Looks like i better dust off my 2100 attach my Garbage tin lid and away i go , you have restored my faith in using an old classic ( i love them) was embarrased to go out in the field and coming across everyone else with 6000's & 7000's and them saying "if you are going to find any gold you need one of these, all the surface gold is gone and they run deep now"Great post Woody .......thoough i do need my 2100 checked over to see that it is stll operating as it should😢
Mum and Dad had an original edition of Brough Smythes Mineral Districts of Victoria. Also Withers Book Of Ballarat History. Worth a read if you can get a copy.

Concentric coils can be highly beneficial on very hot ground, also can allow more gain to be used.
