Much appreciated guys! I enjoy it. I never wanted to get into any clever tricks to gain numbers or subs. Just let it grow organically. I just wanna do my thing and hopefully encourage a few of us to have a go ourselves and sharing a few stories along the way. I see it as a great community. Kind regards.
6am on a Sunday morning in Wales UK. Nice cuppa and a relaxing time watching Gary and his easy going style. What more can a petrol head ask for, keep it up Gary, really enjoy the videos.
I really love and appreciate these videos. So well presented, they must take hours in the editing. On the subject of sealed for life ball joints, I recently gave my son my 1962 Citroen ID 19 which I’d had for 20 years. Every steering joint, driveshaft coupling and other ball joints equipped with grease nipples meaning that not one has needed replacing in over 60 years. I’ve owned several DS Citroens over the years and what marvellous cars they have been. Not a greasing point in sight on my ‘’80’s RR Silver Spirit. …..
I agree. Some of that French engineering is so simple and years ahead of its time. I love the SM although the Maserati engined model seemed a little ambitious for the time, what a thing of beauty. Regards.
Most enjoyable car show. The care and thoughtfulness that goes into each project is second to none. Thanks Gary for the excellent way you transfer the information across.😊
The TV is the main way that lies and propaganda is poured into our minds, while we’re relaxed and our guard is down. We threw out our TVs in mid-2020. Because of my former profession, it was stark that literally everything they were telling us was lies. Nothing has changed.
This 190 SL is a fully restored car now with a lovely patina. The technical parts are overhauled or renewed. The car can now be used as a daily driver. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😊🇩🇪
Of all the soft tops ever made this is my favorite one.Perfect colour combination and a great pair of hands for the upkeep. This is just the stuff of dreams.
Another great and informative video you make it all look so easy your skills are second to none he will be over the moon with the results Another great guy in las Vegas needs your help with his corniche video bob is wanting you to get in touch for your help more content coming i hope
What's better than working on a cool car, in a right roomy shop! Its clean work with all your upgrades! My Granddad had a couple of Fintails. We picked them up on the Docks of Newark NJ... Aahhh, so nice!
Great channel, so therapeutic to watch I even enjoy the music, anyway I hope your channel explodes and gets all prescribers it deserves, jealous of the weather though as it’s pissing down and freezing here in Ireland. Come on the pool 😊
All through this restoration i have been thinking, who do you remind me of? Then it came to me 'Dexter' from the TV show of the same name! Love your work and narration. i an looking forward to watching more
Hey Gary - Tipping down with rain here , just watched it with my feet infront of the log burner - a very therapeutic episode with the soothing back ground music. I think youve got the whole blend of mechanics , methodology, and music just right - keep it up 👌Cheers Stew
Gary you’re a good mate to keep popping over, but it does make a great show. I, like many of your audience, appreciate your sensible and not rip it all out approach unless needed.
Morning Gary - love your approach! Inspired me to get the head gasket of my DBS Vantage done!! I wish I had the ability to do it myself! Cheers from South Wales, Richard
That transport section in the old Liverpool Museum never recovered from the move/rebuild. Was magic going in there as a kid and checking out all the big stuff.
@@classic.obsession Exactly! My arl fella always blagged me that the Sentinel steam truck in there was the exact one that his arl fella had driven on the docks. :D Got a vague memory of the oversized/large exhibits bit that was down on Princes Dock.
Well I just finished flushing the fuel tank on my '57... now i see i need those bumper gaskets on the over-riders....struggling to keep up in UK February cold.. but keep 'em coming... ! Looking forward to next instalment.
sorry about the weather Gary least the cars getting there looks amazing i got you 2 reflectors for the rear bumper ha save you turning it round what a job
Great video. My father, brother and I drove up to Griffith Observatory through the winding LA hills in 1985. Wonderful views. James Dean was there I believe? Beautiful merc.
Another great video Gary. I love your choice of music, its really goes with the LA vibe and all things cool. I like your no faff way with restoring all the cars you work on. You make it appear effortless. Next time you need someone to lend a hand filming give me a call.
I love the shows but the music….well some of it (having watched loads of Gary’s videos) grates on me a bit now. Thanks for your efforts on these videos though Gary, awesome job.
Another superb episode Gary, would be great to see you cruising around L. A in the SL top down, shades on arm out of the window, you’d look really cool mate. Keep up the great work !
Great video again Gary. You can't beat a warm climate car. Talking of which, 4" of snow already today in Huddersfield! Bilstein's are my favourite as well, you just can't beat them. in fact, all the Bilstein group parts are good, Febi etc.
I've seen a 1958 Merc 190SL at my local Mercedes dealer which is on display. It isn't quite as good as that white one. I loved the R107s at the show. There's also a 1984 R107 380SL on display in the same dealer as the 190SL. There were quite a few RHD cars at that show.
Its the rainy season there, typically. But with the warming planet the state has been subjected to continuous rain events referred to as atmospheric rivers.
It's great to see this rural life, it would even better if we could have the odd foot note as to the name of the different types of fruit and veg shown.
Did? Or do now? There are many stories of people purchasing a ‘Friday car’ with no end of problems back in the day but I’m still proud of what Ford and jaguar produced and achieved in my home town over the years. Regards.
Ford's Halewood (now JLR) do mark all torque things on the car way back in day. I know Halewood did as I work there for 34yr. You should ask them for a tour now it's JLR THEY LOVE to see you, you live on the door step? Why not
Hey Gary. I used to own Studio City Motorcars. You're in my neck of the woods. Let me know if you need a helping hand working on the Mercedes 190SL while you're down here.
Be careful when you grind the spark will make the rest of the car rusty have you ever seen an old car where the hole for the antenna was drilled and the iron filings not cleaned
@@classic.obsession was at the old cars and coffee in Malibu a few years ago and Bruce Meyer was there in his Bizzarrini (w/raced at Le Mans) talking about it with Leno and Kaitlyn Jenner. So LA.
Question for you Gary ? Where are you getting your tools for work in LA ? Do you hire a set or take yours with you ? There’s gotta be so many little niggly jobs that require a certain tool but if you haven’t got your normal set with you, that must slow you down a fair bit ?
Absolutely. I wish I had my tools here. Sick of nipping out to hardware stores for for bits of tools. In hindsight I should’ve just bought a descent set straight away. Everything is so far away which eats at your time and crazy expensive! Regards.
How you only have 25k subscribers is a sin. It won’t be long before this channel ‘goes large’. Never change your down to Earth, can do style. 👍🏻
Agreed - some far less captivating channels with much higher subs!

