아프고도 소중한 노래.. 비스트라는 이름으로 낸 마지막 타이틀곡.. 멤버탈퇴 직후, 계약만료 등등.. 혼란스럽고 불안정한 시기 속에서도 팬들을 믿어주었기에 마지막 뷰쇼 이후로 팬과 가수 사이가 더 끈끈해진 시기... 끝인 줄 알았지만 사실 엄청나고도 새로운 시작을 앞두던 시기. 아프면서도 행복했던 그때였기에 더욱 소중하다. 사실 이 노래만 들으면 마음 한쪽이 쓰라려서 일부러 잘 안찾아듣는데.. 오랜만에 그때의 뜨겁고도 아프던 여름이 생각나서 들어와봤다..ㅎㅎ 2016년의 리본은 정말 소중함이라는 말 그 자체인 것 같다.

It's been almost 3 months since Hyunseung's departure. I think that's plenty of time for people to talk about it and accept the truth. Talking about him now and on this MV specifically just takes away from the song itself, and we should be focusing on the song and the MV. Just my opinion.

I just wanna let you know that Beast has changed their name to "Highlight" in order to show their songs and performances without making any conflicts with CUBE ent. who has a copyright over the name "Beast". So (former) Beast's contract with CUBE ended in October last year. An year or so before their contract ended, CUBE registered "BEAST (and all the related names-beast, b2st, 비스트 and so on- )" as their intellectual property because they trained the boys and made the group. I think just registering the group name as a company's property is kinda common among the kpop idols and their companies, but the problem is CUBE did this just to threat the boys with having the copy right over their group name (CUBE was thinking ahead: when their contract ends, the boys should renew the contract with them in order to use the name without any problem). If the (former) Beast was to continue their contract with CUBE, there would have been no problem, because Beast would be with the copy right holder. However, CUBE has been known for their poor management and care for their artists, so (former) Beast (bravely) decided not to renew the contract with CUBE and founded their OWN COMPANY!!. So.. as all the fans guessed, CUBE and the boys had to negotiate over the group name, and CUBE decided not to give/sell it away and then the boys just made up a new name. Which is very cool of them. Sorry for this really long comment but I am still angry about CUBE for this issue.. I just wanted more people to know about this..

CUBE actually did officially said that they were gonna give it to the ex member and 2 other trainees😂😂 But it was after the Highlight's company was founded. I think the main reason that Highlight left the CUBE is the way they treated their artists. Also everyone's thinking that the "new B2ST" not gonna happen (maybe CUBE once again tried to threat Highlight but it obviously didn't work out at all😂) And even if it does happen, Highlight is doing so well, so it wouldn't matter although it will hurt Highlight's and Beuties' heart..Yeah I also hope and believe that they will stick together for a long long time just like what Shinhwa is doing!

Probably the younger generation of Kpop fans wouldn't know them but honestly I think this is their best comeback! It may not create big hoohaa like Big Bang or Exo but Beast definitely have their charms. I always think that they did well with ballads more than dance songs. Ballads are their strength. It is so heartwarming to see everybody is finally having a fair amount of lines. Not that they got less when they are 6 members but the quality is there. They are good but they are even better this time. Hyunseung's departure was deeply felt but still, credits should be given to the remaining members because they managed to hold on to the feel of their group. The way they used to and always will be. All these while Kpop industry has turned into a sinking ship because of too many groups debuting when the ship couldn't contain that much of loads. Beast's comeback gave a little hope that it is going to fine. Their comeback gave the older generation of viewers like me, a sense of familiarity and it feels like coming back home again! beast does deserve a lot of recognition ♡ new kpop fans are unfurtunately drawn in more to upbeat songs, hip hop and like you said Beast is better with ballads. most of their songs are R&Bish and soul kinda music. They are one of the few groups that have amazing steady vocals who can sing live perfectly. I wish new generation of kpopers would notice this gem more. I've followed BEAST for more than 6 years since BREATH era. However, swelling with pride, i always feel fresh and interested when enjoying their music. As i have concerned during a long time, BEAST never does the same thing, even every comebacks all brings new colours to kpop world. You can notice that from SHOCK, BREATH, BEAUTIFUL, FICTION to BEAUTIFUL NIGHT, SHADOW then GOOD LUCK, 12:30, YEY and now RIBBON, they all show different tastes in their style and especially their passion into each music product. I stand with this reason when there are many kpop groups being famous with their catchy and attractive songs, but i can not see any differences among their products (sorry if i can get anything wrong). Finally, when it comes to BEAST, the word i wanna say is "UNIQUE". Who is with me?

