I love how you combined everything in one video. The boys of it, dos and do nots, what to pack, etc. most videos on hitchhiking only focuses on one of those topics. I've have an itch to hitchhike for years now and I'm finally getting into walking around town so it's just a matter of time til I actually do it. You're a visionary to me.
Thanks so much man! I hope you get around to doing it. It was by far one of the best times of my life totally worth it. hope the video helps you out. if you have any more questions just drop a comment and I respond! Extra tip I don't think I mentioned is to have rain coat or poncho to keep you and all your stuff dry.
@@averageguyisaacYes and it made me want to hitchhike across the us too! It might be a little harder since I live in Finland 🇫🇮 but maybe some day... Thanks for the inspiration!
You just gave me so much hope dude. I’m an 18 year old from Washington who wants to hitchhike from here to cali and then across to Florida. I wasn’t sure if this would be possible in today’s day and age, but now you’ve almost got me excited to try. Cheers bro ❤
You can but can't judge by the cover. I'm a 27 year old ex addict and I'm currently adopting a kid from a parent in a similar situation. People will surprise you. Most of my best long lasting friends are covered in tattoos and lived rugged lives. As a father of four I love kids and people with a good heart in general. Trust your instincts and travel on my people 🤟
@@averageguyisaac it's how you find yourself my friend, you go through the worst to realize what matters. It's different for everyone but personal truth is an interesting thing. Good luck on the journey of life man♥️
That's awesome! Please be safe and smart about who you let pick you up but enjoy it. It fly's by but its some of the most fun I have ever had in my life.
I was literally planning to go on a trip soon and I even bought a tent to prepare, but my tent ended up failing so I didn't end up going, but I still very badly want to go, and to see you only bring a hammock and a few things definitely inspires me and I am considering going anyways. I think it would be a shame if I didn't due to fear.
fear and doubt is always what stops me from trying things I always wanted to do. I'm always happy when I put fear on the back burner. you probably will too. The hammock was the move though. It was easy to put up every night and to hide off the roads so no one could see. I would just tell you to bring some kind of cover if it rains. hammocks are pretty cheap anyways too and I find them super comfortable too. not a big fan of tents.... hate sleeping on the ground.
Yeah brother! Keep your travels going. I wish I was traveling more... In reality you motivate me to get out there and travel more. Thanks for the comment and our out path might cross sometime in the future. looking forward to it!
Amazing journey, I wish I had the same amount of willpower/guts that you had to accomplish this feat. I love to travel, but it's expensive and I can't get over the fact that you have to let go, and put your trust in strangers, (law enforcement also freaks me out). Then not being guaranteed with finding a place to wash up and reset. Wow! Kudos to you mate. Your experience shows that it is still possible through faith, grit, and hard work, so it does give me hope. Maybe society will change for the better allowing this sort of traveling to become more common and accepted. Thanks for sharing, from Madman to Madman, Godspeed!
Thanks for the comment first of all. I think you are giving me too much credit. I started this youtube channel not only because its fun but to opens some peoples eyes that an average person really can do whatever they want with faith, grit, hard work and a little madness hahaha. One of the biggest take aways from the trip was that most people really are good. There is more good in this world then bad despite what you hear. The police left me alone for the most part but I was very aware not to get on there bad side lol. I was technically breaking the law in some states but they would turn the blind eye because I really wasn't hurting anyone. but thanks again I'm happy you found my video!
Trying to explore across our country. Just waiting for the perfect time to go. My parents always say that it's "Scary" and "expensive", but I'm just trying to see the world. "Female Viewer here." but it's inspiring to see a fellow young person with a love for travel!
it doesn't have to be expensive but the less expensive the scarier it gets. hahaha I'm sure It is harder and even more dangerous as a women. I probably couldn't even imagine. I'm glade it inspired you and thanks for watching.
Nice video. Thanks for taking us with you on your hitchhiking trip 😃 Rhough, if I were you I'd watch out for the subtitle police. They must be searching for you for crimes committed against synchronicity 😉
Sick ! I don't know you didn't get more views ! I'd love to do a similar concept, but crossing the whole american continent like some sort of a U. Starting in alaska, going down the West coast all the way to chili. Then going back up by argentina brasil... Finishing my trip in Montréal, passing by NYC and everything. I'm planning it rn. Hopefully I'll do it in 2030.

Hey man loved the video. How long did this whole journey take you?
It took me 7 days to get to Portland from philly. Then it took me around 7 days to do the 101 highway so I like a little over 14 days I believe.
