    And my two biggest questions
    1. How best can we smooth his symptoms - he has had PD for 12 years. He now has dementia, hallucinations, and aphasia
    2. How much longer after onset of dementia will he live? He’s quickly starting to forget how to do simple tasks (going to the bathroom, dressing himself, and other simple tasks).
It sounds like 12 years is a long time to have lived with PD.
My dad takes resperidone. Twice per day. Just started about two weeks ago. Not sure if it’s working. Should we stop giving him levodopa?

Hi there - We have more information on PD and Dementia at www.parkinson.org/understanding-parkinsons/non-movement-symptoms/dementia, as well as information on hallucinations at parkinson.org/Hallucinations.
Parkinson’s disease impacts people in different ways. Not everyone will experience all the symptoms of PD; even if people do, they won’t necessarily experience the symptoms in quite the same order or at the same intensity.
To discuss your dad's symptoms in more detail, we invite you to contact our free PD Helpline: 1-800-4PD-INFO (473-4636) | Helpline@Parkinson.org

My father had Parkinson's disease and passed away almost 5 years ago. I think my sister has it too. She's only 62. However, she's falling sooner than people do with Parkinson's disease and the medication is not working.

I watched video on 2 kinds of PD, tremor dominat and PIGD (Partial instibility gait difficulty) which is when the have balance issues, falling opposed to the tremor being the dominat behavior. It said that the levadoap do3s respond well to PD with PIGD. maybe look into the 2 types and the PIGD signs and medicine to help. I just looked it up and it's made by this same channel , 2hat re the different subtypes of PD)
