I've been sick this past week and planned to watch your new videos once I got better again, so here I am now! Great video as always, lots of beautiful scenery especially with that majestic cedar tree! Though the highlight of the video had to be Zeb; almost didn't recognize him for a sec there lol

Aw i hope you're feeling better now! Being sick is the worst! Thanks so much - haha I know, it was the first time I'd seen his chin other than photos of him as a child 😂

Last March, my wife and I rented MachiNori e-bikes in Kanazawa and rode to the Ohno Karakuri Memorial Museum in Onomachi, right near your route. I'm going to Japan again tomorrow and bringing my Brompton this time to ride Shimanami Kaido in Onomichi.

how cool! that is really nearby! what did you think of the museum? I hope you were able to get some soy sauce ice cream while you were in Ono 😄 I've not yet been to the Shimanami Kaido but will have the opportunity to go this spring and I'm super excited - Safe travels tomorrow!

Interesting and informative as always. I've just returned to the U.K from Japan, really wish I was back there after watching this.

I really love your vids! But why is it every time I watch cycling vids of Japan the towns and villages look like ghost places? I mean, you guys never cross paths with a single soul. You can't see absolutely any locals walking the streets or going about their businesses. Any thoughts? . Greetings from UK

Thanks so much! Haha, you're right there weren't many people on this route - I guess a lot of times I don't want to record people in case they don't want to be on video, so some of it is me waiting for people to walk out of a shot before I record. But a lot of it is just being in lesser visited areas in Japan, or more rural towns with smaller populations in general. That's part of why I make the videos actually, because there are so many beautiful places in Japan that don't get as much tourism or attention. It would be great to spread out some tourism to alleviate the stress on the overtouristed areas.

Thanks for your reply! Keep the vids coming, they're so much better than silly tv! To do what you do has always been one of my dreams, it's really inspiring.
