This series is really fantastic. There's really nowhere else to get coverage of tournaments like this.
Thank you so much for this Mr. Redmond. It is deeply appreciated, both the background and the game explanation.
Great commentary! As a beginner it's really valuable for me to see what a pro reads in certain constellations. Also: what a sick capture race, black made white look like a rookie.
Great review, thank you Michael. Subscribed.
Thanks for making these
Michael now has a halo, soon will be transformed into sai.
Another quality pro review! Thanks
Congratulations to Ichiriki! Nice commentrary as always.
Now I actually know how to pronounce these players names!
Thank you for a great explanation. Didn't know the backstory of the Japanese player. Also interesting.
Spectacular game! And so well explained, thank you!
Wow what a finish! Thanks a lot for your insight :)
Nice to see a Japanese player do well in an international tournament! Does international success count towards Japanese rank promotion? Seems like a pretty remarkable performance by Ichiriki Ryo.
Winning an international title earns an automatic promotion to 9 dan, and being the runner-up earns an automatic promotion to 8 dan. Most professional Go associations have this rule, I believe.
@@ConsciousBreaks Thanks for the info!
Currently ichiriki Ryo ranked 17 with 3546 elo. Strongest japanese player for now
exciting finish
dramatic game!
This guy's an anime character
Great Vid!!! @Michael Redmond's Go TV Where do you watch live go games and how do you upload SGF's to the OGS demo board? How do you find the classic problems in OGS and what books do you recommend for a 5kyu player?
Various Go servers broadcast pro games, I watch Yugen no Ma, the name for cyberoro in Japan. On OGS, there is an sgf library where you can upload sgf files. Look at their puzzles section for all sorts of Go problems
@@MichaelRedmondsGoTV Last time you said there were classic problem sets on OGS but how do I find them? What books do you recommend for a 5kyu player?
Where do u watch live broadcast
You can try Sino.com but you need to understand Chinese?
What a massacre!
