Sometimes I can't believe the number of young people, from all countries and all races and religions, who continue to perform Beatles songs, with such devotion, respect and musical quality. I am proud to belong; to the generation that lived through that time. About to turn 73 years old and delighting me with his music on January 6, 2024.
The Beatles were literally young lads when they wrote these masterpieces. 50+ yrs later and we are still awed. No one will ever replicate their talent, their harmonies, their orchestrations, their lyrics, their genius. I keep hearing that this group or that singer is the next big thing... nothing. The older I get the more I realize how lucky I was the whole time. I kept looking when they were always there where I had left them. It will always remain Beatles forever.
Agree totally, even though I am now 72 it still puts tears in my eyes. I think our generation was blessed somehow for having such great music to listen to growing up.
You are absolutely correct. I was born in 1948 and the Beatles and modern music and fashion totally changed my life when I went to Exeter University in 1967
1967 - to think the Beatles were just young lads when they wrote this and much more, all of masterpiece standard. Now played all over the world by top class Orchestras.
@@coleparker George Martin was a very humble man and I suspect he would disagree with me. That said, the orchestrations for this song brings the song to a whole other level. Even the last chord of the song is iconic and used as Beatles advertising. Who would think to use 9 grand pianos played by 12 players just for an ending chord?
@@Versul1 I don't disagree that he was very influential, John, Paul and George mention that in every interview. But don't forget, it those three that were the CREATORS OF THE SONGS, THE INSPIRATION. Too many people have in their comments make it sound like, The Beatles were studio musicians for George Martin to employ for his music.
Oh how fortunate we are that EMI assigned their classical music guy George Martin to the Beatles and that he took that responsibility seriously! RIP Sir George!

It took the Beatles w/ their 5th member, Sir George Martin, 5 months to complete St. Pepper and it's no surprise as to why with the production involved in this timeless masterpiece and the others on that album. Just the variety of instrumentation throughout and the arrangements involved...not to mention, they WROTE the songs, which is a monumental task in itself.
What a brilliant arrangement & production. I well remember laying on the floor in our living room teaching myself all the words to this song. 50 + years later & it’s still a stunning piece. And I still remember all the words. ❤
Don't understand why some people try to compare Lennon and McCartney . Those people were born to create marvelous songs together for a particular time. Neither of them is worse or better. And of course Starr and Harrison were important part of the band
It´s an amazing song shared in two levels with an spectacular tune. More an excellent performance by these ''lovely vikings' that executed a big show! My best regards from Florianópolis - SC - Brazil.

Stunning, but one has to wonder about how the singers thought about the lyrics, '4000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire.... now they know how many holes it takes the fill the Albert hall'. Even with English as first language this has to be pretty challenging!

That and his years of doing comedy albums gave him an ear for sound fx. It also made him appreciative of the Beatles sense of humor.
