I found these train videos a couple of years ago and now they are an essential part of my week. Every couple of days or so, I watch a video - like this one - with some mellow music playing in the background. It never fails to relax me and wind me down. 🙂 Thanks so much for posting.
I would like to see this journey again with the sounds of the engine & not the creaking & screeching of the couplings. We love the hum of the engines, so relaxing. Beautiful scenery that you have time to see. Thanks
Absolutely brilliant ride up through incredible scenery and wonderful civil engineering - some of those narrow tracks skirting the edges of severe drops makes you want to hold on tight! We were climbing for 90 minutes of the 2 hour trip - it was a relief to arrive at St Moritz safely - what a thrilling trip!
Lori posts the most scenic rides I've seen thus far. I served in the US Army in the late 70s-early 80s and stationed in Neu Ulm Germany I took advantage of any free time I could to see places such as Austria, Innsbruck quite often. Looking at the scenery in the videos makes me sort of homesick really
You always know where you are when there's mountains around. I live in the Netherlands, we have no mountains and it SUCKS lol. Thanks for your videos man, they're therapeutic.
Fantastic work, not only with making the video, but with all describe and choosing not usuall season & daytime (almost evening) with another light & effects that most ones saw on real during the season. Thanks for all your videos, even from not so popular routes & greetings from Poland ;)
i'm living in crowded city, where so many big tall buildings, dirty slums, polution, and trash everywhere. everytime I'm watching your vlog it make me feel so calm, happy, every good thing come to my soul. sorry for my bad English. greeting from Indonesia ❤️ thank you.

The St. Moritz cab ride down the hill was awesome enough, now back up the mountain just completes it for me im mean, just magnificent views all around, Switzerland is a wonderful place!
Such a beautiful video. Definitely makes us want to visit Switzerland and enjoy this great journey to St. Moritz. Swiss Railways definitely keep their property and equipment in first class condition. Beautifully groomed and maintained right-of-way. Amazing in that almost all original route is still in use with just improvements to infrastructure. Breathtaking beauty...Thanks for sharing...
Wunderschöne Szenerie, besondere, aufregende Strecke! Tolles Video. Aaaaber... ...der Sound der Zugeinheit erinnert (wohl unfreiwillig) doch ein wenig an Peter Sellers' Anfangsszene im Film "Der Partyschreck". 😄
I always found it amazing how powerful those units are! Not only can they haul themselves up those incredibly steep slopes but can also haul several other carriages/wagons behind them! I get that they are custom made, but even so, that's impressive!
I really enjoyed this video. I have Microsoft Train Simulator, as old as it is, running on my Windows 10 with 28" screens, and have driven this route in the simulator many times, one of my favorite add-ons of the famous Swiss routes. It was really nice to see the actually scenery, and experience the many sites and features, including the switchback climbs and the famous Brusio circle viaduct. I really appreciate your posting these long videos. I am old enough that getting out of my lazy boy chair often is a challenge, and these videos let me explore the world.
Klasse gemacht!
While "riding this train" from switzerland to italy, then back again from italy to switzerland. it feels like I'm "going home" 😄 I really enjoyed this video from start to finish. And hope that someday I will go on a real journey as seen in this video
Thanks for this wonderful video. We traveled the route in 2017 using the old cabs where you could still open the windows. Railways condition: excellent!
Further to the gentle music there is a train which operates on the New South Wales south coast (between Kiama and Bomaderry) that if you turn off the music nothing works. If you leave it on the train operates perfectly.
Well, no sooner than this video was published, I "hopped" on the ride back to St. Moritz. The view from the winding track, up high on the Alps, is nothing short of spectacular and breath taking. Just like I watched your St. Moritz to Tirano video four times, I will be watching the return trip many more times. For me, the two videos are just outstanding and I love soaking in the scenery. Absolutely gorgeous!! Your videos are making seriously consider retirement in Switzerland. Many thanks for the excellent production!
Thanks so much for your nice comment. It's funny how some people love things like this while others get bored. Glad you liked it! Hope to get you a trip in sunlight going up soon... Coming soon though is a trip down with deep snow.
Thank you for posting the return journey, When all this madness blows over I must go and try out this and the big tunnel routes really taken by these videos makes UK railways look very dull in comparison. Thanks again.
Before the world went mad. This is amazing, beautiful scenery in perfect weather as weil as impressive Swiss engineering, both in terms of railway and rolling stock! I hope to return one day :)