For those who said that Hyunseung 'betrayed' BEAST, you guys definitely got it wrong. Hyunseung wanted to leave the group and last year, he received so much hateful comments about him (obviously he was hurt). Furthermore, if you watch BEAST closely, you guys can see that Hyunseung was uncomfortable with the members (since Shadow era). We don't know what's happening behind the close door so, don't blame Dujun for not being a responsible leader. Don't blame Junhyung for not having any agreement with Hyunseung. Don't blame Yoseob, Gikwang and Dongwoon for not supporting Hyunseung. Dujun is a good leader (even though he can be mischievous sometimes) but he does take care of his members very well. Everyone have their own opinion about music. Listen to Hyunseung's solo album and also Junhyung's solo album, their music taste are really different. Hyunseung is more to hip hop while Junhyung is more to songs like Fiction or 12:30. Sometimes it's hard to have an agreement with something that you don't like. Maybe Junhyung tried his best to convince Hyunseung about the song. Both Hyunseung and Junhyung are not a bad friend. Hyunseung had always been a good brother/friend towards Yoseob, Gikwang especially Dongwoon. Please don't say that Beast is better without Hyunseung. Hyunseung's voice matches really well with BEAST member but he has his own reason to leave the group. I have to admit as a fan I was really shocked about it but in the end I realised that it's best for Hyunseung to do that because as a B2UTY, I want Hyunseung to be happy with his life and I don't want him to receive any hateful comments from the fans or the haters. BEAST has the best Friendship among all the Kpop group. Even though Hyunseung left the group, but he didn't leave Cube ent so there's a big possibilities that Hyunseung and BEAST are still in contact (let's hope for it). feeling this could be 12:30 Part 2.... 12:30 is during break up... and Ribbon is what happens and what they're feeling after the break up... this is what i'm guessing only in my own opinion judging from the lyrics of both songs... maybe thats why there are small clocks during the dance parts..... something to wonder about... lol... both songs with metaphors.... the 2 hands of 12:30 on the face of a clock represents separation when they're apart facing away from each other.... a ribbon when u tied it thinking its tied up tight but then unties itself and became losened even though you thought it was tied up tight and won't separate.. but became separated in the end anyway... and think maybe it will become close if you can just tie it up again into a knot.... all these metaphors relating it to a broken relationship
I thought about it the same way too ... not that I'm complaining 12.30 is one of my favorites but this song is genious, the way it captured feelings of disappointment , the way someone would naturally feel following a break up feeling hollow yet full of negative thoughts, lonley because they had something they suddenly lost. This MV expresses what I'm scared to say out loud.

I heard this song once on Spotify because it was recommended and I immediately added it to my playlist. Of course I was surprised to see it nominated on MAMA because I thought it was an older song (I'm a new kpop fan so..). I forgot, but did they win? Because I always voted for this song in the category it was nominated for. Anyway, I'm finally watching the music video for the first time after listening to it a lot. XD
Not going to lie, Junhyung's production really gave Beast such a great sound.... he really understood their voices and skills and utilised them perfectly in their songs

