So I know this is a late reply, but I just finished partners in time, and felt like it was good, but could’ve been better. I’ll say a 7/10
Same my first game.
9.8/10 game there is no perfect game.
I thought I was the only one who grew up with partners in time :)
Trivia.
In an interview after Dream Team's release, AlphaDream revealed that they had considered making Bowser a playable character early on in the planning but scrapped the idea to keep the focus on Mario and Luigi. They also mentioned including Geno and Mallow from Super Mario RPG in a future game, but due to lack of money to create their sprites in the 3DS artstyle, the idea was left behind.

Eh idk, I feel like Dream Team has always been universally liked
Even though BiS is still my favorite, I can relate with the actual plumbers being boring to play as, but for different reasons. Even ignoring the fact that Bowser is much more enjoyable to play as, nowadays I find the 2D areas with the bros being some of the most meh and tedious areas/segments in the whole series. Besides the fact the areas themselves are forgettable and some of the puzzles are not very fun, there's not really a sense of progress because it's always just "Fix a problem in Bowser's body" and/or "unlock a new ability for Bowser".
Combined with the fact the combat is just classic "Mario and Luigi" with no gimmicks beyond the badges, these sections feel like they just pad out the game. I think Dream Team's "Dream" sections handled this kind of segment MUCH better, because not only is the combat there REALLY fun, but the dream worlds are more interesting to explore and are a lot more memorable.
Oh hey Shyguymask, love the videos from you, that’s a very good point that I totally forgot to mention, I made a video ranking the sections inside of bowser and I talked about not really liking the Energy Hold and the Flab Zone, luckily for those parts of the game I think they are spaced out enough where you can play as bowser and still have a fun time. And 100% I agree with Dream Team using the Dream Worlds much better

Am I the only one who likes mario and luigi
Here's my opinion on each game.
Superstar Saga: This game is way too easy, as if you know what you're doing, you can steamroll the whole game, especially if you are overleveled. However, it still has things going for it such as the charm, the exploration, and the world design.
Partners in Time: I really like how dark the story can get, and using the characters to explore the overworld is enjoyable, but my biggest problem with the game is the fights. For the bosses, either they have too much HP or I don't do enough damage. This doesn't make them challenging, it just makes them monotonous and is why they take forever to beat. As for the fights against certain enemies, I take way too much damage from a single attack and don't get enough experience from enemies, even though I fight every single enemy I come across. For a game that makes me experiment through trial and error to learn enemies'attack patterns, it feels like there's barely any room for error. Also, controlling all four characters in combat doesn't feel intuitive, especially when I have to alternate between buttons I'm not used to. The worst offender is easily Elder Shrooboid. I beat both Princess Shroobs at level 27, so I went into these bosses underleveled. I know this because I go into certain areas of the game feeling like I don't do enough damage, can't take a hit, or don't have enough HP to survive for a while.
Bowser's Inside Story: This game has a lot going for it, such as the ability to play as Bowser, the final boss, and the return to using two characters in combat. There isn't too much I dislike about the game, but I dislike some of the bosses, namely the Fawful Express and Bowser X.
Dream Team: This is a decent game with the updated graphics, the areas, and the Luiginary attacks. The biggest gripe I have with this game is the countless amount of filler this game has. Also, the giant battles are clunky, their actions have overly strict timing that drags out the fights, and the fights are already way too long as is.
Paper Jam: This game has an epic final boss, it presents the Bowsers as actual villains while maintaining their characters, and it even gives the Koopalings their own personality. The Trio attacks are also enjoyable to pull off. However, it also has some problems. Notable problems include the wasted potential, catching Paper Toads, and the Papercraft battles being inferior replacements for the giant battles.
Now that I have finally played all of the games my list is

Sunbeam Plains: Generic Grass area
Doop Doop Dunes: Generic Desert area
Twinsy Tropics: Drags on longer than it should
Gloomy Woods: Both visits are OUTSTANDING
Mount Brr: Would’ve been a cool original mountain area if Mount Pajamaja didn’t exist
Bowser’s Castle: Very short for no reason
Neo Bowser’s Castle: Steals the name of the much better Neo Bowser Castle from Dream Team
At least Mount Burr had The trio drill to be fair but most of these are very accurate
@@ShroobInvader Yeah don’t get me wrong I actually do like Mount Brr as an area in general but I just think Mount Pajamaja did a much better job with the climate change on your way up but Mount Brr is still great despite being way too big

3. Superstar Saga (I'd say the remake is tied for my 3rd favourite game)

@@barelyhere7200 Yeah, it's strange that the Pal version added Bros. to the titles (although the Pal version of DT & PJ released before the American version, so maybe "Bros." was removed for the American release), and I agree that they sound better without Bros, but personally I prefer the name Dream Team Bros over Dream Team.
Aside from that, the only other regional differences that I know of are that some equipment have different names in each version. For example, in DT the Pro Boots are called the Master Boots in the American version. It's be interesting to know if there are other regional differences.

