It is so easy to say “trust God” and when the bible says to “give thanks in all things” and “God is good” until your day comes. I can tell you it is not easy it is one of the hardest things a person will ever have to do. But God is good and he is good all the time. And we must give thanks, for the Lord gives and he takes away. But by no means is it easy and you never forget but he gives you the strength to get by.

A family at my church was returning from a Lois Palau event when a single mother high on drugs/alcohol ran a stop sign. Bot of their teenage daughters were killed. The husband/wife spent months in the hospital. They eventually met the woman who served 8 years in prison to offer their forgiveness. She got saved and started a prison recovery ministry.

I love that Davey touches on peace that passes all our understanding in sharing the story of the darkest time of his life. In 2019 when my Christian Mother was laying in a hospital bed for endless weeks after a second stroke, unable to move or speak, and I could not even bear that she was enduring such an agony , when God spoke these words to me. "I am a shield against the blast." I wrote about this experience at that time, and I cant trust my memory of what exactly I wrote, but assuredly God was a shield for Amanda, she surely wasn't alone when she faced the gunmen, no more than Stephen was alone when he was being stoned. I`m sharing this on my personal FB page/ Sing me a Song of Praise and Glory, because it reminded me again of our God who is our shield at all times, even in these, the darkest of times for so many. Bless you Davey.

Thank you for sharing your story. My mom is in rehabilitation after several strokes, one being a full left side one. The drs didn’t believe me when I said she told me she loved me. I told them I understand their science and will do what’s right but I’m praying because God has the final say. The next day they called me shocked she was speaking and understood what they were saying. She is left handed so that helped her. She’s still unable to walk and has pressure ulcer that she needs prayers for and I’m still praying for full healing but if not it’s just a little more time to love her and say all the things I needed to say so she knows she’s loved. She occasionally talks but that comes and goes too.

What is really difficult in the situation that Pastor Davey Blackburn didn't mention is that when something like this happens to you and you're the one to find the situation, especially being the spouse, you are the main suspect in causing it by law enforcement. You're guilt in the eyes of many until you've been cleared, until that time you feel isolated and fear. Then, you can move forward. Without God, the father, Jesus, the Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God's word. You likely won't come out on the other side restored. Praise God for his restoration.

I do get what you’re saying. Forgiveness shouldn’t mean that a murderer is set free, because forgiving that person isn’t necessarily going to make them change, you would be irresponsible of letting that murderer back out on the streets and causing or committing harm to someone else. Forgive yes but forgiveness isn’t a license to set a murderer free, there still has to be consequences, that’s not revenge, that’s part of living in a civilized society, you can’t have love without justice or justice without love. God isn’t only a God of forgiveness and love but also a God of order, which means there has to civilized rules to follow and accountability for they’re not followed.

I remember well the murder of the Amish school girls and the immediate forgiveness of the perpetrator by the entire community, beginning with the girls' families. As much as I admired them, I could not relate to their almost "eagerness" to forgive, as I saw it, anyway. I had no such ability in my heart. Now, I understand, at least much more than I did back then. As this young pastor stated, forgiveness is a choice. It really is. The feelings may come later, but the hate does not manifest when forgiveness is a chosen action. It is the same with love. I have come to understand that this is why love in the Bible is an entirely different concept than the world's view of love. Biblical love and the world's view of what constitutes love share little, if anything at all, in common. I pray to have the faith, and the love, and the forgiveness no matter how I may feel I've been wronged, of this pastor for the men who destroyed his family. I have no doubt that the pain he has suffered is incomparable to the joy he will experience in eternity. As for me, God is working on me ❤

Without Jesus you will never be able to forgive. But Jesus gives us the strength. I am sorry for your loss and your young child. God is love. Thank you for talking about this and your faith.

Something about this story seems odd. Just a funny feeling. He also doesn't talk a lot about the unborn baby. God knows what really happened.

Yeah idk if its true but there are Reddit threads about him saying he took out life insurance on her shortly before she died but not on himself and its sus. Like you said only God knows what really happened

He left the door unlocked even though crime had happened in his neighborhood. Left the door unlocked with his sleeping pregnant wife and baby son upstairs. Talked on the phone peeking through the window- but didn’t see Amanda? Dresses up his glee as Christian forgiveness. Moved on to wife #2 quickly. I grew up with these fake Christian types. It’s like we suspend all logic in our desire to believe God blesses all of this. My Christian mom lost my dad when o was little. He died in an accident. She never was bitter or blamed God but SHE STILL GRIEVED. Davey is abnormal and not in a godly way but in a sociopathic way.

I don’t know him but my discernment started to ring when he barely talked about finding his wife on the floor and proceeded to talk about the church and their dreams ? Uh what ?

Why Davey, would you and your new wife and the son of your murdered wife, dress up as robbers when your wife was apparently murdered by robbers? Just what the heck is wrong with you?

Sorry...I think he may be somehow complicit in his wife's demise... or at the very least very uncaring.
