Nice one Nic. Next time pull the ladder out and use the ladder to pull the tent open. Makes life much easier.
Safe travels mate.
Keep going boet, this channel is going to grow.... as Namibians we are going to support you 👊🙌👌👍.... Thanks for inspiration
Actually not Namibian support many African young generation I'm Somali and i really appreciate watching a lot of area in Namibia that I don't know but I'm a driver i going Namibia since and i have been in Namibia many times
love this comment we will support him for sure
That's crazy because I just got back from Namibia and this is the EXACT campsite I stayed in!
Great minds think alike🙂
@@NickfrNamibia and thanks to you I had an amazing time in Namibia. Can’t wait to share my videos next year
Hi Nick, it´s always nice to watch an overlander like you having a braai over a fire at the end of long driving and exploring day. I´m always curios about what other people eat when they go camping. We like to keep it simple in this regards; some meat, butternut with feta and spinach or with garlic and mushrooms, or just some Oklahoma Burgers with lots of onions. 🤩
Fantastic scenery, I was there in mid-October. I'll never forget it. Rooftop tent is the way to go.
Regards from your favourite camp in Zambia: Lukasa ;-) We will be travelling to the north of Namibia end of march; will we see on you the road somewhere?
incredible scenery - thanks for sharing it with us
Hahaha you are so funny. I also do a lot of safaris in Africa so a lot of what you are laughing at I soo know what you mean! have Fun!
At least you get me😂
Nice view Nick keep on showing us nice camping sites and beutiful land scape .
Love watching your channels
Beautiful photography. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. Awesome channel, great content. Looking forward to next videos and our 14 day drive around Namibia this Oct/Nov. Keep them coming :)
Great work Nick. Appreciate the content. I am looking forward to seeing your content and eventually the actual sites. Thank you and safe travels with Frank...
Dankie
Thanks Nick, another great vid!
Always a pleasure🙂
I was there on the 1st of January, one of my favorite destination in Namibia
An excellent place to spend new years
Amazing!
Thanks!
Great video with very good info. We enjoy your ideas tremendously!
Glad you like it Quintus🙂
Agree pull the ladder 🪜 out and use that as a leaver to open the tent ⛺️. You will get to like it. Looks cool 😎
Tried last June.. had to give it a pass due to severe back injury.. trying again in may this year... you whet my appetite to go there again.. thanks !
Nick, I can't see how you can reach your 100,000 goal this year with monthly videos. Considering the amazing place you live, with such an incredible array of cultures and landscapes, you could probably drop a fascinating 5 minute video every day.
He stopped his journey for personal reason so no more travelling videos 😢😢💔
@@cassiesibbs219 Do you know how he is and can you say Hi to him and give him my love? Thank you!
@@africalisa no I don’t sorry he posted on here saying he won’t be posting due to personal reasons 😢
@@cassiesibbs219 OK thanks, thought maybe you know him personally
Hey Nick, we were at Spitzkoppe 10-12 January, sorry we missed you
Nie die eerste viewer nie maar eerste commentor!! en tweede liker,,, 😃😁
love the informative content on your channel.
I appreciate that! what is the plan with your channel?
@@NickfrNamibia Main goal is to help the Namibian youtubers reach a broader audience, help them grow their channels to be monetise. To promote videos/channels that show what our country has to offer (restaurants, lodges, scenic drives, camp sites, sightseeing, cultural festivals and experiences).
Hi Nick - lovely channel. We prefer the AluCab 'clam-style' tent. From stop to beer-in-hand its about 15 seconds. (20 if you want to get the camp chair out) LOL. Keep up the good work...
I also prefer that....my budget not so much😂 love the @alu-cab products
Coming back to Namibia and Botswana for 4 weeks holiday in December 2024 (CKGR, Moremi GR). Would love to meet you somewhere in Namibia or Botsuana for a beer at a campfire
not sure where Ill be at that time... but ask me again closer to the time. For sure if our plans line up
Never realised you were so fit!😀RTT all the way - no scorpions or cobras! We have three ground tents - remain unused. Clamshell RTT is the way to go - 30 seconds up or down but most are not as spacious as yours. BunduTop is nice but expensive just press a button! We combine our RTT with a gazebo on the ground for cooking (you can't always braai due to weather) /wind shelter and shade. Works well.