In my honest opinion I think Mario Luigi Dream Team is a masterpiece, I loved the plot and the levels, the villain Antasma was great, I loved the concept of the Dream World and giant Luigi battles, and the boss fights in this game were way more awesome than any other Mario Luigi games

@@ShroobInvader oh and also after everything else I just mentioned there's still my love of Prince Dreambert and the Pi'illo Folk, who in my opinion are the most adorable creatures in the whole Mario universe. Unlike the Paper Toads in Paper Jam I love keeping my eye out for the stone Pi'llo's and entering the Dream World to save each and everyone of them from their nightmare chunks and hearing what they have to say afterwards. And after collecting all the Pi'illo's you get the legendary Zee Egg, which is way better than the Paper Toad Trail to me. And as for Prince Dreambert, he was a fun and humorous character as well, he took Starlow's place as Mario and Luigi's guide while in the Dream World, and in the real world his interactions with Starlow are cute as well, Dreambert's subjects respected him greatly so he must be a kind and insperational leader to all of them too. So yeah Prince Dreambert and the Pi'illo Folk hold a huge place in my heart for the Mario Luigi franchise.

Oh, did you know that Partners in Time has the fewest bosses in a Mario and Luigi Game? (if you exclude the "tutorial bosses, Baby Bowser, Junior Shrooboid, and the Shroobs fight that gets the bros and babies to meet together), and Shrowser himself, you end up with 12 Bosses.
Yes but I don’t think any of the bosses are genuinely bad which imo is a good trade off
@@ShroobInvader yeah. I agree. One of the biggest flaws superstar Saga has for me is actually Bowletta. I actually of dislike it. And I feel like it would have worked better if Fawful fought you in WooHoo University instead of Cackletta.
BIS the main boss then is my biggest complaint. I like it, but it really fails in the Bowser Boss Fights. Give it a Base tone and I'd rate it higher.
Dream Team, I can agree the tutorials part is slow. But once you get past the tutorials the game really does pick up.
Paper Jam, I wish Papercraft Bowser had used the Bowser Duo theme (remastered version)

@Cyrus South design is terrible, boss music is crap, the gimmick of the fight is terrible. OG fight is a massive joke. At least the remake makes it somewhat better, but I vibe more with Princess Shroob or even the duo bowser fight from paper jam.

The only flaw with Partners in time is Shrowser, why the hell does he exist? Elder Princess Shroob was a really good boss, and 100% should’ve been the final boss.
well, nintendo always want to make bowser to be the final boss on the series, but tbh it's the most dumbass decision to make the finall boss include bowser like that
Partners in time is definitely a great pick for #1. Personally Dream team is my least favorite due the motion controls, slow pacing and really long playtime.

I just noticed that tomorrow is the 8 year anniversary of Mario & Luigi Dream Team. And a lot of people here just love Dream Team, since it did show Luigi at his best

If you think the Superstar Saga Remake is the worst one, the original isn't any better. In fact I think it's the most flawed one because of how unbalanced it is. Mario and Luigi can't hold the hammers for more than 2 seconds and it makes dodging with hammers really annoying, some attacks are really unfair and are the dodge window is extremely small. Just look at Chucklator (or whatever it's called) and its gun attack, or Ludwig spin attack, which not only your jumps have to be precise, but also you can't even see his shell when he's behind you because he's offscreen. Also Mush Badges are extremely broken, if you have more than 100 mushrooms the damage you do is so high that you can OHKO almost anything with Chopper Bros. Thankfully the remake fixed the annoying hammers and the unbalanced attacks. I still love OG Superstar Saga but it's definitely the most flawed one of the series
I think something else is that the music is much worse in the original, Joke’s End is my favorite area in Superstar Saga but I know in the original I probably won’t like it because of the music
Personally I think that the bros. in BIS are not overshadowed - the icky, gross atmosphere of Bowser's insides is one of my favorite parts of the game. Since the brothers' goal was to get out of Bowser, I found it exhilarating when they finally got out. However I can see that if you don't like SS as much as the others you won't like the brothers' adventure outside of Bowser's body as they are similar in terms of gameplay. I experienced BIS first so it didn't feel same-y to me
Yeah that’s fair, and it’s not that I dislike playing as Mario and Luigi, but Playing as bowser is so much more fun to me and it’s why I love playing the game so when he is locked it does sink my opinion of the game for a bit

