I am so happy to have found you! I have been listening to quite a few garden videos and you are far and away the best! Thanks for all the info it's so concise and has really helped me with my garden!
Great video Michelle! All the plants you have mentioned are now on my wish list on my phone 👍 With all the info out there it is so welcome to get a nice concise list of great perennials you can count on.
I am in Zone 5a in the White Mountains of NH. I absolutely love your videos. I have many, but not all, of these plants. After watching this I am adding Joe Pye Weed to my list. Thanks for all of the great information.
I love in Northeast Ohio, which I'm pretty sure is a zone 5 in my spot, and horrid blue clay soil. I love your help and knowledge and thoughts on these favourites!
Love your list! I live in zone 6 high desert and have every one of these perennials and they are my favorite easy care, long blooming, low maintenance plants.
I am a FORMER hosta hater. Years ago I had them in my yard and got rid of them. They were plain and limp and ugly. Then my daughter moved into a home that had hosta all over the yard in colors and sizes I had never seen before. Bright greens, creamy whites and blue greens. Hate turned to love. I’ve divided and moved them to the few shady spots in my yard ( never thought I would wish for more shade) and every year divide hers and move them to her multiple shady areas. She now has over 130 beautiful plants. Every fall I divide the larger ones. They have become one of my favorites also❤.
I divided a 'Sum and Substance' plant growing (thriving) in full sun. A few went to shady areas in my yard and a couple in full sun. One more left and I'll add it to my mixed hydrangea garden.
Major bipolar weather in northwest Alabama!! Sounds like our lists are VERY similar!!! Lol! I like your energetic way of telling it, like myself! Lol. I like bulbs bc when I kill em, they come back!😂🤦♀️
My husband loves hosta, but we have deer issues. So I put them in pot on our deck. Deer don't get on the deck. This year I planted a hosta in the ground. There's a fence behind it, marigolds around it. And I put a statue in front of it. Got my fingers crossed.
Fun as always! 😃 Would love a “clay busters” video and/or a video on plants that do great in both shade and sun. Would also love to see a picture of your alliums painted during Christmas time. 💚🎄
There is a claybuster video called Planting in Clay Soil. And I like your other idea about the shade-sun video, that can be tricky. And I guarantee the Christmas Walk will be shown.
You picked all lavender and blue plants. Mix it up. Blue doesnt work for all color schemes. Also you need to slow down on the names. No one can understand you when you rush it out
Loved this list of high impact low maintenance perennials. I am going to try to get them all this season in my garden. I have created a new flower bed for roses so i have room for all these since I transplanted the roses in the new bed 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻thank you so much And i am loving all your other videos as wellthey are very informative and your energy and enthusiasm is awesome. Very inspiring. 😊
I'm from Pennsylvania New Kensington I have 30 garden silent talk to you before or not but I use egg yolk and water to keep the deer away from my my hostas another plants you just spray them one time and it goes down into the plant somehow and it works wonderful I have 30 gardens that I do this on so okay let you know that you can do that too okay talk to you later bye
I’ve grown perennial geraniums in both NYS and NE Tennessee. In both locations they stop blooming when it get’s hot. They bloom in early spring and again, less so, in autumn. I do love them, though!
I love your informative videos!! I'm always looking for low maintenance and high impact plants now as I'm a senior. Thanks for always giving the zone range. I live in SE MN so a bit colder than IL and need some 4 hardiness. Thx Michelle!
Thanks so much!! I grow several of these in my Southern Indiana garden but I’m moving 5 hours North soon into zone 5. Glad to here they do so well for you up there! Love your “channel”!
Hi Michelle, I recently came across your videos. We are from Green Bay and we are also in zone 5. It is awesome we can grow the same plants. It is great to know you have an enormous amount of knowledge with plants since you own a greenhouse. I am looking for hydrangeas for a tall hedge for privacy from neighbors. I want ones with super strong stems. Lime Rickey from Proven Winners was my first choice but hard to find online or at any local greenhouses in my area. Do you have any suggestions for tall hydrangeas in full sun that can withstand heavy rains? I am not fussy about the colors or the size of the blooms of the hydrangeas. I just want tall hydrangeas with super strong stems. Great job on your videos! I subscribed to your channel and look forward to your upcoming videos.
Limelight 8x8 - Quick Fire 8x8 - Pinky Winky 8×8 - Quick Fire Fab 8×6 - or Limelight Prime 6x5 Fire Light 8x8 or Pufferfish 5x5. You can go to proven winners site and they will list them all out
I have a berm planted with multiple hydrangea varieties in full sun to screen my neighbors' yard (they're very nice people). Michelle's list has several of mine. I sit on my deck, morning coffee in hand and admire the beautiful foliage. They're already budding out. 🥰 Do you follow Erin's channel, the impatient gardener? She's in eastern Wisconsin, on the lake. (I'm in Minneapolis)
@@gardeningTLC Thanks Michelle for the sizes. I think any of these would make an awesome hedge! I watched a video last night on youtube from Proven Winners Colorchoice Flowering Shrubs on full sized panicle hydrangeas. The horticulturist Stacey in the video compared the Pinky Winky hydrangea stems to rebar. This is exactly what I am looking for to hold up to the heavy winds and rain. Since they are eight feet tall, they will make a great hedge! Looking forward to your upcoming videos!

Me too!

Wow...lol...can you see it?
@@gardeningTLC not very well, but I know it's there. Lol

Minus 20o ?!! 😳
Yup

The names are all listed on the screen and this color pallet was requested by the homeowner....feel free to use whatever colors you like.
supposedly, Joe Pye weed does well in clay. wrong! I have amended clay soil, and my JP weed died :^(
Im sorry to hear that
I lost my Little Joe after a couple years because it was it was in too much shade. My new little Joe is planted full sun.
I demand you remove hosta from your list !!!
Hahaha. Not gonna happen. 🤣🤣🤣

So its raw egg yolk and water in a spray bottle? How many egg yolks to water?

I'm in Minneapolis. To Michelle's great list, I added sedum to my favorites list. So many varieties. Bees cover the blooms.
You are so welcome!
