    Watching BHSS analysis of the updated SA-35’s currently in production, they addressed the issue of the sharp slide serrations digging into extractor which caused burrs to form on the extractor; resulting in FTE’s. I still want one.

    • @midgepfeffer711
      @midgepfeffer711 2 месяца назад

      Good afternoon. I sent my SA-35 to BHSS 19 months ago and spent well over $2,000. My gun still does not run and as of today it is being sent to MK3 in Vegas. BHSS is a SCAM! Gun won't extract, light primer strikes, fail to feed and on and on, and it is all MY FAULT...well actually it's my husbands fault as he is just incompetent. My husband is a 30 year retire US Marine. Scout/Sniper, scout/sniper instructor, drill instructor, and a retired E-9. Stay away from BHSS as it has been a nightmare with them. The BHSS trigger is HORRIBLE, they replaced the slide stop 5 times, the guide was changed repeatedly and the BS is so deep I can walk on it. Enjoy our day.

    I'm actually quite happy with the stock trigger on my SA35 and certainly wouldn't think of spending an extra nickel to make it any better. Same with the mags, quite happy with 15 rounds. Hundreds of rounds through this gun, without one malfunction using all different kinds of ammo, including different types of reloads. It's a sweet shooter.

    I had the sa-35 on military discount order when they first came out. While waiting I came across a fn 2023 version high power. Added g10 grips and a front night sight to it. It has been flawless thru over 1000 rounds, it is the only fn and the only hi power that I own.

    • @KeanonGilliamSlang369
      @KeanonGilliamSlang369 8 месяцев назад

      I have the new Hi Power as well with G-10 grips. What front sight did you get?

    • @willwilliam217
      @willwilliam217 8 месяцев назад

      Keanon, love your channel, 509 night sight kit was supposed to fit. The front sight fit no problem. The rear sight in the fn 509 kit had no way of fitting because of the angle of the sight cut. I installed the original rear sight back on the high power. Ik with that, night sight front, blacked out rear. I would calm fn, may they can lead you in the direction of the right parts. At the range now with the high power.

    HOLSTERS: Muddy River Tactical, Craft Holsters. I have an SA-35 in name only. The only SA parts left on the gun are the slide and frame. I had the same issues with extraction until the extractor was changed out, tuned and radiused. The sights were cahnged to XS R3D's and what a difference. The gun was sent to BHSS for a new two tone paint job and it is drop dead beautiful. BHSS wood grips also add to the guns appearance. The gun is now deadly accurate, very little recoil and wonderful control of the gun. You probably don't remeber me but I am the guy whose dad lived just down the road from at the beach. With just a little work the SA-35 can be turned into a fantastic shooter....much better than anything Glock has produced or will ever produce. Enjoy yor day.

    Put the factory base plates back on your mags and see if that cures your feeding issues. Any mag extensions over +2 should have longer/extra power springs. I have an SA-35 and it works fine with factory and Mec-Gar mags.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 месяцев назад

      Once you install the Apex magwell, you can no longer use the factory magazines or baseplates. The magazines are top notch (actually made by Meg Gar). I just need to inspect that one to see if there is a correlation.

    Really enjoy my sa35 my only complaint is the thumb safety comes off safe too easy. Wish it was a bit more positive. Got it to carry in the winter won't carry it because of safety. I'm planning to see if someone can help with that issue maybe a bigger detent or stronger spring will do it..I'm not interested in workin on it myself

    On a side note I still and always will have that Massod Ayoob Spyderco you gave me. I only carry it on very special occasions or major holidays. I wipe it down before putting it back in its box on the top shelf of my safe

    I have had a few HP and HP clones that also left the last piece of brass just sitting in the ejection port.
    It seems to be a common issue but nothing to worry about as it would drop out when the magazine is taken out for a reload.

    I have heard of people having a "dead trigger" issue with Apex trigger kits. Perhaps the parts just need to wear in/mate with each other with a 200-500 round "break in" period?? I believe most of the Apex Trigger issues were with Glocks. I could be wrong. It's been a while since i kept up with the topic/issues.

      I agree completely. What I meant in context at the range was that it wasn't a problem that persisted or took the gun out of the fight. I was certainly a failure - as I indicated - but I use the word anomaly for one-time/unexplained failures. One would be a complete fool to modify a handgun with non-OEM parts (that they hand-fitted) and then put it to use for duty or protection. I'd need to see at least 1000 flawless rounds pass through it before I'd even remotely consider such an idea.

    All due respect, you keep calling your malfunctions “anomalies.” I beg your pardon, but in your older videos on the gun, I don’t remember seeing the malfunctions with the OEM parts. Now you’ve installed Apex “IMPOSTER PARTS” and I saw 3-4 malfunctions in this video alone. Just call it like it is. Also, the “dead trigger” was NOT due to a “magazine issue.” I’m suspecting the aftermarket sear and/or trigger perhaps that had something to do with it and without looking at the gun personally.
    I have two SA-35’s with consecutive serial numbers and neither one of them have had failures. Im nearing the 3,000 round count with one of the models. Serial number range is HP18xxx.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel

I'd need to see at least 1000 flawless rounds pass through it before I'd even remotely consider such an idea. It would have been very easy to avoid showing any problems in this video, but that is not my style or objective. There are people who would never modify a gun with aftermarket parts, and there are those who can't modify them quick enough. But again, one dead trigger instance out of hundreds of rounds in a day is an anomaly. I'm not expert enough to diagnose it based on that, so I don't attempt to.

      also: probably hard to have noticed, but I wonder if you felt the "wall" if indeed your trigger did travel fully to the rear position on the FTF?
      (just curious as I've done that with a single stage Timney and on vid, it looked as though after the previous round, there was no reset stagger/click either from me short stroking it or an from my return set screw (return side) in the trigger hitting the forward trigger guard. (I don't think you have that adjustment on yours but I backed it off a 1/4 turn and never again was the result).