6: Inside story remake: Making an already easy game even easier, no thanks, also they made the inside sections even less interesting somehow and most of the remade tracks are downgrades imo
5: partners in time: it’s good, but every boss is a damage sponge and that just kinda kills it for me
4: paper jam: good gameplay, but ( insert complains everyone includes when talking about this game )
3: superstar saga ( remake ): Similar to partners in time, it has some issues with the bosses just not being fun, everything else was really well done though, if i ever play the original, it might replace the remakes spot.
2: Bowser’s inside story: Pretty good game all around but I can’t bring myself to like the inside sections, also a bit too easy
1: Dream team: I just think it pulls off every element better than the other games, despite it’s flaws, I still like it better than the rest

5. Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam. This is by far my least favorite, but I still like a lot of things about it. The battle system and bosses are amazing, and paper Mario is super fun to use in battle. Also this game has a good soundtrack and I did enjoy some of the areas. My problem is that it's WAY too generic. The enemies are all generic Mario enemies and it just feels like this game doesn't have a soul. Also I wasn't a fan of the Papercraft battles and toad missions.
4. Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. I know this game is at #4, but I still really like it. It has the best atmosphere of any M&L game and most areas are amazing. I like most of the bosses and I also really like the Shroobs as enemies. I didn't even mind the special attack system. My problem is that is feels too linear, some areas are literally just getting from point A to point B. But other then that, this game is a masterpiece and I can see why its your favorite.
3. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Overall this game is amazing. I like how this game is just simple Mario and Luigi with nothing else. This game has a lot of charm and has several areas and bosses so I always loved exploring it. The characters are excellent too. My biggest problem is that it is super easy but overall this is a really fun adventure with several funny moments.
2. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I go back and forth with this and Dream Team on which I like more. This game has the best music and enemies of any M&L game by far. Fawful is an amazing villain. Exploring Bowser as the bros is super fun and exploring the world as Bowser is even better. The battle system and special attacks are some of the best in the whole series too. This game is overall super creative and it feels like the stakes are super high. I love literally everything about this game.
1. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. This game is one of my favorite games ever. The areas are excellent and I love how they have their dream counter-parts. For example, Sommnom Woods just has an amazing atmosphere and I love how it's elements are used in it's dream world. The battle system is my favorite in the series. Battle in the dream world is so fun, the luiginary attacks are so unique and fun to pull off. Antasma is a super underrated villian and I love how he teams up with Bowser in the early-game. Everything about this game has a mystical and unique vibe that I just love. (And I didn't mind the tutorials and I actually liked the giant battles)

5. Bowser inside story- I don't hate this I do like this game its just not my favorite but has great qualities for a 2009 ds game
4. Paper Jam- I think this game is underrated it was a Mario & Luigi game I predicted should appeared I liked this game alot but it's not my number one favorite it has its flaws but it's great game
3. Superstar Saga- This game to me was major blast great time this game is funny and charming its the first game yes it might be basic however basic as it is its one of my favorites to play back
2. Partners in time- a game I remember I love the most it was a fantastic Mario and luigi that's feel really underrated but hey a great title with interesting and unique mechanics for a 2005 ds game

The original sss is definitely harder than the remake, which i feel fixes a lot of what you disliked. But, the remake fixes everything else that the original lacks in. You cant really get everything in one game, but both are pretty enjoyable in their own right
I totally agree with Superstar Saga being too easy. I was constantly overleveled (LVL 18 in woohoo university, LVL 30 in gwarhar lagoon, and LVL 44 for the final boss) and because of mushroom badge, I can basically kill any late game boss with just 1 chopper bros.
P.S. I play the original GBA version

I think those games were extremely close together in quality but hard mode is just something that makes it more replayable

You never need my permission to make a video like this, I personally encourage it! All these games are at least good for one reason or another so I really like seeing these lists
Fantastic video my man, to be honest I'm not entirely sure what my ranking is. I'm in the midst of playing through them all again and I really think my opinions might shift around.
But Paper jam will always be last for me, sorry, but story and world design are like, the two most important factors for me lol

as someone who grew up with partners in time, this is the best rating of the series ever.
Even though I’ve only played paper jam and dream team but have seen gameplay of partners in time I think paper jam is underrated. The adding paper Mario, trio attacks and the entire paper version made the game stand out towards the other but the only thing is that paper jam quests are sometimes too challenging

