Should Christians Celebrate Easter?

  • Should Christians celebrate Easter? This is a question that I have been asked many times over and to my amazement there is a lot of confusion around Easter. Some Christians are concerned about the origins of Easter, others are concerned by the cultural traditions surrounding Easter. While others believe Easter is the celebration of a pagan goddess! But what is Easter exactly? Easter isi the day Christians commemorate the risen Christ! It's the day that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. So should Christians celebrate Easter despite the controversy surrounding it? In this video I provide a balanced view on this difficult question.

Hanukkah was not a Festival or Feast appointed by God. It was a celebration created by the jews for their victory over Antiochus epiphanes. Every year Jesus observe that celebration which was a tradition of men. I suppose we think we are better than Jesus now that we don't follow any celebration.

    Hello Pastor Frederick,
Easter is a pagan holiday that has morphed its way into Christianity. It was originally a holiday to the pagan goddess Aestarte, or Diana of Ephesus in the book of Acts. What do rabbits , Easter eggs and baskets have to do with a Jesus Christ our Savior?
I used to celebrate Easter but I no longer because I feel it is a Pagan celebration that the world has embraced so fully. I don’t condemn anyone who celebrate Easter or Christmas. This is my personal choice not celebrate both of these holidays. Appreciate your comments and your wisdom on this subject.

I agree. Easter is definitely a pagan holiday to its core. We cannot change origins and call it our version of worship. It’s been all dressed up and repackaged in every generation. There are numerous examples of Yah’s wrath behind idolatry and pagan worship. That’s why He gave us specific direction on how to worship so that we would remain set apart from others. We should be fleeing from the very appearance of confusion because we know Yah isn’t the author of it. I came across several vids of ppl justifying Easter. We all have to do our due diligence and test all things, because even the very elect can be deceived. Knowledge is increasing in these last days for sure making it easier to access the truth if that’s what your heart desires. In the mean time, I am praying for our brothers and sisters who have been deceived. The broad road truly leads to destruction. Easter is nationally one of the biggest holidays celebrated. That, in and of itself, should ring your spiritual alarm. Father, please help us! The strong delusion is upon so many. Please don’t allow us to grow weary in doing good as we seek to help our brethren.

Easter is more about eggs in a rabbit. It has nothing to do with christ. If it was so innocent why make it so big of a holiday. We don't actually know the day or time so yes its a man made holiday. All these holidays or man's tradition we made up. Yes we have freedom to glorify God. Yes church is full for one reason it's a day where we look for eggs. God should be glorify every day not on a special day. When one day out of the year. We have got so comfortable on stuff that willnt get you closer to God. Church is bunch of entertainment less worship. The bible say to worship God in spirit In truth. I just won't people to preach the gospel. I'm tired of the debates especially motivational preaching prosperity preaching. Some Pastors think because they went to school they a ordained Pastor..God is the only one that ordained you. How you go to school to preach the gospel. Having a rock solid relationship with the Most high. Letting God guide you teach you all things. So we won't have this confusing God said he isnt the author of confusion. So if whatever u think is ok to do mostly in you confused about it or second guess yourself. Most this Pastors or here to decive you or Having you do things that has nothing to do with receiving Jesus salvation that he offers to us that belive..many in they day will say God we did this in that. Because we think we doing something right . When it absolutely has nothing to do with Jesus.

Special days are important and so are sacred moments. If it was not so God would not tell people to set apart a special day of worship and rest. Nor would it be remembered as passover. The day symbolizes what Jesus did and calls all to remember what He did. Scripture tell us that it is faith from beginning to last. In the KJV the day is known as Easter although it is passover. But it's not the name but what it symbolizes that matters. Paul tells us to meet the Gentiles where they are and to remember that we didn't die for them. So there is only one true Master. Meet them where they are so that some might be saved.

God ordained His Feasts, they're called Passover, and First Fruits. We keep God's Feasts because they all point to Jesus, our Yeshua (salvation). Other holidays are pagan because they hide the true meaning of God's ORDAINED FEASTS. Churches focusing on bunnies and eggs, does not teach us why we need a Passover Lamb to free us from the BONDAGE of Sin. Christmas trees and Santa are not the holiday God ordained when the angles TRUMPETED Jesus' birth (Feast of Trumpets) and Jesus came to TABERNACLE among us (Feast of Tabernacles). The enemy has done much to change TIMES (God's appointed TIMES/Feasts) and LAWS (Sabbath/Mary IDOL worship).