Hey Nic. Some advice pls. What are the roads like from Henties to Spitzkoppe and from there up to Uis? We're planning a trip up that way with a Toyota Rav4. Thanks for all your great content!
They are usually ok with a few bad spots, but if you havent been on them recently its difficult to say. There is a FB group called Roads in Namibia that do more recent updates

@@NickfrNamibia I will definitely check that out, thank you.
Thanks for the run through of the area. Booked Spitzkoppe this week for a trip in July so the timing is excellent. Like the olive green shirt…something you can get in Nam?
Roof top tents are great if you stay 1 night at a place or are staying somewhere where you won't be driving anywhere guaranteed....we actually use our normal ground tent way more than our roof top.
Howzit Nic, haven't heard from you for a few months, hope you're well boet and we get an update soon! All the best from an English man who lived in Zambia in the 70s 👍
hi Dale, unfortunately I had to stop my travels...seeing how I can do the channel in Namibia only. Thanks for the message
I'm pro ground tent... 😎
Not taking away the quicker setup of the roof tent.
@5410Africa, put long cable ties onto your zippers... worked a treat on my Land Rover. Also, use the ladder to pull over the top section, and reduce your ladder by. run or two, to get the tent even.
Thanks Nicholas, that's was the solution, extending the zip a bit, got it right after a few attempts
@@NickfrNamibia excellent man. Yeah, took me and my wife a few times to get our Landy ready for camp, but towards the end it was a 10 minute job!
Now we have a camp trailer and we are starting all over again.
Love the channel and the advice!
Nick, are you getting Back on the Road // tanzania, kenya ?
Not looking good at the moment, but would love to
Beautiful tent! What about Angola? April 20th
M all in with the roof tent.. Don't worry, u will take shorter time with experience..
Already going faster🙂
Aaa darryls daughter😄
?
Hi, I hv been following you for your Namibia tour. Our forth coming trip next yr will be Keetmanshoop, Deadvlei, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Spitkoppe, kind of a loop. Besides the last 4km towards Deadvlei which I'm aware requiring 4x4 drive, can the rest of our journey as listed use 2x4? We intend just to take the shutter bus in Deadvlei. Because I feel is not worth to pay for 4x4 car just because of that little 4km stretch of our estimated 2,000km. Tks
Do you carry any fire arm on these strips i am sure they not pretty safe😀
i am a new follower by the way really love your content its so authentic.
No I dont. Just use my common sense and try and avoid getting into situations.
The day you hit the jackpot, buy yourself a BunduTop tent. Definitely worth the expense ‼️ And then throw in the awning for good measure 😜
Agree!!!!
19:20 which area is that planning a trip soon
Roof top looks cool, will be away from crawling insects
👉🌍AFRICA CHABWINO 👌AWESOME, NAMIBIA 🇳🇦 👏 WORLDWIDE 🌐. AFRICA 👍ZIKHOMO
Off road trailer pro
Why is it that the US$210 per person per night seems OK to the commentators??? Daylight robbery!! Dis erger as Kaapstad se toeriste tariewe...LOL. Love your videos and info - keep it up! Regards.
Jy bedoel die prys om te kamp? Namibian dollar not US dollar😁
Is safe to camp on the ground with a canvas? No scorpions
it is, I used to camp like that exclusively. just be careful. Previously I found a scorpion under my tent when breaking up camp. If your tent doesnt have holes and is zipped up they cant get in...plus i use gloves when breaking up camp
Do they sell ice cube packs there
Honestly dont know
Hi Nick, what has happened to your channel, I miss your content and delivery
unfortunately I had to stop my travels...
How much is a Donation supposed to be in those cases (the guide) ?
Think I gave the lady about N$150, but its up to you
😂😂😂
"...and many, many more things" typical Namibian.
yip😂
Nice to meet you! like-really cool job.wanna a promotion?!
You need some help? 4min15
Unfortunately, we don't often see you doing something like that, I mean cooking over a fire
yes thats an entire new skill...tried a few times and will until its good enough to go onto a video. Also difficult to spend the entire day traveling and then still do an entire cooking segment...
Can I one day together saam ry
Get a bundutop 😆
Kan ek even dag saam ry of. Hoe