I think people don’t like paper jam because of how generic it looks from the bosses and the worlds. But dig deeper and it ends up being a very enjoyable experience gameplay wise

SS: mustard of doom
PIT: your science teacher forgot to throw away that mushroom they used for an experiment and it wacky really fast
BIS: a game created by the freaky side of the internet(seriously that intern at alpha dream needs some help).
DT: BEEF
Paper jam:..........................., it’s like Wyoming, it exists.
Those 2 minon mode editions in the 3ds remakes: we got an intern to find some fanfiction and we used that as the basis of our plot

Here's my list:
5)Paper Jam: it had sooo much potential,but sadly we got a game that felt like a normal 2d/3d Mario game just because they needed to follow the new Paper Mario directions,but it's still a great game nontheless and honestly I liked even the new Paper Mario titles(Origami King is one of my favorite games of all time)
4)Superstar Saga:Too short in my opinion,and a bit too easy aside from Ludwig who killed me 2 times,and that side mode is good,but not amazing
3)Partners in Time: the scenes with the Babies are just half of the fun of the entire package,the battles are cool,the story is one of the best the Mario series has told yet(as well as SPM)but there are just 2 problems:the music isn't relly that memorable and the end of the game it's just ridiculous: you defeated P.Shroob? *Plot twist* she has a sister! You defeated her Sister? *plot twist* she possessed Bowser! Wanna fight Shrowser? *plot twist* you can't attack! Stop it.
2)Dream Team: I can't tell how massive this game is, it could take a decade! The Dreamy World gameplay is like,a perfect evolution from BIS,the characters are so,so unique(I mean,we get to see even an LGBT character in a freaking MARIO game),Bowser is a freaking beast and as you play through the game you basically fall in love with Luigi! The attacks are cool and the artstyle and the music are just a pleasure for both my eyes and my ears: but,like Partners in Time,there are 2 great problems: Gyro controls and the tutorials
1)Bowser's Inside Story: Fawful is one of my favorite Mario villains along with Count Bleck,Dark Bowser has the best final boss theme in Mario history along with King Olly,Bowser in this game is a badass, and the gameplay is just....just perfect. As you hear him saying *SHOWTIME* you feel the power flowing through your soul,because this time YOU are the boss,and the giant battles are incredible.
So yeah,that was my list

My ranking:
5. Superstar Saga: I feel like this game is too easy. I like the battle system and the animations, the music is amazing, but the difficulty ruins it. The only bosses that stopped me were Ludwig and Cackletta's Soul. I think this game is very good, I just don't like how easy it is.
4. Partners in Time: I've never played this game, but it looks very fun. The bosses look nice, and the music is decent. Controlling 4 characters feels like it would be weird, but I think it would be fun.
3. Dream Team: Yeah, it's my third favorite. This game feels wayyyyy too long, the gyro controls are dumb, and the tutorials are so bad. But it has so many pros. The new style looks nice, the battle system and areas are really good, and oh my god, the music is such a bop. The bros attacks are really good too.
2. Paper Jam: Basically the whole world hates this game, but I actually like it. The paper toad quests are annoying, but I don't really mind them. Controlling Paper Mario is fun, and the battle system is sooo good. The trio moves are really fun and the bros and trios attacks are my third favorite, with Dream team being the second. The papercraft battles have weird controls, but I actually enjoy these battles. I like the areas too. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this game.
1. Bowser's Inside Story: Ok, so I'm a bit biased since this was my first Mario rpg. I love this game so much though. Controlling Bowser is so much fun, his moves both in the overworld and in battle are amazing. The plot is really good in my opinion, and the rivalry between Bowser and Midbus is nice too. Fawful is a great villain, although he seemed like he was in a comedy show. The giant battles were pretty good, while the concept of Fawful Express was really flawed, I actually liked the fight. As for Mario and Luigi, they are fun to use and the interaction with Starlow and Luigi is kind of funny, sort of like when Luigi told Starlow to fight with Mario before the Alpha Kretin boss fight. I do think Bowser overshadowed the bros, but I love this game anyways. The bros attacks are my favorite in the series, and the animations are good too. The music is my favorite from this series.

good question, he overshadows in gameplay because obviously he is new and exciting compared to Mario and Luigi which are actually more basic than in Superstar Saga which is a bad sign. Bowser is such a unique gameplay experience compared to Mario and Luigi which is more basic, and because of the basicness and quality of Bowser being so high, its annoying that your forced to play as Mario and Luigi at points.
Superstar Saga may seem basic, but it does have one thing the other Mario & Luigi games lack, a cameo of Geno from Super Mario RPG.