Centre point steering like my Citroen DS 👌
So soothing Gary, watching you work around some of these ( forgotten) cars...thanks...
Great episode as usual - thx again Gary! Really positive to see how you are growing this channel over time. I am true fan.
Most enjoyable car show. The care and thoughtfulness that goes into each project is second to none. Thanks Gary for the excellent way you transfer the information across.😊
Nice, patient work on the old Mercedes, Garry. Looking good. Car meet has diverse collection of cars .
This should be hour long episodes on the Telly 🤘😎🤘🇬🇧

Hi Chris here from UK 6am. Right bloke and right car brilliant
Another first class video Gary and a joy to watch.

Gary you allways get the best from the people you meet you probably made his year spending time getting to know his car well done.
John
I like the look of the two motorbikes in your LA garage.
Isn’t it great to work on cars with so much room around the engine bay. Love the simplicity of older cars. Excellent as usual Gary 💪🏻

Brilliant, Cannot wait until the next episode!
As an Australian that was in LA in Jan last year, can agree - they absolutely freak out if it rains when they’re driving! 😆
Great work, great video - and the Hudson chap was the real deal.
Great channel 👍

I have a 190 sl could where you purchased the new battery !! you always have great car repair videos!!
Awesome episode, thanks! (And an Aston Martin Lagonda at that meeting!👏🏻)
Such a fascinating channel, I'm envious of the knowledge you've accumulated.
This should be presented in high schools across America. It’s an honorable trade.

Hopefully you torqued fasteners for bushings when suspension was under load.
Yep. Wheels on the ground…
Love the series Gary!.
the Hudson guy is a good speaker
JLR do use yellow paint to confirm torque checked.

Gary, I bet you'd jump at a UK car that only had rusty overrider bolts 😀Would you consider importing a dry state car for your next merc project?
Of course..
just great, please don't Sharpen the pace

if our lad Michael cane, was a Scouser you would have to be him. 👈👺👀👀👍
How much in parts did you spend to rebuild it? Great work as usual 👏
👍🏴👍
A Lagonda, and was that a Bizzarinni?
I know. I’ve actually driven one of those Lagondas years ago. So futuristic and the Bizzarinni is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve seen. Regards.

Congratulation, good job, always interesting ,but, please, STOP that little music!
If both sides of the antiroll bar were dismantled, then maybe the bar could come out and be completely painted instead of only the extremities...
