The leathery dry down in Habit Rouge Prive is what makes the scent, imo. Really like both of those Chopard fragrances as well.

The Amouage copy mentions that it’s the same Assam oud in King Blue as they used in Silver Oud, so I wonder if that’s the animalic note you’re smelling. Alexis did Search and I thought that was a brilliant way to flip the script on a citrus fragrance by having it turn smokey. I was thinking maybe they did something similar here where it starts fresh/blue but then turns leather/oud.
Anyway, I’m intrigued! I’m going to search for a decant.

I got Habit Rouge Rouge Price a couple weeks ago. Amazing. The smooth leather comes front and center for me.

6:37 Ingenious Ginger is one of my favorite releases so far. The scent is fairly simple, the vanilla in the base has mild resemblance of the smooth vanilla you get in Nishane's Ani or Ani X. I own a bottle. 21:22 I had Royal Tobacco at #3 for 2022, I have a bottle but I'm not the craziest about it since it's a bit hard to wear. I've already smelled King Blue also - opens with a lot of licorice (I also got that same licorice with Royal Tobacco), I strongly disliked the animalic assam oud vibe combining with the leather. The animalic-leather combo reminded me of the poor wearing experience of PDM's Hamdani. It dries less rough, more incense driven.
I still have samples on the side that I'm blasting, but I did finally order samples for the new Maison Crivellis today.

Wanted to like king blue so bad but it smells like poop haha. That oud is very fecal and off putting. Maybe I’ll go back and try it again in a few months but for now it’s a hard no unless you like skanky, fecal scents