Well dang, all I want is to find someone like myself who’s favorite game in this series is Paper Jam, not even kidding. That game, was just phenomenal.

In my opinion the only game that "failed" to entertain is Paper jam, despite it having one of the best, if not the best combat system in the series. The reason behind my conclusion is that the whole story is just: "save paper toads and defeat the boss" over and over again. The whole paper mario x mario and luigi was a great idea on paper (no pun intended) but they failed to implement any kind of thrillingness to the story.
I have to agree to everything you said about dream team, the bgeinning is so BORING and the giant fights are kinda ass because of motion controls
5: Paper Jam. I agree with some of what you said, the abilities and many of the game mechanics were pretty good. But the lackluster story and generic enemies and areas especially are a HUGE problem for me. For the first time in the series we don't have a unique villain, just another Bowser. Now we just have two Bowsers kidnapping two Peaches. The areas in the game are really generic and unmemorable. This is just me personally, but I can't think of even one area I liked. If the game mechanics of Paper Jam were taken and put into an entirely different game world, I might like it. The game world just needs ANYTHING to make it stand out. Speaking of that, I'm surprised they didn't include a paper world mechanic of switching from the real world into a 2d paper one in certain sections, especially considering how much they loved the dual world mechanics in the previous two games. That would have been much better than the lackluster papercraft battles, anyway.
4: Superstar Saga. I can agree, this is a pretty basic game compared to the three after it, but it's still a solid experience. It has a bunch of stand-out moments for me, which is more than I can say for Paper Jam. I'll talk about both the original and the remake, I've only completed the original but from what I've seen of the remake, it improved on it a lot, and fixed some slightly irritating mechanics of the original. I don't have a lot of thoughts on this one. The sections of splitting up Mario and Luigi were cool, I guess. It's a good game, but far outdone by most of its successors.
3: Dream Team. I had a lot of fun with this game. The highlights: Dozing Sands (apparently this is an unpopular opinion, but I found it really memorable), Mount Pajamaja (has the best overworld design, possibly my favorite area in both overworld and dream world. also an unpopular opinion but I love the ice level), Neo Bowser's Castle (in the overworld, anyway. It had some great puzzles and exploration), pretty much all of the dream world exploration, most of the bosses... The negatives: The giant battles (controls awful, and are unforgiving. Not challenging, just... unforgiving. Especially Giant Bowser. If you mess up there's practically no room for recovery and it's a slog to do over), The Dream Egg hunt (Just, really not fun. It feels pointless and padded out, and I hate those NPCs), and the whole beginning is *so slow.....* The game doesn't really get good until around the 4th area. But it does get really good at times.
2. Partners in Time. This might be persuaded by nostalgia for me as well, but I can't complain about it too much at all. It is very linear, for one thing, but that doesn't harm my enjoyment of all the areas. Every single area of the game is fun to traverse, except Hollijolli Village and Baby Bowser's Castle, but those are just short tutorial areas. These two areas are entirely dedicated to tutorials, but aren't even that long, relatively. All of the abilities feel nice to use, and are used well in the exploration. It has its share of unmemorable bosses, but none I think are outright bad (except Shrowser, let's just ignore him and pretend Elder Princess was the final boss. Shrowser is my only big complaint), and some of the bosses are actually very good and unique, like the ones you mentioned.
1. Bowser's Inside Story. Controlling Bowser is so fun, in battle and just moving around with him with the fast abilities. I don't agree about the Bros falling by the wayside, I enjoy playing with them too. I don't hate any bosses (there are ones I don't exactly like, which includes most of the giant battles, but....) but there are some really great ones. The game has a few garbage areas but overall this is the game I have the most fun exploring in. It's filled with secrets for the Bros and Bowser each to find. It also has some additions over PiT that give it a bit of an edge up personally, like the badge system and the Challenge Node. I don't know where these would have fit, but if PiT had challenge modes or any reasons to return to old areas, it might be placed at #1 for me. If only it was remade, then maybe it could have... Speaking of that, the BiS remake was completely unnecessary, it did not improve anything from the base game like SSDX did. I still wish AlphaDream would have remade PiT.....

