Oh, and that way of falling by the spiral staircases is absolutely GENIUS :O
the teleporters was a really nice design, just wish that we have the option to turn the light off though

You could also place a firefly in a glass somewhere in the room or a star in a bottle as a lamp to explain the blinking light i guess :D
Woudnt adding a next to it light would cover out the flickering one? or perhaps a mod that allows for that to happen can be found and used?
the sound is tbh more annoying than the blinking lights,at least you can blame the lights on your armor glows :/

I knew i would use this video eventually, i watched it within a week or two of release, was more of a “get through the game as fast as possible” type of player. I now play to relax, and build stuff mostly, its a good job i saved this to a playlist for safe keeping 😂 came in more than handy with my castle build!

good job with the actuated spiral staircase. I've always used the regular design and have in fact been annoyed by the descent speed, but never tried actuating it before. I'll definitely try it out later

I wish they'd add more modern type blocks, like more types of plating and whatnot. Trying to make a industrial-style staircases is a pain.

I too, come from the future... with the spiral staircase, just paint the left side a brighter color. Then the further stairs are darker, the closer stairs are lighter. Gives off an even better illusion of depth!

with the actuated white stone stairs (spiral staircase) it looks like a shadow is being cast on the stairs so
it may be helpful to not put a light source on the edge there if you decide to do that

I've used the spiral staircase before, but never the actuated version. I'll have to try that and the teleporter one when I get the steampunk. Sadly I'll need an alternative paint because I don't have shadow paint. Great video, and I can't wait for the elevator tutorial.

In Hardmode the painter sells shadow paint but I guess you can replace it with black until then. It might look good but I don’t know
I've always liked your stairs. I've just been doing spirals for years because they're easy and compact.... XD I'll try to work some different styles into new builds soon.

This is super helpful. For some reason when creating 2D stuff I always have a problem with visualizing perspective. That's why I don't draw anymore.

Just want to say orange is the lighter version of brown. Might not work for every material but it should work well enough if you want to actuate wood.

You can hammer platforms on spiral staircase so they don't connect to walls, it is going to change look of it slightly.

If you can find room/ remove the platforms, you can hide the switch inside the background door with shadow paint.
Works for the top floor, but ruins the stair effect on the bottom floor. What I'd actually do is use a auto door timer, which activates the door if you stand in front of it for a couple of seconds. But that's a topic for a future wiring tutorial

the beam is actually probably some kind of wall. Y'know the supports for the underground cabins? Try those.

how did you do that texture on the sides of the tower? looks really cool
What on earth are you using to pre-select the paint you want, am I just a filthy amateur, or is it a mod I’m not aware.
If I may ask, regarding the teleporter stairs, are NPCs able to use them or will I have to add a pressure plate to it? I have been trying to research into it, but nowhere does it specifify whether NPCs can use switches & levers.

I would like to know what mod your using. I noticed that ur paint brush set thing is a different color than the original and how do you get ur waterfall "foamy steam thing" really white since I tried using that effect and ended up with a more... grayish tone. :( can u explain that more in detail? Please and thank you!
The only mods I use are CheatSheet, Max Stacks Plus, and "No mobs and no time." None of them impact the way terraria looks or performs at all. The only reason I can think of stuff looking slightly different is possibly video settings. Maybe the lighting modes? I use color lighting mode. If it's not that, I'm unsure. I don't use any mods or anything that would change how Terraria looks.

@Khaios Where did the Stone Platforms come from? I assume it's a mod, as I used to have (Tremor?), which had Stone Platforms but I don't recall Tremor Stone Platforms looking like that.
I didn't mean literal stone platforms, I meant that they looked like stone. They're dynasty wood platforms painted gray. Sorry for the confusion >.
