    An air conditioner kit for specific vehicles is cheaper, unless you use it for camping too I guess

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  Год назад

      It's about 1200$, it reduces the HP of the engine, reduces the MPG (even when not in use) and can't be taken camping, outdoors, etc.

    You said you never use the AC with the top off…lol. I run the ac on full blast with the top and doors off. It’s hot here in Florida and it’s nice to feel the ac breeze when at a stop light.

    11:00 Aleen shut that down real fast! If using the cooler dehumidified air already cooled in the Jeep for the inlet air, wouldn't it keep cooling down more and more as it cycled?

    It's $266 for all the AC parts to actually add AC to your Jeep. That saves about $1000 and takes up no room in your Jeep.

      The MIT for the 2.4L is about 1200$ + a lengthy install. Didn't want to tap into the low HP 2.4L. This way, we can use it during the summer and then also when we go camping. Pretty clutch having a tent cooler.

    Wouldn't keep the Jeep cooler if the fresh air intake just sucked air from inaide the jeep? Rather than from the hot air outside?

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  Год назад +1

      This is a good question! So here's the answer. It has two I takes. One from inside one from outside. The reason it needs one from outside is because if you use inside air, and vent exhaust air outside, you create a net vacuum inside which causes hot, non AC air to leak inside through all the cracks and crevices. The purpose of the exterior intake is to prevent that from happening and while it certainly takes more energy to cool down, it's overall better than the air that would leak in.

    wouldn't it be better to cancel the "fresh air hose" since that's gonna be hot air that needs to be cooled and let it suck in the already cooled air inside the cabin thus making it more efficient????

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  Год назад

      So it might appear to be but it isn't. If you don't have a fresh air hose you create an air pump, essentially pumping air from inside to outside, causing hot outside air to draft in. Same concept with home portable AC