Paper Jam I actually really enjoyed, and I only would put it lower than DT and BiS because I like the other 2 more. Apart from toad missions and nabbit instead of attack pieces, I really enjoyed the whole trio thing, especially when Paper Mario was used as an aeroplane, or a boomerang, etc... they stick out so well!

4 - Paper Jam - I do really enjoy it, but there's REALLY some stuff that drags it down, like the Papercraft battles and all the toad missions
3 - Superstar Saga - The most recent one I played, and I think doing that exemplified how much the later ones evolved from its structure
2 - Dream Team - I love the gimmick of the dream world, and nearly everything unique it tries absolutely works
1 - Bowser's Inside Story - The first I played and still the best one. Gameplay, atmosphere, story, humor, soundtrack, it's all wonderful. It's in my top 10 games of all time for a reason

My list is, from the ones I’ve played (I haven’t played Paper Jam yet)
#4: Partners in Time - This game to me has the weakest gimmick. The prime positive here is the story and the lore within, whereas the prime negative is the whole babies gimmick.
#3: Dream Team - This is my most nostalgic in the series, but even I have flaws with it. First of all, this game is WAY more difficult than its predecessors, coming off as an alarming change. Second of all, the finale to me is the weakest in the series, having some of the most alarming difficulty spikes in the series (at least to me). So, overall, great game with PHENOMENAL music, but difficulty issues are aplenty.
#2: Superstar Saga - Man, this game has so much Nintendo charm, just… so much charm that you could only find in a Nintendo game. Overall, no sugarcoating it. Perfect start to my favorite Mario subseries.
#1: Bowser’s Inside Story - Take EVERYTHING I just said about Superstar Saga, and make it 4 times better. Its fast pace is an absolute joy. The charm within is absurd. Fawful is my absolute favorite Mario villain. This game has it all…

Superstar saga GBA is actually even easier, if you get the Mush badges and buy tons of mushrooms, you can do 1000+ damage in a single attack and beat cacklettas soul in 2 turns

2: Bowser's Inside Story, Bowser was by far the best part of the game, the game was really funny, Fawful being the main villain was awesome, characters were great, most of the bros attacks are just meh, giant battles are meh
1: Dream Team, boss battles were some of the biggest highlights of the game, the story was fantastic, characters like Antasma and Dreambert were great, all giant battles besides Zeekeeper and the end phase of Giga Bowser were really fun and looked really good for 3DS graphics, the dream world was a great expansion of Bowser's Inside Story and I just didn't want the game to end, so it being the longest M&L game was very appreciated

Partners In Time is still a very important game to me. It’s probably my second favourite RPG just short of Kingdom Hearts 2. It’s just an almost perfect game to play. The battle system is a riot and honestly my favourite rendition of the combat. The bosses for the most part are a ton of fun and it’s areas are pretty creative. They’re all fun to explore and a joy to finish. Dream Team is my second favourite. I have not played it on hard mode but I would love to. The areas are just as fun to play in this game aside from the beginning. I will disagree with what you said about the giant battles. I loved those. Same can be said with the regular bosses but I must say I adored the buildup and execution of the giant battles. The reason I love Partners in Time more is because it does a lot more for me in terms of fulfilment. I love it to pieces and when I play it, I have a really difficult time putting down the controller, or console. I love the final fight so much. It’s probably one of my favourite bosses period. The music in these games is just near perfect. I still refuse to believe Yoko Shimomura can make bad music.

I love your videos man, but paper jam over superstar saga is absolutely crazy. I believe you said in another video that you haven’t played the original game yet, just the remake. I highly recommend you to play the original. Superstar saga was the last game I played from all mario and Luigi games and I absolutely fell in love with it ( I haven’t played the remake). Yes it dies get kinda monotone at times, but still the game is so humerous and charming. The music is phenomenal, using the bros attacks is satisfying. I simply love this game