아프고도 소중한 노래.. 비스트라는 이름으로 낸 마지막 타이틀곡.. 멤버탈퇴 직후, 계약만료 등등.. 혼란스럽고 불안정한 시기 속에서도 팬들을 믿어주었기에 마지막 뷰쇼 이후로 팬과 가수 사이가 더 끈끈해진 시기... 끝인 줄 알았지만 사실 엄청나고도 새로운 시작을 앞두던 시기. 아프면서도 행복했던 그때였기에 더욱 소중하다.
사실 이 노래만 들으면 마음 한쪽이 쓰라려서 일부러 잘 안찾아듣는데.. 오랜만에 그때의 뜨겁고도 아프던 여름이 생각나서 들어와봤다..ㅎㅎ 2016년의 리본은 정말 소중함이라는 말 그 자체인 것 같다.

So (former) Beast's contract with CUBE ended in October last year. An year or so before their contract ended, CUBE registered "BEAST (and all the related names-beast, b2st, 비스트 and so on- )" as their intellectual property because they trained the boys and made the group. I think just registering the group name as a company's property is kinda common among the kpop idols and their companies, but the problem is CUBE did this just to threat the boys with having the copy right over their group name (CUBE was thinking ahead: when their contract ends, the boys should renew the contract with them in order to use the name without any problem). If the (former) Beast was to continue their contract with CUBE, there would have been no problem, because Beast would be with the copy right holder. However, CUBE has been known for their poor management and care for their artists, so (former) Beast (bravely) decided not to renew the contract with CUBE and founded their OWN COMPANY!!. So.. as all the fans guessed, CUBE and the boys had to negotiate over the group name, and CUBE decided not to give/sell it away and then the boys just made up a new name. Which is very cool of them. Sorry for this really long comment but I am still angry about CUBE for this issue.. I just wanted more people to know about this..

CUBE actually did officially said that they were gonna give it to the ex member and 2 other trainees😂😂 But it was after the Highlight's company was founded. I think the main reason that Highlight left the CUBE is the way they treated their artists. Also everyone's thinking that the "new B2ST" not gonna happen (maybe CUBE once again tried to threat Highlight but it obviously didn't work out at all😂) And even if it does happen, Highlight is doing so well, so it wouldn't matter although it will hurt Highlight's and Beuties' heart..Yeah I also hope and believe that they will stick together for a long long time just like what Shinhwa is doing!

Ribbon deserved more recognition and wins than it really had. This song is a masterpiece! Well written, well composed, well sung! It's seriously the most beautiful I've ever heard, and you can really feel the emotions they were trying to convey. God, Junhyung is such a genius. This deserved more merit.

wanna know why Beast is unique... because they chose the song "Ribbon" to be their title song instead of the song "Highlight"which is an even more upbeat song, its a song that all kpop group singers would choose as a title song... but instead they went with an emotional ballad with a smooth dance because they refuse to be the same as all kpop groups... you'll know exactly what i mean after u hear Beast's first track of the album.. song called Highlight.. all the other tracks are also amazing and beautiful!!

Probably the younger generation of Kpop fans wouldn't know them but honestly I think this is their best comeback! It may not create big hoohaa like Big Bang or Exo but Beast definitely have their charms. I always think that they did well with ballads more than dance songs. Ballads are their strength. It is so heartwarming to see everybody is finally having a fair amount of lines. Not that they got less when they are 6 members but the quality is there. They are good but they are even better this time. Hyunseung's departure was deeply felt but still, credits should be given to the remaining members because they managed to hold on to the feel of their group. The way they used to and always will be. All these while Kpop industry has turned into a sinking ship because of too many groups debuting when the ship couldn't contain that much of loads. Beast's comeback gave a little hope that it is going to fine. Their comeback gave the older generation of viewers like me, a sense of familiarity and it feels like coming back home again! Well done Beast! You guys are the best! 사랑해!

