrades from a menu
Daxter and TLF are a different programming language they have no plan to do. But Jak X is GOAL and they haven't decided whether to do it. People have said they probably will.
