The acting is top notch. When the camera cuts to the back seat of the car and the Landlady is there (along with Landlord being up front) the two in the back have this aura that their souls just left their bodies from pure fear. They sold it so well it’s hilarious. Serious tears of laughter every time I see this scene!

This movie is in my TOP 5 favorite movies of ALL time. They don't make them like this anymore. And this whole scene is the perfect blend of suspense, action and comedy!

Growing up I just thought it was a mildly entertaining, goofy kung-fu film. Nowadays I realize what a gem this really was and it's even more fun watching to this day. CLASSIC
Same, I didn't like the movie at all when I first saw it as a teenager, finding the joke lame. Now I believe it's a masterpiece in its own way.

Jokes aside, the battle scene was without any doubt, quite excellent, the spearman one was truly magnificent, due of the dance that he did to defend himself with the help of his spears, it made the whole scene awesome.
Even the death of the Leg Guy doesn't feel like we were robbed or cheated. He was the only one without weapons, meaning even if he'd joined the fight later, he'd have been just as helpless against the Musicians.

I watched this movie on theaters with my friends from highschool after we finished the exam back then, still remember how loud we laughed and still remember my friend's funny face when he laughed so hard until he cries on the throwing knifes scenes 😂 😂

I love how the Tiger Claw Kung Fu practitioners actually have claws. It’s little details like that that really make this movie really cool and unique in my opinion, like you can tell there is definitely a mystical element to this movie.

Nah, some of it looks really sloppy, especially the part 7:34 till 7:45. But overall the movie has good effects, better kungfu and even better comedy, it is jam-packed with legendary actors, stuntmen and choreographers and will therefore always be a classic and stand the time, even if the FX are sometimes a bit off.

But since he was anti - China and mock the communist in Beijing with Love movie. It is harder for him to make movie now with all the restriction. China is pushing for "instant noodle" type of movie , basically putting those pretty handsome celebrities in a movie and just make some garbage movie or drama for the audience.

Gen Z is 1997-2012. As a 98 adult now, I assure you some of us do indeed understand and appreciate these masterpieces. I grew up with Hong Kong cinema. Legends such as Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Jet Li, Collin Chou, and Stephen Chow.

I've watched this about 10 times now.
In my high school years Shaolin Soccer was my jam. Soccer was life for me at that time and I loved that movie, but it also led me to Kung Fu Hustle and the outrageous awesomeness of this movie still brings laughs till this day.

I saw this masterpiece of a movie when it first came out in the cinema and loved it so much that as soon as it was released on DVD, I bought it. The option was on the DVD to watch the dubbed English version and also have English subtitles. They are almost two different scripts, both of them hilarious. You are laughing so much at what they say and even more at what you're reading, because they don't match up!
For some reason is funnier in spanish like most asian movies are funny dubbed in spanish
