      It was a clear hand ball. But a very important decision for us. Would have felt deflating not to win.
      Watch City squad on that podium and we are still well off it. We sort of wilted in big games (Rice btw especially guilty for all the he is diff maker) But overall we over performed in league. We need 6 or 7 in and out squad and that isn't realistic esp as unlike City we won't get a lot of money in.

    Transfers don't work like that. You look for the qualities the squad lacks and address those shortcomings surgically. Doku wasn’t signed because he might contribute 20 GA per season. He was signed for the isolated 1v1s. We need more transitional threat, central carriers, midfielder who can control the tempo, another outlet upfront.

    • @DarthQueefious
      @DarthQueefious Месяц назад

      Yep, look at the Ake signing. No rival fan was jealous of that signing, but he had something - leftfooteed versatility and excellent 1v1 defending, that City lacked. Over the last 2 years, he has probably been City's best defender. It is coaching and knowing what you need, not buying the biggest name or best player. Only Haaland has been that for City under Pep.

    • @PaulSebastiani_SEN_BA
      @PaulSebastiani_SEN_BA Месяц назад +17

      Fantastic point.
      Great call. Central carriers and transitional threat is what we need more.
      Technically we are brilliant at finding our way out of the back half, but it’s the incisiveness and lack of speed on the way out when opposition defence isn’t set which we lack.

    • @singalexsong
      @singalexsong Месяц назад +11

      We need a proper dynamic CM. Not a CDM playing CM or a CAM playing CM, but a specialist CM. Out of all of our midfield options Odegaard is the only player who has any real impact on attack and has special moments. Yet Odegaard is a bit like Ozil in terms of he passes where he can shoot. We need a CM who likes to shoot and does it well. City have Foden, KDB, Rodri who can all ping one in from 25 yards……..Also Rice doesn’t have the skill or attacking knowledge to be elite as an 8.

    • @v2-kaj

    I found it ridiculous to even think of selling Trossard. He is still super underrated. Just to remind you:

    Arsenal and Palace had the least rotated squads in the league, City and Brighton had the most rotated squads.

      i like the idea, but man are these guys not the right people to make that kinda content except James. I rather James and Graham do it. Lee, Turkish, and Jordan have terrible takes on players and tactics. They rely too much on the eye test. They do not possess enough technical and tactical knowledge as a group to dedicate an entire podcast to the prospect of each signing.
      Imagine if they did this podcast at the beginning of the season for Havertz. Jordan expressing his bewilderment on Havertz position, Turkish moaning on the transfer fee, all of them slagging Arteta for buying a Chelsea "reject", etc.
      Actually a better idea would be James and a guest from the community that is better at this kind of player analysis. James already collaborates with people from outside this channel all the time.

    This was a ridiculous season. All attack have been underperfroming thoughout. Main striker Jesus a relative failure. Marti even worse, Nketia was "don't even start this conversation". Saka was ok but not the one when you could say, he carried the attack the whole time. Ode and Tross (substitute for most of the season) were good contributors and Kai joined them just in less than half season. And we really challenged City all the way with this attack. I remember the time when we had Henry, Bergkamp, Wiltord, Kanu, Pires and Ljunberg in attack. Its when we won the title. Liverpool had great trio in Salah, Firmino and Mane when they pipped City to the title. Current Arsenal attacking players are not close to those heights.

They are unbeaten since december in the league and we all say they didn't even look that good...
    All in all, we have to be really proud of Mikel and this Arsenal team, most of our guys are not even in their prime, our best form is still to come and trust me, in the next 5-6 years only Arsenal can challenge City for the league...

There is no way they shoot from the original foul position. It is way to far forward. Ref had a shocker on that one. Good job we did not lose because of it and maybe why he allowed the second goal handball issue to stand.

    To close the gap for next season. We start by winning all our home games or at least we don't lose any home games. We lost home games the last 2 seasons. Secondly I would like us to be more streetwise, meaning if we meet a team that setups a low block we struggle and sometimes lose the odd game. We need to position ourselves not to lose such games. If we replicate the same number of away wins as last season, we stand a very strong chance of winning the league. The good thing now is that we're fine tunning the squad.

    I think with David Raya, maybe Arteta is regarding shot stopping as the least important part of a goalkeepers job... if he's having to make a match saving shot, then we've already failed to defend. Raya is comfortable sweeping high up the pitch, calmly plucks crosses out of the air and distributes very well. Maybe he won't make a match saving stop, but in our system, he doesn't have to and that's where he's an improvement on Ramsdale.

    this season we still depend on some luck with injuries. There was some luck with Saliba and Gabriel, but you could see White needed some rest, in the winter and yesterday (unlucky with Timber full season and everyone else for some time). Few good signings this summer could cover most short term injury problems for the next season.

    That sound 😂..... 100% Jordan! Remember that old video that used to be that noise and you used to hear either Brainstorm or Green Needle?
    You can see when Jordan clocks he's got it on loud & turns it off 😂

    Issak is the best fit. He can play both middle and wings

    Arteta appears to have a growth mindset, which is essential here and not every experiment to improve those 'fine margins' will work as planned - but he has found a way this season and it bodes well for next season in terms of how we finished. Learnings from the run-in, the pacing of the season and in particular, cup games and champions league - all with a bit of luck needed too. The team and the manager must continue to learn, adapt, gain experience, physical and psychological flexibility. I see no reason why we can't overtake Man City, based on our recent progress. Well done on the podcast too, gents - even Jordan and the 'but I love sex and Netflix' controversy.

    I want Eze
    Bruno plays predominantly as a 6 at Newcastle and hes right footed. For me he does similar work as Rice, he wouldnt be the one id go for especially at 100m

    You dont need a winger we have jesus and trossard as rotations to martinelli and saka.
    We need a striker and midfielder.
    Isak and bruno would level up our team.

    I think Diallo looks promising and we’re probably now in a position to get him I would love it if we bought him off them