I've followed BEAST for more than 6 years since BREATH era. However, swelling with pride, i always feel fresh and interested when enjoying their music. As i have concerned during a long time, BEAST never does the same thing, even every comebacks all brings new colours to kpop world. You can notice that from SHOCK, BREATH, BEAUTIFUL, FICTION to BEAUTIFUL NIGHT, SHADOW then GOOD LUCK, 12:30, YEY and now RIBBON, they all show different tastes in their style and especially their passion into each music product. I stand with this reason when there are many kpop groups being famous with their catchy and attractive songs, but i can not see any differences among their products (sorry if i can get anything wrong). Finally, when it comes to BEAST, the word i wanna say is "UNIQUE". Who is with me?

I remember how much I loved beast before. They were everything to me until I became an INSPIRIT. Beast is still my all time fave group. I love this group so much, their songs, personalities, just everything. BEAST fighting!! will support you no matter what!

For those who said that Hyunseung 'betrayed' BEAST, you guys definitely got it wrong. Hyunseung wanted to leave the group and last year, he received so much hateful comments about him (obviously he was hurt). Furthermore, if you watch BEAST closely, you guys can see that Hyunseung was uncomfortable with the members (since Shadow era). We don't know what's happening behind the close door so, don't blame Dujun for not being a responsible leader. Don't blame Junhyung for not having any agreement with Hyunseung. Don't blame Yoseob, Gikwang and Dongwoon for not supporting Hyunseung. Dujun is a good leader (even though he can be mischievous sometimes) but he does take care of his members very well. Everyone have their own opinion about music. Listen to Hyunseung's solo album and also Junhyung's solo album, their music taste are really different. Hyunseung is more to hip hop while Junhyung is more to songs like Fiction or 12:30. Sometimes it's hard to have an agreement with something that you don't like. Maybe Junhyung tried his best to convince Hyunseung about the song. Both Hyunseung and Junhyung are not a bad friend. Hyunseung had always been a good brother/friend towards Yoseob, Gikwang especially Dongwoon. Please don't say that Beast is better without Hyunseung. Hyunseung's voice matches really well with BEAST member but he has his own reason to leave the group. I have to admit as a fan I was really shocked about it but in the end I realised that it's best for Hyunseung to do that because as a B2UTY, I want Hyunseung to be happy with his life and I don't want him to receive any hateful comments from the fans or the haters. BEAST has the best Friendship among all the Kpop group. Even though Hyunseung left the group, but he didn't leave Cube ent so there's a big possibilities that Hyunseung and BEAST are still in contact (let's hope for it). feeling this could be 12:30 Part 2.... 12:30 is during break up... and Ribbon is what happens and what they're feeling after the break up... this is what i'm guessing only in my own opinion judging from the lyrics of both songs... maybe thats why there are small clocks during the dance parts..... something to wonder about... lol... both songs with metaphors.... the 2 hands of 12:30 on the face of a clock represents separation when they're apart facing away from each other.... a ribbon when u tied it thinking its tied up tight but then unties itself and became losened even though you thought it was tied up tight and won't separate.. but became separated in the end anyway... and think maybe it will become close if you can just tie it up again into a knot.... all these metaphors relating it to a broken relationship
I thought about it the same way too ... not that I'm complaining 12.30 is one of my favorites but this song is genious, the way it captured feelings of disappointment , the way someone would naturally feel following a break up feeling hollow yet full of negative thoughts, lonley because they had something they suddenly lost. I'm so sad about hearing them leaving Cube. Actually, I'm still shocked. I just found about it today. I'm really sad. 😭
They are nice and really talented. They compose and write their own songs. Before there is BTOB, there is BEAST. I really respect the sunbaes of my bias group. They are also dorks, and they really took good care of BTOB. They gave pieces of advice to BTOB, helped them practice and even made a song for them.
Now, they are looking for a new path, just don't disband please. My heart couldn't hold it any longer if they disband. I already had enough heartaches from 4Minute and C-Clowns disbandment.
Cube really is now.... (sigh) I don't know. I just hope the company will be okay soon especially now that CEO Hong came back.
Nevertheless, I will still continue supporting the group with their future endeavors. BEAST Fighting! BEAUTIES Fighting!😘😙😚