So if the Bible ordained Feast is Passover (Jesus death for our BONDAGE TO SIN/transgressing God's Law), and FIRST FRUITS is the ordained Feast of Christ rising from death to life, why the need to make up a false form of worship? Because the Catholics hated the Jews, and now Christians follow the MOTHER OF HARLOTS. A harlot is a cheating wife, we are a cheating church, worshipping false gods that we were warned about. Sounds like biblical precedent to me. Also Colossians 2:16 Paul is telling believers let no man judge you in meat or in drink or in respect for keeping The Most High feast days (Leviticus 23 chapter)sabbaths and new moons. Does the Sunday Christian church keep the new moons or sabbaths? That’s how you know who he’s talking to. Furthermore 1 Corinthians 10:28 But if any man say unto this is offered in sacrifice unto idols Eat Not for his sake that he shewed it and for conscience sake for the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof . The LORDS Teaching & Throughout the Bible, it is made clear not to worship or follow the ways of the Heathens!
And never to Add or Subtract from His Written Word. Man or Angel, will be Cursed when doing so.
    King James Bible
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

I believe that followers of the Most High shouldn’t follow pagan holidays such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween etc as they are worldly things and created by humans ideas and that is therefore the “false Jesus” that is being followed which is a religion and not faith. However the spiritual belief in Yah (Gods name) ensures that you follow the ways of the Bible to live a righteous life. For example the Sabbath is clearly stated in Exodus (and other books) which yes in the Old Testament but I feel like there are many things that should be followed from there but pray that you’re able to discern the old from the new. (Ps. I really recommend watching Moses story on Netflix it just came out and it really gives you an insight on how the Father works in many ways and how the 10 laws came about). Hope I helped to a certain extent

If darkness has no companionship with the light and in our lord jesus there is no darkness because there only is light. How can we worship our lord and saviour with practices of darkness under the name of a false germanic goddess. Practicing the same sacrifices that the heathens offered to that godess? The lord said to worship him in the truth and in the light. Does that mean just because the heathens lit up a fire for eostre which is idolatry we should worship him in the light of the very fire that was lit for a false god so evangelisation becomes easier? Do we compromise with sin like that in our daily lifes? Though you got a point im worried because of the fruit that eastern and christmas especially is producing. EATING & DRINKING (such as eating only clean animals or drinking wine, not teetoalism)
HOLY FESTIVALS (which are the ordained "Appointed Times"/MOADIM, such as Passover)
NEW MOONS (the 30-day lunar months or "moonths" ordained by God & kept by Yeshua)
THE SABBATH (this is SINGULAR in the original, not "sabbaths" or "a sabbath" - change by biased translators in order to include "Sun"-day as a "sabbath", which it is not in the Bible)
*What Colossians 2:16 does NOT say is that we must not judge those who keep man-made inventions like the Mass of Christ ("Christ-Mass"), "Easter," "Sun"-day, "Good Friday," "Lent" etc.
Christmas begins with "Christ" many say, but it still ends with the Roman Catholic MASS!! 🤯

24 `Seventy weeks are determined for thy people, and for thy holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover iniquity, and to bring in righteousness age-during, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the holy of holies.
25 And thou dost know, and dost consider wisely, from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem till Messiah the Leader [is] seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the broad place hath been built again, and the rampart, even in the distress of the times.
26 And after the sixty and two weeks, cut off is Messiah, and the city and the holy place are not his, the Leader who hath come doth destroy the people; and its end [is] with a flood, and till the end [is] war, determined [are] desolations.
27 And he hath strengthened a covenant with many -- one week, and [in] the midst of the week he causeth sacrifice and present to cease, and by the wing of abominations he is making desolate, even till the consummation, and that which is determined is poured on the desolate one. Daniel 9:24-26 YLT translation
I see from this scripture The Christ was going to die in the middle of the week. What is the middle of the week? Wednesday not “Good Friday” he would have risen on the Sabbath. There was 2 Sabbath that week a High Sabbath. He rose on the Saturday on the 2nd rest day that week. They didn’t see until Sunday morning that he wasn’t there. Jesus said, For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12:40. He is Lord of The Sabbath not Lord of the Easter. If we say that he rose on Sunday we call our LORD a liar and He can not lie. However we know who the father of lies are Satan. This isn’t about what day to celebrate this is about truth. I pray that we in the body do not stumble because of the lies of the enemy. Remember Jesus said even the elect will be deceived. Matthew 24:24 so let us pray that we don’t walk in deception and put our trust in man but only in God. Praise Father for His mercy and grace.

