The idea of splitting Red Arrow and Arsenal into two different characters, allowing for development of BOTH story arcs without sacrificing either incarnation of the character, was ingenious.

I kind of had a hate-love thing with the relationship in Young Justice because in comics lian died and then cheshire blamed roy and that basically drove him made becoming a drug addict and becoming arsenal.
Indifferent Star ... a bit unclear to where the love-hate part comes in. Dislike that they went somewhere else with it by having Roy prime go Arsenal instead, or appreciation?

its not exactly one sided, he is just torn because he is essentially a cop and she is a crook, he cant take her life of crime, but at the same time he clearly has feelings for her. Cheshire on the other hand gives no shits and will blatantly flirt and show signs she wants him, good guy or no. At some point she resigned from her life of criminality to be with him. You can tell by his comment about her "going back to the life of crime". Though he makes that comment of "cheshire is mine" when he goes to apprehend her, Id have to say based on personality, Cheshire is far more possessive of Roy, than he is of her.

Imagine what would happen if Cheshire didn't catch herself and said Artemis' name, there'd probably be a lot of explaining to do early on
Possibly, but Artemis still goes by Artemis whether it's her secret identity or as a hero. If asked, all either Artemis or Cheshire would have to say is that she heard her name by a teammate (granted that's if Cheshire doesn't feel like giving away her sister's identity).
Although, on the flip side, I don't think Cheshire knew Artemis was still going to call herself as Artemis at this point.
I dont think she was catching herself, she knew Artemis was nearby, which is one reason she relished the kiss with Roy, the entire scene was her screwing with Artemis. Like oops, I almost blew your cover and making out with one of your teammates.

Interesting when Cheshire says at the beginning. “I know what you’re after, do you?”, it sounds flirtatious but after you’ve seen all the first season you now know she had a different meaning all together, Red Arrow always had a goal that he was unaware of.

Yes because there’s no way doing the “right” thing wouldn’t back fire with enemies and cops hunting her down. Waller would’ve forced her to be part of the suicide squad or Jades enemies would try to hurt her child and Roy.

I think the writers intentionally told the voice actor for Speedy to let out a little gasp when she grabs him @0:49. He's also totally into it @0:55, and he just ever-so-slightly closes his eyes when he LETS her draw him in closer for a kiss. She seduced him and it totally worked. So much sexual tension for a show from cartoon network.
