Hoyer made it clear this team would need to overperform this season to reach the postseason with some of his comments early on. An it's looking like 2025 will be another year of "well if Seiya has a .900+ OPS and hits 30 HRs, if Imanaga, Steele and Taillon to repeat or improve, if PCA can manage close to an .800 OPS all year etc etc". Relying on the best outcome for every single player on the roster in order to win 85+ games is an absolutely terrible strategy. While sure it may be a valid point that you need indeed need players to outperform projections to have good years my point is that it seems he is heavily relying on good but not great players to basically have career years in order to compete. If they simply added 1 or 2 great or elite players then it would be much easier to compete because even in a down year an elite player will still have the same or better year than someone like Ian Happ has in a career year.
Lots of weather excuses. So why doesn’t somebody say, OK when the wind is blowing in 75 miles an hour why is there not more small ball being played bunting running things like that instead of trying to hit a three run homer into the teeth of the wind. Other teams were doing this and that’s why they won more games than you did. Could you speak to that Jed? How are you blaming the weather for the poor offense yet bragging about pitchers ERA? You can’t have it both ways. The reporters chickened out on a lot of questions
Y'all sound like you're stuck in baseball limbo trying to figure out how you actually feel about the team. Take a breath, and look inside yourselves to see how you really feel 🤣🤣. haha, but seriously...y'all want the team to do more but the team is good, so confusion abounds. Several players underperformed this year. Jes is so calm because he knows this and a few tweaks here and there will get the job done. One top of the line starter is all I really expect them to do this off-season. They'll have the money to pursue that superstar bat y'all are begging for, but I don't see it happening. Jed will be better off giving that money to PCA and others.
Rickets needs to sell the CUBS to a real owner, they suck, hoyer sucks, this team organization is back to the days of old, pitiful, well we got another 100 yrs to go👎👎

Not one question about them barely going over the tax threshold.
Tom ain't the owner Cohen or Rubenstein will be. This team deserved better but, we got a loser owner who doesn't want to spend like the big boys.
Outperforming projections isn’t a plan!!! Have projections that say you’re gonna make the damn playoffs!! It’s not that hard!!
Excuses... Excuses... Excuses. Third same presser three years in a row.
FIRE HIM! OR SELL RICKETTS!
