When you think about it, Jiren was caught off guarded. It wasn't a fighting style; Goku and Frieza were hurling themselves at him wildly. You can see the surprise on his face. He couldn't really defend against that. It was kinda funny.
well they don't know how to work together but they both know each other's fighting style's so as long as you know what form of attack the other guy can attack at will without disrupting the balance of their attacks......... So it's Synergy
I've always felt the same. That moment when he gets clobbered by both Goku and Frieza, and his pained expression shifts into a massive grin. It may just be my interpretation, but I always saw that as sort of the breaking point where Jiren was no longer fighting just to win, but for the satisfaction of winning.
You can tell how serious the situation is when Frieza calls Goku "Saiyan" instead of "Monkey." In all seriousness though, I think this scene was the only moment in my entire life where a television program had me literally on the edge of my seat.

2 things I didn’t like about the dub 1. Why use the dub version of that song, when they did this the first time it got so much hate that after you heard it again they used the instrumentals instead. Why didn’t they just stick with that? 2. When Frieza threw Goku at Jiren why did the dub have Goku say “alley oop” he didn’t say anything in the sub. What was the point? It just came off goofy in a fight that had so much at stake.
Well alley oop is something Goku sometimes says when he throws something in English dub so of course something small would be involved in a big moment such as this. Besides if he never said that in English the moment would feel weird as he said nothing when throwing fireza
People sometimes say things to hype themselves up. And with how little energy he had left, I think that reasoning fits here. Not to mention it provides Frieza with a verbal signal to better synchronize their actions.

And then the English singer kicks in and wipes that smile straight off your face. This completely ruined the English dub to the point that I only watch Japanese dub now. The singing is so overwhelming levels of cringe compared to the Japanese singer.
Even though I enjoyed the ToP, this honestly doesn't make sense. Didn't Jiren regain his energy and confidence to be almost at full power again, or half, at the very least? Goku is in base form (not having enough power to keep the SSJ form active) battered and beaten, Frieza is also in "base" form, battered and beaten. How the hell did they beat Jiren?
Okay but seriously I think Jiren didn't regain all of his energy he just had enough leftover, around SSJ1 level. Which is why base frieza is enough since he is around ssj1 level and goku is tapping on and off ssj1. Android 17 also is pretty strong around SSJ Blue level but he is fatigued so that drops him to SSJ1 level
He didn't really regain any energy. They were all fighting off of sheer adrenaline and will power. Everyone was on their last reserves of power so they used everything at the end. It took Goku, Frieza AND #17 to actually get Jiren down which is still super impressive by Jiren. Just means he's tanky
@@Tayce_t androids don't get fatigued *edit for the thread thats probably why they won. 17 and 18 were never turned back into (mostly) regular humans. 17 was damaged, sure, but he still had just as much energy as he did when the tournament started.
Goku giving everything he has, snapping in and out of SSJ out of exhaustion in this one final push is probably my favourite moment in all of DB.
Whoever had the idea to do that and animated it like that understood the assignment that everyone was running on fumes at that point.
To me this was the moment DBZ broke the internet. UI was indeed amazing and everything but nobody expected this team-up to actualy happen.
