Paul Reed was top 10 last year in steals and blocks per minute. He was top 15 in rebs/minute. He also was committing tons of fouls in the process, but good lord the production and energy is impossible to ignore. Joker even gave him props after his career high against us.
Send Murray to Miami. They won't take him and that huge contract, but maybe involve Detroit or Washington. I'd rather not get 36 year old Jimmy Butler, but giving up MPJ now after how much he's improved, his resilience, our investment in him, etc.
I’m afraid the Nuggets are just gonna have to go through it based on prior signings they’ve made that handicapped them in the first place! The existing roster must improve otherwise it’s Jokic and little else….
I dont think there is much we can do, best solution is for Malone to grow up and play Nnaji at his natural 4 not being a undersized 5 who can't rebound and hope Saric gets healthy enough to play him in a similar role to when he started and got double doubles.
Denver needs a stronger bench, if they can't find one player for whom they would give Zeke and another player from the Pickett, Tyson, Julian, Saric group, then the front office sucks and can't do its job.... and there is no need to blame coach Malone for bad results as well as players who are playing positively this season. I'm glad that Russ is improving every game and finding himself where he doesn't make many mistakes and helps Denver a lot. I would also like Jamal to play the rest of the games like his last with the Clippers and for MPJ to slowly get into the rhythm of the three-point shot. The only thing they need to do is to offer Zeke, Pickett and Saric for one player, which would free up a place to sign a minimum contract with Holiday, who is one of the most important players for Denver's comeback after 0-2 in the series with Minnesota.
Paul Reed and Justin Holiday are very solid suggestions and doable! Personally i like trading Julian Strawther, Zeke Nnaji, Dario Saric, and a 2nd rd pick for Larry Nance Jr. That leaves two open roster spots and i advocate for adding: Robert Covington and Lonnie Walker(or Justin Holiday who already knows the system and is a solid defender but i prefer Walker because he can create off the dribble and is brilliant in transition) So now you have: Jordan, Nance Jr, Walker, Covington, Westbrook, Watson, Tyson, and Pickett off the bench..... Now 5 players for the bench unit are experienced pros and all with some postseason experience. That still leaves The Nuggets with a lot of young developing players: CB, Watson, Holmes, Cancar, Tyson, and Pickett. I don't really like the idea of dealing Strawther since he seems to be coming around on both sides of the court but The Nuggets are in win-now mode, not development mode.....so someone talented and young has to go out in a trade. I also like a simple deal like getting Paul Reed and signing Holiday. To me these are the types of deals Booth should be looking at.
Zeke makes enough money to get a life coach or start working on his mind with maybe Tony Robbin’s or read some books that help him get out of his own way. It is really up to him to put in the time and do the work to be better. He needs to learn to take advantage of his time on the floor. He needs to remember how lucky he is to be in the NBA.
This year is a loss. Just do your best and try to make some better moves next year. Fked up with Murray BIG TIME and now this is the consequences they have to face.
I think a 3 team trade with houston and the nets is our best bet. nuggets get cam johnson cam thomas d brooks nets get d holmes p wat zeke naji jabari smith 1 first from hou 1 second from Den houston gets MPJ Dorian FS Den and Hou get better. Nets clear cap, get 3 young pieces and picks. Everyone wins Thoughts????
I'm a no on that deal..... Cam Johnson hates to pass and i'm not a fan of Dillon Brook(i do acknowledge his value as a defender) If i'm The Nuggets i'm not giving up MPJ but Cam Thomas is a very nice player who i really like! I'm not sure what his current salary is but if they could find a way to add him without losing MPJ, that would be great!
The nets and rockets both say no to that. Every trade I see on these nuggets pods has the nuggets fleecing the other teams. Make them actually realistic
@@paulfritsch672 What part of that offer is a fleece? MPJ is an upgrade over D Brooks, DFS is about even with Jabari but he adds size and rbds to a team that needs it. Nets get a #1 pick, P wat and jabari are great young players on good contracts, D holmes is a first rounder, and again on a good contract. Like, where's the fleece?
@@sammyslam1 Cam johnson gives the nuggets cap flexibility, and now you have 3 real postseason playable players rather than 2 with one being an offensive liability. Also cam's a good shooter and defender. Thomas is a certified bucket (granted you're only getting him for half a season cause you won't be able to give him a max which is what he's looking for.
@actorajrivera1266 d Holmes is a injury risk. Doubt many teams want a guy coming off a Achilles. Jabari is super young. Dfs is old. Your deal has denver only giving up a 2nd. Lol. Give me a break. Nets or rockets say no for sure. Plus whi wants 4 more years of zeke. Hilarious. Your trade is like who wants the nuggets crap
MPJ for one player will not work! Denver's problem is depth. Losing Bruce, Jeftt, and KCP influenced how they played last and this year. The Front Office didn't adequately replace these players. Young players are not adequate replacements (except CB). Denver needs a "snipper" shooting guard, a small forward who shoots threes very well, and one power forward/center who can play next to Jokic but also minutes when he is on the bench. This is the only way the team gets back on the championship track.
I'm not opposed to a trade, but I don't think Butler is the right person. I don't think he has the nuggets character of the unselfishness and giving his heart and soul for the team. He's a potential troublemaker
Butler would be fantastic but not at the cost of MPJ! That to me would be a bad trade for The Nuggets because it makes them smaller and they already struggle with rebounding.... It also takes away their only true natural pure shooter.... CB, Murray, Jokic, and Gordon can all make their 3's at an above league avg rate, but i don't consider any of them natural pure shooters(Murray can get as hot as anyone from time to time but i don't consider him a pure shooter) Love Butler but i would only love Butler with Murray going out and Murray is not eligible to be traded.
@sammyslam1 I love Butler too as a player, but to me, I don't see him fitting in with the culture, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm not that much of an expert, it's just my impression. Also, since MPJ is the only one of the big ones who can be traded, it has to be for a certainty that the guy that they bring is gonna be a better player/fit for the Nuggets. They can't trade just to make a trade. We are kind of stuck with options.
@@IamHailey8 ....if it were me i would not be looking to move MPJ. His fit alongside Jokic and Murray is very sound from a schematic point of view. To me the only realistic trade pieces are some of the younger players with upside(CB, Watson, Strawther, or Nnaji) One or more of them could be enticing to a young up and coming team which has a solid veteran on their roster and i would try to add Saric's contract to the deal as a package(if it costs a 2nd rd pick to move his contract i would do it in a season where i am trying to win a title) Basically you want 8-9 playable rotation pieces for the postseason and 9-11 playable regular season rotation pieces. Saric and Jordan are likely not playable postseason players but we are seeing that Jordan is playable for the regular season in limited minutes. We have not seen that with either Nnaji or Saric, so those contracts need to be moved, even if it means losing someone like Strawther or Watson(players that might actually excite a trade partner) Right now The Nuggets need to build out a roster that has 9-11 solid regular season rotation players and i think they have 6-8 if i add Watson and Jordan (Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Braun, Murray, Russ, Jordan, and Watson) That means they need 2-3 better players to have a nice regular season roster that can match some of the better rosters in the nba and not wear out their best players. Strawther, Nnaji, and Saric in my view make the most sense to go out in a package deal for one really good veteran player. That creates two open roster spots that can be filled by veteran free agents.
Paul Reed was top 10 last year in steals and blocks per minute. He was top 15 in rebs/minute. He also was committing tons of fouls in the process, but good lord the production and energy is impossible to ignore. Joker even gave him props after his career high against us.
