2FA is a rainbow colored cloak on the hulk of a problem hidden under it: weak passwords No matter how many precautions and multi-step approaches you take, if your password sucks (like 90% statistically do) then it doesn't matter. If it's reused, odds are they can login to your email, and then get login credentials for your phone provider, in which most allow you to read all SMS online. Use a phrase, not a word and numbers. Phrases are the strongest passwords when accompanied by variables. While not clicking a link is going to protect you from a droplet from evilginx, that doesn't mean you've never downloaded a bad file online in which malware may have dug itself in long ago. Get malwarebytes. Use the free trial. Quarantine and delete. Remove all web browser extensions or add-ons. You'll be good to go