I think if you had played the original superstar saga when it first came out, you would like it a lot more. Maybe not number 1 but still. I disagree with most of the list but that’s ok, everyone has different opinions. However I do like that you have PIT as number one, that’s a great game and my second favorite
I finally had time to watch this video and I agree A LOT with you, not completely but a lot. Btw this is my ranking (I only played the remakes of BiS and SS btw):
5 Paper Jam (When I was little I loved it and I didn't understand the big flaws that this game have. 1 The areas are very generic compared to every Mario and Luigi game. 2 The enemies and their attacks are too basic, so it's not that fun to fight them. These are the biggest problem that I have with Paper Jam and its positives aren't that great compared to the flaws. 1 The cards are so much fun to use during both bosses fights and enemies fights and they make the battles much more sliding. 2 The Papercraft battles are good in my opinion, not as good as Dream Team giant battles (of course) but I still like them. 3 The bosses in this game are the second best in the series. Their attacks are very fun to dodge and some of them are difficult. As I said before I loved this game when I was little and it was my second favourite game in the series, but now that I replayed all the Mario and Luigi games I totally changed my mind)
4 Bowser Inside Story (I bet that you didn't expect that and that's reasonable, this is considered the best Mario and Luigi series but for me it's very overrated. Let's start with the negatives: 1 The bosses are easly the worst in the series due to the first half of the game that has really bad bosses. 2 The giant battles are a mistake, they are so bad and boring compared to Dream Team ones and Papercraft battle. I think that the only good fights are the first and the last while the tower and the train are so boring. 3 The areas are generic in this game too, I just think that they are slightelly batter than Paper Jam but compared to Dream Team, Partners in Time and Superstar Saga...they just don't stand any chances. 4 The 2D part in the first half of the game are very bad due to the enemies which are banal and the bosses that have literally one single attack. These are the negatives, as you have seen the main problems are relative to the first half of the game which is even worse than the entire game of Paper Jam, but the second half of the game really saves it and if it was this good from the start, maybe I would have put it in the third position. Now let's start with the positives: 1 The brothers attack are my third favourites in the series, they are very fun to use. 2 As I said before, the second half literally saved the entire game thanks to the bosses and the enemies that have improved a lot. 3 This is probably the best positive of this game, and I'm talking about Bowser. Playing with Bowser is fun from the start and it gets even better in the second half of the game. 4 The minigames are very fun, there are a lot of them and they very different)
3 Superstar Saga (In the top three there are the amazing games that have only small problems. Superstar Saga is the first Mario and Luigi and compared to the other ones I found it very basic but not as much as Paper Jam. This isn't a big problem because the enemies are very good and the attack are very fun to dodge but compared to Dream Team and Partners in Time they are a little bit worse. This is litteraly the only problem that I have with SS, now let's start with the positives: 1 I normaly don't care about the abilities in Mario and Luigi games but Superstar Saga ones are just unforgettable. This game has the largest amount of abilities in the entire series and they are really fun to use, I also like every single puzzle were you have to use them. 2 The brothers attack are my second favourite in the series, they may be basic objectively but idk I just found them very fun and original. 3 The bosses are my third favourites in the series, the longevity of the battles are just perfect and the attacks are very fun to dodge. I also love the fact that this is probabily the game with the largest amount of boss fight, and I love all of them)
2 Dream Team (and now that's where I agree with you, number 2 is the perfect spot fo Dream Team, and of course number 1 is perfect for Partners in Time, but now let's focus on Dream Team. I think that the negatives of Dream Team are much worse than SS. 1 The boss battles are so short compared to every single Mario and Luigi, the bosses go down litteraly in three turns, of course not every single boss, but the majority yes. I think that the attacks are very fun to dodge but the fact that the battles are too short is much more decisive. 2 The brothers attack are the worst in the series, they do too much damage so the boss fight are very short and most of them need the gyroscope that is very annoying. The only attack that I think it's fun is the zee egg, every other one is just bad. I think that I finished with the negatives, but I'm not sure if I want to put the ultibed quest. I just think it's decent but easly the worst part in the game. Now let's go with the positives. 1 The giant battles are so much better than Bowser Inside Story ones, every single one is memorable and is so much fun. 2 In BiS i said that most of the 2D part were very bad, but with Dream Team is totally the opposite. I think that every single 2D part is great thanks to the enemies, the music and the puzzles. Every single aspect of the dream world is 100 times better than BiS stomach. 3 The areas my second favourite in the series, most of them are original and memorable. 4 The enemies are the second best in the series thanks to the fact that they have a lot of attack compared to BiS enemies which have max two attacks and that's just ridiculous. 5 The music in this game is just amazing, I personaly prefer PiT osts a little more but Dream Team ones are so good)

Btw I don't call overrated every game that I like less then the majority of people. Exemple: I played the first three Paper Mario games and I think that the worst one is TTYD but I don't call it overrated because I understand the reasons why people think it's the best one but with Bowser's Inside Story I just don't understand, since I think that every single aspect of the game is much worse compared to every Mario and Luigi games (excluding Paper Jam)

Sorry to burst your bubble but if your saying mario and luigi are basic then you are also saying that for all the other games because they play the exact same in each game. Press button for jumo and hammer. Time dodging and use special attacks. Also its called mario and luigi first in the title so in bowsers inside story the bros should get just as much attention as bowser.