Me and my Mom together watch your videos, last month we saw the ride from St. Moritz to Tirano and latest ride back to St. Moritz is a surprise, words are not enough to describe how beautiful the landscape is..thanks to your videos we can witness the Beauty of Switzerland especially the scenic rail routes.. videos are so good that it felt like we are inside the cab taking the ride, and 2 hours of watching didn't feel like much.. Finally, i'm a rail fan, so, creaking sounds didn't bother me, rather i enjoyed them.. Thank you for your videos and will be waiting for more..
I watched the original video from St. Moritz to Tirano, and now I can watch the same journey, backwards! Fantastic. Also if played in reverse it’s just the rear view of St. Moritz to Tirano.
There is one place where road & railline run parallel to each other in India. This is Siliguri to Darjeeling rail route via Kurseong on the Himalian track.
8:48 if you look just to left about mid way up, the shed post has border cameras on the Swiss side on the tracks. There are 3 cameras, 1 looking up the tracks, 1 looking down the tracks and the full 360 camera dome. Just past that at teh end of the shed there is another border camera partially hidden by the red leaf tree.
This trip is nice in that there is no sun glare. Interesting that the trees are starting to turn until the pass then they are turned yellow decreasing as the track descends in elevation.
Hello from California! 🌴🌴.... Thank you for sharing! Just beautiful views and since I can’t be there, this is close enough and I enjoyed it all, even the creaking sounds! Lol... I read the description first before I watch the video about no grease or oil put on the hook and chain. I saw a few comments who probably didn’t read the description, they turn off the volume! Lol... Thanks again, it was fun to watch. I just love the small towns and I noticed a few nice hotels to stay at! 😁💖
Gorgeous, beautiful like few others and fantastic image quality. Thanks for these videos, which we like the train and the mountains, it makes us very happy. Greetings from Catalonia, Spain.
Fabolous footage! I love you vids! I especially love that you use the original sounds. 17:53 Watch out! The evaporating car presented! (Certainly just the waiting time in the train stop was cut out:)
As I write this I haven't watched the video, yet. But, I want to thank you for showing the consist before the trip. So many other video producers don't include this important information.
Fortunate to do this trip in a panorama car. Fantastic. I really enjoyed a walk around Tirano too. Another beautiful Italian town. Let me out Austalia!
Italy has the Costiera Amalfitana and the island of Capri by the sea, as well as the Alps! But Switzerland is very close and as a country it is far better organized than Italy. As a tourist you are virtually guaranteed to have a good time in Switzerland (if you are hard-working or lucky enough to have the money!). I had planned a trip to Switzerland this summer, but unfortunately with the pandemic situation I will probably have to cancel it; oh well, at least we have these videos until a vaccine is developed!
Change your mind? Nah, I'll let the wide open spaces, and varied landscapes of my own country, Australia, do that for you :) Switzerland is beautiful (I have a cousin who lives just outside of Geneva), especially if you love mountains, and small towns, but the wide opens spaces...as in travelling a full day without passing through any towns, and to be able to go from the tropics, to the mountains (albeit small) to the desert, is for me :)
Hi from Eastern Canada! How are You in those very difficult time on Earth? Thanks for your nice comment. It did actually take quite some time editing this. The camera was acting up a bit, sometimes very dark, sometimes too bright and often with the wrong white balance setting (accidently left it on auto). Be blessed!

Beautiful trip, but with all that metal straining I kept expecting the train to spontaneously explode.
Yeah like on each curve it was all going to break apart ❗
that sound its the trains articulation haha
I was kinda looking forward to that
Such a beautiful trip! It sounds like that elephant on board isn't very happy though!
It really sounds exactly like an elephant.

Great to hear! This video in particular is good to play with the sound off 😅.. many have complained about the creaking.
I'm dying with the beautiful nature and the spooky screaming in every turns.

Beautiful ride, stunning scenery. And very kind of you to take those 50 piglets on a tour around the mountains, sounds like they enjoyed it!
They were just going wee wee wee all the way home.