Most people can't go to work and do what they want when they want, there's rules and regulations that have to be followed otherwise there are penalties worse case they get fired. Same with the word of God there's rules/laws that we must keep to the least of them!!! So if he commands us to something we can't do what we think we want and then say we're serving/praising the father and his son Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 3:18-21 is a good example of giving false words to others. Anything that is in the old Testament is in the new Testament it reads that way. SABBATH AND FEASTS DAYS OBSERVANCE:
God had to get up from His Rest, after CREATION, to begin the work of SALVATION. He had to kill an animal, and that is working!
    Romans 15:8; 9:4-5; John 5:17-18; 19:30; Colossians 2; Hebrews chapters 3 and 4; Galatians 2:7; Ephesians 3:2; Colossians 1:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15; Amos 5:20-24; Luke 1:67-72.
They had to preach on those days because those were the days that they could meet with the people.
Jesus Christ worked on the sabbath days and that was one of the reasons why He was persecuted and crucified, by overzealous priests and scribes, who not only studied the Torah, but also taught it daily in the temple and on all feast days, but they were the ones that set a trap with the naked young man Mark 14:51-52, to ensnare and crucify Him.
The Apostles were told to preach only to the Jews, Matthew 10:5, if they accepted His Lordship, otherwise, if he had to die, then this will bring everyone that wills, to Him John 12:32. Then He gave them a new order Matthew 28:18-20.
Jesus Christ became the SABBATH for His people who now must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, John 4:24.
Believers are led by the Spirit, He now lives inside of them, fellowshiping with them, leading them, interceding for them with the Father. As long as they're 2 or 3 in the NAME of. Jesus Christ, He is there in the midst of them, as their Emmanuel!
Thus, it doesn't matter who established any days, they have no authority from the risen Lord.
So, God Himself is looking for those who would simply believe in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior.
The Apostle Paul even disputed with those who were making new Believers to obey the law!
This teaching is not of the Lord.
    Let God be True!
I'm very sure none of you do speak in tongues, for that, you need to ask for daily infilling and leading, and trusting Him to speak to the Lord on your behalf- you have human elders and who not, for that. No Holy Spirit, no Jesus Christ John 14:26; Romans 8:9; Acts 1:8.
No one can observe any of the laws, and still honor God in Christ Jesus, by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:4 (Galatians chapters 1-5, 2 Corinthians chapters 2-3). No grace, no hope of redemption at His return for His purchased possession. Think!
(Those who are celebrating feast days, especiallygood Fridays to Easter days, are bringing to remembrance His cruel death burial and resurrection, to mind, yearly. He is not sitted in heavenly places for them). Hebrews 9:12. That is not the Jesus of the Scriptures!

I think if you understand all the teachings of the entire Bible it is clear that if God's people (us) are to be blessed then we have only one God and don't allow ourselves to assimilate into other religious pagan practices in other words, the traditions of men or pagan practices of others, if we do those things then God promises the curses of The book of Deuteronomy to happen, so if you study the blessings and the curses of Deuteronomy you will clearly see America is under and in the curses, and that is a Biblical Undeniable fact. So in light of this it's no wonder America is under the judgement of God and goddless leaders are in charge, so we Christians aught to repent and not take part in the traditions of men. I think it's obvious that most churches will go along with the traditions because they don't want to lose membership.😮😮😮

"Legalistic, they think easter is a pagan holiday"
    Hmmmm, it is.
When a Christian calls a Follower "legalistic" usually means that the follower obeys GOD and the Christian follows the crowd.
    Sound familiar?

Acts 12:4 ... Easter is Biblical. Of course, Yahushua's death and resurrection. Has nothing to do with bunnies and chocolate eggs. However, our Father takes all things, that the evil one twists and uses to confuse (imprison) the masses .. Our Father uses it for his Good (Friday). And whether the people know it or not. They are celebrating Jesus' sacrifice for our sins. This is a good channel.

Easter is referenced once in the King James Version and is specifically talking about the time of the pagan (that was what unconverted Romans were) holiday.
It's not Biblical in the sense that Christians ought to celebrate it.

@@paulrichards383 You're right. We shouldn't be celebrating Easter. But we should be observing the Passover. And as Yahushua told us to do, at the last supper.. "Do this in remembrance of me."

Thou shall NOT bear false witness.
You blatantly accuse me of lying just because OTHERS are poorly taught.
Did you ever take any logic lessons because what you said is both a lie and illogical.
You also come off as self righteous because I can say with assurance that you don't obey God either. You just proved it by bearing false witness ... first against Christ's chosen Paul and now against me.

Paul was later appointed to be “an apostle to the nations,” but he was never reckoned among the Twelve. (Romans 11:13; 1 Corinthians 15:4-8) He didn’t qualify for that special privilege because he hadn’t followed Jesus during his earthly ministry.