1.) Dream Team (Bros.) - My first Mario and Luigi game. The tutorials were everything I needed to beat the game, but I see why most find them tedious. The ultibed was one of my favourite parts, and Mount Pajamaja was the most memorable section of any game. The Pi'illos were very fun to find, and the Dream World has to be my favourite concept ever. The way they dreaminise the music for the Dream World is also cool. It also utilises characters from the previous games. Starlow from BIS, Kylie Koopa from PiT and Popple from SS. I could write a lot more, but I've made that mistake before.
2.) Bowser's Inside Story - My last Mario and Luigi game. Everything that I could criticise about Dream Team, this game has. Perfect storyline and amazing final section. What puts this below Dream Team (Bros.) is the fact that it is not anywhere near as long. There are other factors, like there being no Expert challenges, and the fact that Mario and Luigi share attacks unlike having unique ones for themselves.
3.), 4.) and 5.) Paper Jam, Partners in Time and Superstar Saga - It's impossible for me to decide which one is the better of the 3, and which is the worst.
Paper Jam had everything except a story. The papercraft battles were a fun thing and memorable for the most part, but King Boo was not memorable by any means. The paper toad missions were fun, but some were tedious. It had amazing music, like all the rest of the games.
Partners in Time had a great story. Time travelling was executed very well. The battling system was fun, and switching between the bros. and the babies (when they were separated) was very simple, which is good. The final boss actually punishes you for being under-levelled, and my punishment was 30 minutes of dodging and using up my entire collection of bros. attacks. The one problem I have with the story is that, when baby Mario and baby Luigi grew up and then had to go back to the past and help their baby selves, surely they would've known to not collect the shards.
Superstar Saga did a great job of starting the series. It has the most amount of bosses in the series, just like Dream Team (27). The bros. attacks were simple, yet fun. Bowser's role in the game was amazing. Cackletta and Fawful were great original antagonists. The enemies had very nice concepts, like the viruses, which would die if they were the same colour.

this is my ranking of mario and luigi games, in the end I like them all and these are my opinions:
# 5 dream team: It's a little controversial but let me explain,
From the aristic and musical points I think it's the best, the bosses are fun and the "titan" bosses are better than bowser inside story, normal enemies and ideas are very creative but this m & l game is last because it's SLOW, there are many tutorials, side missions and puzzles that I wanted to finish immediately;
# 4 paper jump bros, this game is quite the opposite of dream team, the ideas and enemies were mediocre, the areas weren't too good and the bosses are ok but the pace of the game is good, there are not many tutorials and it made me keep more "entertained" than dream team;
# 3 super star saga, the most average game of the series, does not have that something that makes it different from the others (even bc was the first game) but the battles are beautiful, the attacks are fun to do both because they are fast and because they don't use objects to do it, it's just mario and luigi who make them which in my opinion makes them interesting and the story is very good because it's not that I have to go from a point A and B to find an object of the story repeatedly (ex. cobalt star of parter time).
# 2 partner time, the ideas are good and the difficulty is right, the bosses are interesting and the areas are rememberable, a visa I don't like is that the brother attacks are on object and are op.
# 1 bowser inside story, probably in general the best and apart from a few things, I don't think it has anything too negative.

It’s nice to see everyone’s views on the games personally Mario and Luigi superstar saga is my favorite I do recommend if you ever get a chance to play Mario RPG and paper Mario 64

are we talking about the original NA release of PiT or the international release that rebalanced everything and fixed the bosses to not be annoying damage sponges with insane 3k+ HP pools? I can maybe see an argument for the latter, but the original release of the game has to many bosses that just totally overstay their welcome
also, the fact that you never run out of Bros. Items _is_ the problem with Bros. Items, you never had to worry about managing your supply of Bros. Items in the same way you would have to do with BP in other games.
NA and I still think the game is easy

Regarding superstar saga, if not already mentioned, play the original. Whether on the actual gameboy or an emulator but play to og. It's better than the remake
My phone got crashed 3 days ago and I beat dream team and fought the secret boss I say 9-10 might do hard mode.

I have beaten the bowser and antasma fight Im sorry it took so long so this was a experience 😅. Ok let's talk about the bosses there hard and can kill you in 3 hit if you put hp in your level bonus. So it was hard didn't game over yet but mario died 3 times in one enemy encounter. I'll try to continue if I have time also comment if you have a question about my run ask away.
