This film is amazing Scottish Water, thanks for sharing. It's interesting to see how such a magnificent piece of engineering was constructed and the narration was very informative. Now when I return here for a visit it will be easier to imagine what lays beneath that massive expanse of water and the dam wall. Great history folks :)
I live just over the 'hill' from backwater. I remember the construction going on and was acquainted with a few of the engineers. Some of the workers, those who drove the graders pulled by caterpillars tractors were paid 90 pound a week! An amazing some at the time.

I remember my Dad, Ewen Darroch, working on the Back Water Dam. He used to take the bus from Alyth Square with all the other men to get there.
