    The price tag shows 5.25 for 2 boxes of Blueberry. The other one should be 7.45 for 2 too. You didnt check the price tag clearly.

      OMG, thanks for correcting us! As a foreigner, we only spent a limited time to explore the city. Sometimes, it's all about the first impression which can lead into a wrong conclusion. Sorry about that 🤝🏻🇸🇬

    If it does not compare the currency exchange, the cost of living in Malaysia is more expensive than Singapore. Strong in currency wherever you go is cheap, whereas weak in currency wherever you go is expensive. You may think their cost of living is cheap, but it may not for the locals who make a living.

    • @KrystianandVenus
      @KrystianandVenus  2 месяца назад +1

      You raise a crucial point about the importance of considering currency exchange when comparing the cost of living between countries. In Malaysia, locals might face a higher cost of living relative to their income, even if it seems cheaper from a Singaporean perspective due to the stronger SGD. The real measure of affordability and cost of living should consider local incomes and purchasing power. This perspective helps highlight that what might seem inexpensive to an outsider can still be burdensome for residents earning local wages 💕😇

    The prices indicated in supermarkets are per unit basis. So if each unit comes in 4 pieces or 2 bottles or 1 packet, then that is the price for the unit. GST tax component would have been included already.

    ION orchard rental is one of the most expensive in orchard road , is equivalent to IFC in hk. You are paying the extra “expensive “ because of the rent. That kiwi is price per box.

      Thank you for explaining it to us, we didn't know the area well and chose it randomly on google maps to go and see it. It was an interesting place to explore it 😆

      @@KrystianandVenus Even the mcdonald in orchard road is slightly expensive than elsewhere on the island. One good thing about Singapore is we got options to dine cheap. You just need to know where they are.

    在视频里很多价钱是price for 2 , 你应该没看清楚吧。
    你觉得物价会贵一点是因为加了消费税 9%GST。
    原来香港汇率已经是6:1,香港加油。
    这里还有很多消闲活动但都没去😢。

    the way you compare the prices of the goods are very wrong. expensive or not are not the way you said....because in Johor are expensive because you work and got your salary in RM....a worker low pay get average salary in Malaysia RM2000,,,and a bottle of milk cost RM20plus...that 1% of this salary....

    • @KrystianandVenus
      @KrystianandVenus  2 месяца назад +3

      Hi, thank you for pointing this out. It highlights the importance of considering local economic conditions when discussing affordability. I understand your concern about the way I compared the prices of goods. When discussing whether something is expensive or not, it's crucial to consider the local context, including the average salaries and cost of living in that area.
      In summary, the cost of living in Singapore is higher, the higher average salaries tend to balance this out, resulting in higher purchasing power compared to Malaysia. Conversely, lower salaries in Malaysia mean that even with a lower cost of living, some goods and services can represent a larger portion of an individual's income. 😇🛍️

    Singapore is expensive, mostly are import products. Fair Price no longer the cheapest supermarket, Sheng Siong and Giant is relatively cheaper I think. Food Court's food is not cheap also, better choice for me are those small shop (inside the same mall with no service charge's one). You have to go to hawker center for cheaper food!

    • @KrystianandVenus
      @KrystianandVenus  2 месяца назад

    Also when groceries, comparing where the foods are being imported from, from China, Malaysia are cheaper, foods imported from Japan, USA, further away and organics are always more expensive. 😂😂flown in are definitely more expensive. Cost of Shipments distance away has to be included in too.😂

      Distance not necessarily the deciding factor, more probably is the tax involved. Take for eg , egypt seedless grapes which i recently bought is less than $4 , egypt is about 8000+km from us. Certain countries and regions tend to sell their products more expensive than others,like korea,japan and taiwan.

    Just curious what is your purpose of comparing prices in Singapore and Jb? I find the whole exercise meaningless because of the great disparity in income! Want them cheap pls go to Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia!

    • @KrystianandVenus
      @KrystianandVenus  2 месяца назад

      The purpose of comparing prices is to understand the cost of living differences and purchasing power across regions. While incomes vary, these comparisons can help identify more affordable options and economic trends. To be honest, I find Singaporean is quite lucky because the people do earn really well (of course they need to study & work hard) in the country so that their purchasing power is very high compared to those people who work in the low income countries 💕🤝🏻

      Quite true , as a singaporean i attest to that. Reason is because we banned alot of substances in our food products. Whatever the FDA, EU and the UN banned, we banned as well. You want safe but you got to sacrifice in someway else.

      新加坡好些名牌餅家都是自己手工做的, 味道比較濃, 但價錢比較高, 但如果你要買便宜的, 超市就有一些從馬來西亞進口的, 但那種都是工廠大量生產的, 味道會比較差些。

    Always look at the official statistics, such as Gini coefficient or miserable index. In Sg, local residents, working expats or tourists are tales of many stories. Most of Sg foods are imported, vis-à-vis Malaysia got many subsidies for obvious reasons, and HK got China as huge backup for many daily supplies, including Potable Water. And 3 years of Covid-19 is a best litmus or stress test whether a country able to pull itself out promptly and back to accelerating mode.
