Walking through the Salem Street Burying Ground is quite an experience. I am overwhelmed by the dignity and respect earned by people who are buried, here. Silence befalls anyone who walks through the Burying Ground.
I agree, Charlie. These people experienced witch trials, Indian raids, the Revolutionary War, terrible epidemics, ... It is nice to see that some of them (maybe the more well to do) are memorialized in stone.
Sarah was wondering why it says "here lyes"? Was it a part of the language that got lost as in "ye olde". Interesting video, thank you. Take care my friend
I think it is just another convention of 17th-18th century English. I wonder if the gravestones in your area are similar. Take care, and thanks for watching!

I agree, and I pray that these stones are still standing there 300 years from now. Thanks for watching!
nice, I like old gravestones
Thanks, Andrej. There must be many interesting old gravestones in your area too.
It’s neat to think of the history those folks lived through; and some, even missed. I noticed a few died prior to the witch trials. Great vid!

Man those head stones are old. Goes To show that there is a lot of history in Mass.
Yes, and let's hope gravestones like these last another 300 years.
